We took our daughter out to a fancy restaurant when she was a couple of months old - we were there with a friend. I remember clearly because while she usually was very good in restaurants at that point (usually the noise put her to sleep), on this occasion she became upset and my husand and I took turns with her out in the…

As of yesterday - 7/25/12 - I have 241,360 steps for July! I made up all of the amount that I was behind in my goal of 310,000 for the month. Only 68,640 to go, with 7 days to go!

I also bring my lunch almost every day. Most weeks I bring salads 3 days of the week - I have 3 containers that I use for them and I make all 3 salads at the same time to save on prep time/work. The off days, or weeks like this where i just didn't feel like buying salad stuff, I do things like sandwiches (this week it's…

OP, this was a post you made one month ago: So which is it - you just ended a 3 year relationship in which you produced a child (which would lead me to believe that you've had sex), or that you want to wait until you're married? I realize that you haven't said that you've never had sex, but this thread would leave someone…

I'm on here every day - I think today was 185 consecutive. I log my food almost every day, good or bad, and always log my wight and exercise. Anyone feel free to add me - I've lost 53 lbs but still have 25ish to go!

I didn't do it on here, but before my wedding 5 years ago I lost 35 pounds doing the South Beach Diet and exercise for my wedding (186 to around 150). Unfortunately I used the loss of my gym (moved to my hubby's town when we got married) and the adjustment of living together and cooking together as excuses for why I…

As of yesterday, 7/22, I'm at 216,430! Only 93,570 to go to get to goal (310,000)!!!! That's just shy of 10,400/day for the rest of the month.

I just went through the past 2 weeks in your diary and most days you have a good number of calories left (over 150 most of the time, ususally higher). If you're hungry, by all means add another snack (or two!). Maybe some almonds or other nuts would be a good snack - it will keep you full throughout the night too! PS your…

As of yesterday, 7/19, I'm at 180,850 steps for the month - only 9,150 steps to get caught back up!

I drink a ton more water when I'm drinking out of my nalgene bottle. It makes a big enough difference that I started using them at home on the weekends as well as while at work. I also always order a glass of water when I'm out to eat, even if I'm getting another beverage too. Once in a while I'll make a pitcher of Crystal…

As of yesterday, 7/12 I am at 95,775 steps (only 24,225 behind goal!)

I have clothes going back to college, so 10+ years? As I've started going "shopping" in my boxes of old clothes again I've had to weed out items which are either out of style or simply not my style anymore. As a 30-something mom I don't feel comfortable in shirts that just meet the top of my pants anymore!

This! Also, when I realized that I had lost enough weight to be the equivalent of my 2 year old daughter (35 pounds). Now I'm only 15 pounds away from "losing" my 8 year old nephew (65 pounds)!

I just found this thread and I'm super excited! I religiously wear my pedometer and I set goals and track my steps daily, weekly and monthly (I'm a bit of a spreadsheet dork). My personal goal for July is to achieve 310,000 steps (average of 10,000/day). I'm behind due to vacation for the first 8 days of the month - but I…

I could be wrong, but I thought that the stretch marks were created from gaining weight (or growing quickly, like in pregnancy) rather than losing weight. I would think you wouldn't get any new stretch marks unless you are strength training and building muscle that is in different places than the fat that you are losing.

I've been walking a lot over the past four months. When I started it was a big deal to get over 5,000 steps and now I'm up to the point where going 10,000 steps (about 5 miles) in a day is no big deal. I often make use of my walks to catch up with friends and family on the phone, so I'm not going super fast or getting out…

I was a member for a year and a half. I liked that it was cheap and I didn't have a contract. Mine had a huge row of TV's with a box on each cardio machine to plug your headphones into, so I usually watched TV while running then listened to my own music while on weight machines. Mine also had a scale in the locker room,…

I have a pair of spandex running shorts that I wear under my skirts and dresses - works like a charm! Plus I don't have to worry about my daughter pulling my skirt up :)

Bump for later - can't see the images at work!

I did SBD about 5 years ago and lost 35 pounds on it. It was fairly easy for me to stick with it because I already ate the way that the diet is structured. I already was eating (and still do) 100% whole grains, lean meats and lots of fruits and veggies. Phase 1 was hard for me, but Phase 2 wasn't so bad. My downfall, and…

Walking has been my primary form of exercise! I did the 30 Day Shred last month and noticed a big difference there too, but consistently since March I have been tracking how much I walk each day and trying to hit certain targets.

I used 5lb weights when I did it last month - they are the only hand weights that I have. There was only one exercise in Level 2 that was too hard for me to do with that amount of weight (I would do it with them until I couldn't anymore then just do the rest of the reps without weights at all), and there were a couple of…

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but I use it as a treat! I eat a mini ice cream sandwich almost every night (110 cals), and if I have room for it, I'll eat a second one :)
-
Yes, every day gets logged, regardless of the direction.
-
I am a sweetaholic too. I allow myself a treat or two a day (fit it into my cals). With my husband and my daughter not following the same diet there are treats in the house anyway - I can't help but look at them. If I eat more than that, regardless of what it is, or how much over it puts me, it gets logged. I don't think…

You don't say how successful you've been, but you've been a member for more than 1.5 years and only show a loss of 5 pounds so I'm guessing you haven't been. That means that you're not creating as big of a calorie deficit as you think you are, probably by "double dipping" your exercise calories I spent some time a while…

I have thought about getting a fitbit for a couple of years now. I own a Polar HRM (F7 I think?) and a pedometer already, so I haven't been able to justify the money yet. I wear my pedometer religiously - even grab it from the nightstand to count my steps to and from the bathroom at night! - and track my activity level…

I love the mentality of #2! I do the social thing - if there is a gathering of people (most recently a birthday party with a cookie cake that looked delicious!) I socialize with my coffee but don't indulge unless there is 1) room in my budget for the day - I usually leave room for some treats and 2) it is something…

This is exactly what I did when I lived by myself. I still do this a lot since it saves tons of time on busy weeknights, and because I have some favorites that hubby doesn't care for so I just freeze the leftovers.

Pre-log most things and adjust/add as necessary throughout the day :)
