The cool thing is that if it fits my macros, I eat it. It's also incredibly delicious.

I enjoy mine as long as they fit in my goals for the day. I don't use the seasoning though- too much salt. I toss with olive oil, basil and Parmesan.

The initial results are faster from water loss / glycogen depletion, but after that, the losses equal a regular calorie deficit. Lower carb eating does help I find with feeling fuller longer, and as a result, I eat less. If you do go low carb, the moment you eat carbs again, that water loss will come right back. Just…

I find that pretty common with older people, they seem pretty comfortable with their nudity. Myself? Even with a rockin' bod, there will be no nudity at the gym.
-
Well, that's disappointing.:grumble:

You have to find the happy balance between the 2. If I exercise too much, I get very hungry and can go over my calories. I try to exercise enough to stop lean muscle loss, but not make me so hungry I blow my deficit. A conservative deficit would help with that, say 250 off for calories, and exercise the other 250 off for a…

Protein powder is protein powder. And it won't make you bulk up. Sigh.:ohwell:

Sore throat sounds like a cold. No, it won't delay your period.

3.75 lbs a week? Won't happen unless you have a lot (say 80+ lbs to lose)
-
This. Numbers are just *estimates*. Why not try a cut of 25% for a few weeks and then judge your progress.

^ Most who claim to eat 1200, don't. Of those that do, most also go to the extreme with the cardio, effectively taking in say 500-800 calories.

I love this one. Truth hurts.

I can and I will eat all 8. Thank you!

This is cool! And yes, you're a guy so you'll lose faster anyway. Good luck!

Low Carb Grocery is where I get mine. http://www.thelowcarbgrocery.com/storelocator.php In and around Toronto.

This is such truth. I stalled for almost a year doing this.

Be careful, overtraining and undereating will reap far higher tolls on your heath than meat protein.

I actutally had to look this up:laugh: QUINOA Now available from most supermarkets, quinoa is a wholegrain that is a good source of protein and is rich in fibre, too. Unusually for a grain, quinoa offers an impressive 13 per cent of complete protein. When buying uncooked, simmer in water like you would with rice - adding…

A week or two is not long enough to see proper results. 3-6 weeks is more like it. You're going to have big water fluctuations from the activity and the calorie adjustment, especially if your carbs have dropped. That's too much activity for less than 1200 calories, especially with so little to lose you will probably need a…

Not nearly enough protein for the "weight training" you're doing, or the cardio for that matter. At that steep of a deficit, and having already lost 30 lbs, you are eating too little and burning off what is left of your lean muscle. 4oz of chicken or fish is approx 15-21 grams of protein. For someone who is obsessive about…

- How long have you been eating less? - When did you start exercising, what do you do and how long? - Your diary is private, how many calories a day? - How much do you have to lose?

I go by sleep. If I haven't fallen asleep, it's still the same day:laugh:

What he said. Same calories, different time period. I find I eat less when I don't eat breakfast, and then have 2 big meals. Just a preference. He's creating a calorie deficit, that's all.
-
100 lbs lost? Congrats! Have you taken a diet break yet? You're following a deep deficit, which is fine, but you should break at maintenance every once in awhile.

Uhm, it may work for muscle endurance? But it really sounds like a glorified way to hurt yourself. It's worth the $10 extra for a competent one.

With your hypothyroidism, I would cut your calories 100 a day to 1500. Try that for 3-4 weeks. Thyroid issues tend to result in lower calorie requirements. And any new activity will cause a temporary water retention

^ Careful with all the truth and science out there. Great post. :drinker:

My (close) friend did. She lost 60 lbs relatively quickly. Then she put on about 90 lbs or so. Not sustainable for the long haul. It's all about the deficit. Eat less than you consume, whether it be by diet, exercise, or hopefully, a combination of both. And if you want a good shake? Buy some protein powder. WAY cheaper.
