  • I am a SAHM to a 5 1/2 year old who now goes to school and a 6 week old (both girls).
  • When I had gestational diabetes the only thing I would use for a salad dressing is white vinegar with black pepper.
  • i used it in tablet form. it works for a lot of things. pardon lack of capitals, i am nursing and typing one handed.
  • pcos here. diagnosed in 2003. weight loss is entirely possible by eating right and exercising. no fad diets ... lifestyle change. apple cider vinegar is good as well as cinnamon.
  • My reply keeps disappearing :( No idea what glitch is taking place this morning.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar. I took capsules while losing weight. I have to wait until I stop breastfeeding before starting it again. Vitex didn't work for me and neither did Metformin as far as regulating my cycle.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar I took it religiously (tablets) while losing weight last year. I still have some unopened bottles in the cupboard but I have to wait until I stop breastfeeding before starting it again. The Vitex never worked for me and for that matter the Metformin didn't do squat either. Everyone is different with…
  • It's probably like Milk .. there's already sugar in it so cream is probably the same. Black is the way to go, LOL.
  • I am breastfeeding but I'm not tracking my food/calorie intake. I don't have any pregnancy weight to lose luckily. I just eat sensibly and get my water intake.
  • I've made it along with a vegetable stir fry and put the veggies on top of the quinoa as a replacement for rice.

  • Popping in (because old habits are hard to break) even though I am 3 weeks postpartum, LOL. Congrats to the new moms and the newly pregnant and best wishes to the ones who are trying!! All is well here. Autumn nurses a lot during the day and night and I give her 2 ounces of formula before bed to help her feel full longer…
  • I am 3 weeks postpartum. My situation is different because I had GD and had to be strict with my diet for the last half of the pregnancy and that made me lose 10 lbs making my total gain about 15-20 lbs and thankfully that weight fell off after delivery. Walking while pushing a stroller is great. It gives you that added…
  • How you handled it was perfect, in my opinion. I'm shy and probably wouldn't have said anything but I live how you went about it and showed a before picture. Served them up some humble pie. Maybe they will think twice before making comments like that in the future. Congratulations on your accomplishment!!
  • My thought exactly on the sugar. Read the nutrition labels and choose ones with lower carb/glucides and sugar content. They're all tasty though.
  • Yes you need some carbs or your body will go into ketosis and that's not a good place for a diabetic to be. There are test sticks for this at any pharmacy if you want to check your ketone levels first thing in the morning. I had gestational diabetes, was on Insulin and saw a nutritionist on a regular basis. Are you being…
  • Ask to see a nutritionist on a regular basis as well as your regular OB appointments. I only gained between 15-20 lbs and was back into my pre-pregnancy clothes right away after delivering so it can be done. Granted I had GD so I was very strict with my food intake and had to read labels and eliminate as much refined sugar…
  • Congrats!!! I just had a baby 3-weeks ago and I was back into my pre pregnancy clothes right away (like the next day). What helped me not gain a ton of weight? I was strict with my food and ate very little refined sugar and low carbs. I guess it helped having gestational diabetes I suppose BUT you don't have to have GD to…
  • I have PCOS with IR and I had Gestational Diabetes with both pregnancies. My advice is to just cut out most or all refined sugars (white breads and pastas, sweets, pop) .. Read the nutrition label on your foods and base it on both actual sugar content as well as carbohydrates/glucides. The lower those numbers the better…
  • Ask to see a Nutritionist throughout your pregnancy. I had to see one because I had Gestational Diabetes but today, 2-weeks after delivery I weigh less than I did before getting pregnant. The nutritionist has been an invaluable tool at managing my food/calories. Congratulations!
  • I'm a SAHM to a 5 year old and a 2-week old (girls).
  • I don't count calories. I just eat sensibly and drink a lot of water. I am 2-weeks postpartum and I am back to my pre pregnancy weight already.
  • That's my answer too, LOL
  • I bought an electric pump last weekend. The First Years MiPump or something like that. Used it once, barely got any milk. I got so discouraged I almost started feeding the baby formula thinking I was starving her. Turns out SHE has better suction than the pump did. She's gaining weight now that my milk supply is in so I'm…
  • Just eat as healthy as possible and continue to be active. Walking is great while pregnant. I gained more than I would have liked in the first few weeks as well because I was nauseous and the only foods that were appealing were bad ones but then I got gestational diabetes and had to really watch what I ate. I lost about 10…
  • I am feeling great. Only needed one stitch but the hemorrhoids I got from pushing bother me more than anything. The labor/delivery process was a lot faster than with my other daughter and I thought THAT was fast .. LOL Glad to have it over and done with and finally meeting baby girl and seeing she is perfectly healthy. All…
  • Baby girl is here :) Born on Friday September 30th. I went in for my regular weekly BPP u/s and monitoring on Thursday and they kept me in because my pressure was higher than normal. My OB inserted Prostin gel at 10 PM Thursday night and I started contracting about 5 minutes later. I contracted all night and they started…
  • Nothing new of exciting here in the baby department. No progress/contractions ... nada!! I have another bio physical profile tomorrow morning and one the week after. Really hoping I don't make it to the one next week. I am ready for baby girl to get here. The glucose monitoring and subsequent insulin shots are such a…
  • PCOS with IR here as well. I'm glad you got answers and a plan of action. All the best to you!!
