Personally, I would pick the PB&J. I don't care for ribs and they can be quite fatty for pork. I love a good grilled cheese but you'd get more protein from the PB. I love PB&J's on 100% whole wheat bread, with natural PB and Simply Fruit spread. I also second the fried egg sandwich - but I add cheese instead of mayo :)

I log mine - I take 2 fiber tables (16 cals), a Viactive ches (20 cals) and airbourne chewables sometimes (19 cals). That's 36 cals daily, sometimes up to 55 if I'm feeling like I'm coming down with something. Definitely worth logging as I'd have to walk for about 10 minutes to get the burn if I went over by that much!

olive oil and lemon juice, with whatever seasonings you want balsalmic vinegar and olive oil blend avacado, lemon juice, olive oil, water and onion for a delish (but a little higher cal) dressing use salsa instead of dressing mix milk, greek yogurt and ranch powder mix for a low cal ranch - search the forums for the recipe…

I log every day regardless of gain or loss. For me, I consider something to be an actual loss if I've been at or below that number for 3 consecutive days. For example, today I weighed in at 169.4 for the first time. If I weigh in at less than 170 the next two days I will consider myself to weigh 170.

I think of it based on a week (in fact the iPhone app has a weekly summary graph that I use - it tells you how many net calories you are over/under based on your weekly goal). I've been steadily losing for almost 6 months (47 pounds lost total in that time) so it works for me. I do find that my body responds better to…

Okay - my 30 day shred results are in! Here are my inches lost from each measurement I took (started 4/29, finished 6/8): Bust: -3 Waist: -4 (this is at my true waist) Belly : -4 (this is right at the belly button) Hips: -1.5 Thigh: -1 Bicep: 0 Weight: -10.8 lbs I didn't have time to take after pictures this morning, but I…

Ditto to all of this! Can't wait to remeasure tomorrow and see what the difference is - I can tell the difference in my work pants for sure :) I am a bit sick of Jillian right now though. I want to do RI30 next, but I may need a week or so break before diving back into another JM program!

I was thinking about getting serious about weight loss in January anyway because I hated the way that I looked in pictures and the way that clothes looked on my body. But the thing that gave me the real push to do something was a betrayal by my husband in December that sent me into a weeklong period of not taking care of…

try brushing your teeth - not much tastes good with the toothpaste taste in your mouth. My guess is that you're eating because you're bored, not because you're hungry. Maybe get out of the house for a bit and take a walk before eating something?

I would guess that the calories included the fat because the amount after cooking would vary wildly depending on how long you cook it for. So for logging you have two options: 1) Log the bacon as 70 cals/2 slices and log the eggs per egg without adding additional calories for the fat since it's included in the bacon. This…

I've been there! Making a lifestyle change like this is hard work! Here are some ideas that have worked for me, now and in the past... - pre-log your day the best you can. Each weeknight I log my next day as I pack my lunch and snacks for work. If I don't know what dinner will be I log a quick add calories for 500 to…

Like everyone else said - you will avoid some of these fluctuations if you weigh in at the same time of day each day as well as using the same scale. I weigh myself every morning (there is much debate about that - search the forums and you'll get tons of opinions), naked, immediately after using the restroom. And yes,…

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a slice if it fits in your calories. But I would be careful about using food as a reward for weight loss...

I've never had a commute to my office more than 45 minutes before - and that drove me nuts. That being said, the past 8 years of my life were spent in a career where I worked at my client locations a good chunck of the time, so my commute would vary based on where I was actually going and I spent roughly 50% of my time…

Started wearing a pedometer and focused on getting to certain amounts of steps each day - made a huge difference!

Wow, you really didn't carefully read the original post *or* this response to your post, did you? The OP states that she has a food scale... that's not the problem.

Like everyone else said - take your favorites and just cook them on the grill! I have a veggie basket and we cook almost all veggies on the grill in the summer. Corn on the cob is super good when grilled with the husk still on (I soak them in water for 30 minutes or so prior to putting them on but you don't have to). Our…

^^^ These!! Also, mushrooms and steak. I don't hate steak, but I don't like it either, so I figure why pay for it?

Personally, I wouldn't get too worked up about it - all calories are estimates anyway (both eaten and burned). When I make something like this (recently I made drop biscuits - no way those were all exactly the same amount of calories) I just count all of the calories for all of the ingredients and eyeball the portions to…

MFP helps you calculate this - when setting up your goals it takes into account your height, current weight, age, and activity level and determines approximately what you would need to eat to stay at the same weight assuming no additional exercise/activities. Then you tell it what your goal is (1 lb lost/week, 2 lb…

100% whole wheat bread, toasted, with natural creamy peanut butter and simply fruit spread. Now I kinda want one for dinner!

I'm in! Unfortunately don't have the time to be captain. Will something come out with a list of the teams and members?

Today was my first day at level 3 - I was getting sick of Level 2 so it's a great change of pace! I felt more tired after doing level 3 this morning than I have in a while, however my HRM said that I burned about 25 less calories than I was for levels 1 and 2. Anyone else experience that? Also, there are 300 or so less…

My 1.5 year old isn't very picky, except with veggies. She will eat them if they're part of something else, but not very often if they're just by themselves. And she almost always will eat something if she sees us eating it too. To get more veggies in I make a lot of "one pot" type meals. Omlets are great - I put tons of…

My opinion is that if you are walking more than normal you should log it. I personally wear a pedometer and track my steps every day. I have my profile set at sedentary due to my current lifestyle (9+ hours/day desk job) and log any and all steps that are over 5,000 each day. See my blog post here if you're interested in…

I'm a sugar-a-holic and I can attest that after a couple of weeks of eating well you don't crave the sugar as much. Not that I don't enjoy the sugar or anything (I'm not talking crazy now...) but I don't *crave* it like I used to. I still eat some cookie/candy/chocolate combo each day, and I usually have at least one snack…

I did Level 2, Day 5 this morning - had to take 2 days off and took it easy today due to injury (not sure what I did, but have pain in my sciatic nerve when I bend over). I ended up doing the modified plank moves and had to do other ab excercises when the lower abs were being worked out (the double crunch and the one right…

My closet is getting bare as I've been weeding out the items that are just too big to wear without looking silly (especially my professional clothes). Just this morning I put on a button up, thought "well, today's the last time I wear this shirt", then decided as I was finishing getting ready that it was just too big to…
