  • I'm sure everyone has their own preferences but almost all liquids we take in are 99% water anyways. Plus we get water from our foods. I generally shoot for 100+ oz of liquids during a day. Most of that is made up with 1 powerade zero and 1-2 fill ups of my water bottle. Once I'm having to go pee every half hour I tone it…
  • This week has typically been a fiber one protein bar and a 100 calorie, 20g protein shake. I'm not much of a morning person and on the go for class early most days so it works perfectly for my situation. On off days where I'm not rushed I'll make coffee, eggs and usually throw in sausage or some sort of meat for added…
  • I tend to use both depending on my day and where I have areas that need some extra fats/proteins/etc thrown in. Most often I'll use a whole egg and then two just the egg whites. Sorta solves both, get some fats and nutrition plus some low calorie protein

  • It's not going to burn anything if you're still over eating. Wildly changing your diet is usually not conducive to results unless it's something sustainable and practical. Low carb diets are crash diets that may work for a week or so. Honestly from personal experience I would NEVER recommend low carb to anyone. After a day…
  • over weight is a relative term. There are plenty of people on this site that are "over weight" but are actually extremely fit and carry a lot of muscle. Those ripped guys/gals on here, they are all probably "over weight" if you go by height, weight and BMI. Those are pointless things to measure your health by
  • Eating "whatever you want" for a day will easily negate any progress you made that week, so no, a cheat day in that regard is completely counter productive. It's all calories in vs. calories out. Instead design a "cheat day" with your goals in mind. If you're shooting for 1800 calories all the other days, your cheat day is…
  • Because the nutrition facts on the package are for the meat "as is" which is raw. If you weigh your foods after cooking, at least in the case of meats, 4 oz of cooked meat is MORE calories than 4oz of raw meat. You end up over eating despite counting calories. So many people don't understand this
  • But real pizza has those dreaded carbs!! /s First off it looks delicious. I was about to jump on the hater train until I plugged some numbers in. It turns out to be a high protein breakfast at about 550 calories which really isn't that bad. Certainly something I'd be willing to try when I get tired of trying to make eggs…
  • Congratulations you look fantastic! Keep going at this rate and you'll have to get your dress altered before the wedding! :)
  • That right there is likely your problem. It's always easy to drop 10-20 lbs when you start out if you've got 100+ to lose. Eating correctly, adjusting your nutrition as you go along and dedication to your program is what brings results. Sometimes despite all that effort your body throws you a curve ball, in this case your…
  • This comment really can't be underlined enough. I know my mental state goes all funky if I string together a couple days of low fat intake. It really plays a massive part in your hormonal balance and mind set.
  • Well depending on the wine, you may be underestimating how many calories you're packing in at the end of the night. Wine is fairly calorie dense because it's all sugar (like all alcohol really). I'd also venture to guess you aren't carefully measuring "two glasses" so there goes half a bottle of wine, 600+ calories. The…
  • You've always got lean ground beef or lean ground turkey, I like both. Cuts out a lot of the unnecessary calories from fat. I generally use a whole wheat bun but there isn't a calorie savings by using whole wheat. The calories in the bread are based on how big of a bun you use, same goes for the hamburger patty. You can…
  • You could easily hit the 6 lb mark based on what you said about your varying weigh ins. You likely weigh marginally less than you think you do but those slip ups have your body storing excess water weight. If you eat cleanly, work out a few times a week and stay well hydrated I'm sure you can hit your targets. Losing 2 lbs…
  • Nothing wrong with wanting a PB and banana smoothie. As with all things food related just be smart about it and work it into your daily calories. I use 1 banana, 1 cup light soy milk, 1 tbsp peanut butter and 1-2 scoops of protein powder. Obviously the protein powder adds quite a lot of calories but this is typically a…
  • I came across an interesting snack idea that turned out delicious. Basically they are zucchini pinwheels. You can use a mandolin or vegetable peeler to cut a nice long slice of zucchini length wise. Spread about a table spoon of hummus on it, sprinkle some feta cheese, a few small jalapeno slices and couple slices of…
  • The beer isn't what makes you fat, the poor decisions following the drinking is what does. If you want to kick back and have a couple just work it into your calories for the day. I personally prefer a couple shots of a liquor mixed with a diet drink or "light" mix depending what I make, about same calories as a full…
  • Echoing everyone else on it's natural to look. HOW he goes about it is what we're more concerned with. If he's making comments out loud about how hot she is or "look at that rack" sort of stuff that is HIGHLY disrespectful

  • Lunch this week is Pablano pepper stuffed with ground turkey, black beans, corn, chipotle peppers and topped with mozzarella. Comes out to be about 300 cal, 25 protein, 22 carbs and 10 fat for macros. Pretty quick meal prep to make these :) I also have a chicken parm that I made that I can rotate in/out for Lunch/Dinner to…
  • You're right they really aren't necessary if you're eating correctly to begin with. Your body isn't going to magically dump fat because you had 300g of carbs on a pig out day, that's just not how the body works. People think the refeed's work because they are actually deficient somewhere in their normal diet Plus OP is…

  • So he finds you unattractive and essentially cheated on you to get what he wanted... Pretty open/shut case here. That's not how you handle things in a marriage, he signed up to love you regardless of what you look like and to be faithful to you. His behavior is way out of line
  • I kind of do this just as a normal thing. I've never been the type to actively go seek relationships or dates. They just kind of come around randomly and I do my own thing during the "sabbatical".
  • Thumbs up! You look great!
  • Seems like I see this a lot when someone who isn't in as good as shape shares their opinion. Kinda like, "hey wait a min, let me catch up and we can be skinny together!" Or just people being downright jealous. As long as you're within a healthy weight range and living an active well rounded life it's really none of their…
  • I echo this as well. Dieting isn't about ruining holidays and special occasions. Maybe identify good choices on those days but even if you go nuts you'll be alright a few days later after returning to your diet and your water levels return to normal. Lots of sodium in thanksgiving foods and eating out.
  • Carbs aren't the devil. Mix in some healthy breads, fruits so your body isn't craving them so badly. Should help curb your tendency to go crazy when you are around these foods. Maybe even give yourself a decent cheat day once a week, plan "bad" foods but stick close to your normal calorie intake, or exercise really hard…
  • Always weigh before. The nutrition labels are ALWAYS reporting raw uncooked values. You're going to be over eating if you base your measurements off the cooked weight and are logging based on the nutrition label info
  • Lots of water and mix some dark veggies into your diet. No "cleanse" is really needed, your body will do it all on its own when you start eating better
  • I'm surprised your nutritionist didn't create a few meal plans for you. That sounds far more simple than finding an app that can do these very specific requirements.
