I had the best blood glucose numbers this morning since I've been testing at 24 weeks so the Insulin must be kicking in. However, I had a small amount of Ketones in my urine this morning. I'm assuming it's because I was slightly dehydrated or because I didn't eat properly yesterday. I'll put a call in to the nurse at the…

The Metformin never helped me get a cycle. If I wanted one I had to do Provera as well so for me it was pointless. That was before my weight loss though. After that I got cycles on my own.

Congratulations! I'm here, due in October. Just use the same common sense you've been using regarding foods. Being pregnant though some of the foods you once loved will no longer appeal to you and others that you didn't like, you may crave. It's strange! Don't focus on losing weight, just gain sensibly. It will make it…

I stopped taking it. I was on 1500 mg per day and hated it. It messed up my gastrointestinal system (I'm sure you know what I mean). I lost 37 lbs last year without it so in my opinion and personal experience .. yes you CAN lose weight without it.

So far I have gained between 20-25 lbs. I only have about 10 weeks to go so I'm hoping I don't pack on much more. I am REALLY watching my food intake though because I have gestational diabetes (on Insulin).

Popping in with an update since I've been missing in action from MFP. My daughter and I were on vacation last week. Hubby stayed back to work (poor guy). I was given Insulin yesterday. Not a big deal but I think I'm going to need a higher dose since my numbers are still above target in the morning (fasting). I'm only on 3…

I'm sorry you are upset. You have come to the right place though. All the best in your lifestyle change journey. Your next vacation pictures should make you smile :)

It's also only 15 *C here so it's a bit chilly. Gets cooler than that at night yet again. Mid-July and Mother Nature is crapping on us big time in the weather department. My daughter hates the rain so I know she wouldn't like it. We don't even know what our tent looks like set up. It's an eight person one that we bought at…

I made this for breakfast this morning. Absolutely delicious and oh so easy!! Thanks for posting this :)

Camping isn't happening thanks to more rain all weekend :( Bought some stuff for the trip last night. Looks like we'll be camping in our living room instead though. We may never get camping at all this Summer because of the poor weather. NO fun tenting in the rain, especially with a 5 year old!

Had a prenatal this afternoon. BP is good and I lost 7 lbs. Wicked!! She wants to see me again next week to monitor my glucose levels which are borderline needing insulin. I can deal with that as long as my BP is staying good I'm happy!

Thanks for the well wishes about the GD test but I already know I have it. My doctor ordered to have it done at 24 weeks because of my previous history and my family history. I did the 1 hour thing at 11 AM and by 4 PM my doctor was on the phone telling me my levels were at the point where she isn't even going to bother…

We probably won't be out in the boonies or anything and there will be a grocery store handy if we forgot or are craving anything so that's a bonus. My blood glucose levels are almost perfect here at home. I don't want to screw it up on a camping trip though. We may be able to run to the store to grab fresh fruit and salads…

I don't use the stuff anymore. Generally just 2% milk.

As for hot dogs, I'd prefer NOT to eat them because of the sodium and I cannot find whole wheat buns in this hick town either so I'll be packing other options for myself and letting my husband and daughter eat the wieners.
-
Thanks so much for the great suggestions! I'll be making a list to take grocery shopping with me. Loving that low calorie s'mores option too :)

Very exciting!!! All the best :)

Welcome!! Yeah, the "oh you're eating for two, have some more" analogy isn't true but most people don't know that, lol.

I had more blood work this morning. They did my GD test early (at 24 weeks) given my history so this time I had the rest of the normal 28-ish weeks stuff done (CBC, blood type, urine sample). The lab opens at 7 am according to the sign on the door. I get there at 6:50 and the waiting room was FULL. What time did THEY ALL…

Hi ladies! I still lurk here but I don't have the time to be keeping track and responding in the manner I've seen posted here (to each individual person). I'm more of a generalized responder I guess. I hope everyone is doing well. I've been keeping myself busy this Summer. July has been a crazy busy month so far and it's…

My hubby is the worst for support. I was able to lose weight last year because he was gone away to work for 6-months. When he came back home my willpower went out the window because he keeps horrible foods in the house and there's always Pepsi in the fridge. He doesn't care what he eats (and she should because he's pudgy…

PCOS here too. Not on any meds. Used to take Metformin but it didn't help me and I used to take BCP but I hated the possible side effects so I stopped those as well. I lost weight last year, it regulated my cycles and made me fertile .. LOL

Hello and congrats! Just continue to eat healthy, drink plenty of water and continue being active. Pretty much what you've been doing. Don't worry about the weight gain too much. I believe, depending on your starting weight, a gain of 30 lbs is acceptable. If you are still concerned, ask to see a nutritionist.
-
a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat [/quote] Thanks! I have truly learned something today. So glad I don't go to that Nutritionist anymore because she was apparently misinformed .. LOL
-
I have always been told that muscle does weigh more than fat.
-
I agree .. .shoes make a huge difference. That being said, I had to stop working out on my rocker/stepper because it killed my knees .. so I should take my own advice, LOL
-
I agree with the OP. Obesity should NOT be classified as a disability because a person CAN change that. It's not like it's an incurable disease. Eat right and get off your butt and get active! It isn't that hard to grasp and accomplish. Meanwhile other people who really NEED some assistance can't get squat. Not fair at all…
-
Don't worry about the scale. Start taking actual measurements if you can. Yes, muscle weighs more so you are probably losing inches instead of having a huge weight loss.

I agree 100% I've been asked what my secret was to losing weight. Ummmm read the labels, follow portion control, no junk foods and drinks and then get some exercise. It's not rocket science at all!
