  • This! My MIL gives me a lot of advice too and I just smile and say yeah sure I'll try that and just go back to doing what I'm doing. That way she doesn't get her feelings hurt, our relationship stays fine and I do my thing too. She really is a good person and doesn't mean to be criticizing or a know-it-all. All mothers…
  • No matter how good the quality of the jeans I buy, my thighs will still destroy them. Only difference is, cheaper jeans fray and then tear and expensive jeans/pants develop a shiny faded patch and THEN fray and tear :ohwell:
  • Simply ignore! You're doing it right. Give yourself a pat on the back for making it this far and ignore her. People will usually give you advice whether you like it or not. Smile and say "Ok sure" and change the topic. :flowerforyou:
  • I did the 6 day makeover and I was a body type B. I lost about 4 pounds and an entire dress size and I kept it off for a month. My biggest problem with it was that I felt like I was eating all day what with 6-7 meals! Also, it was a strain on my grocery budget because it was so much chicken and fish and only berries…
  • I'm with you on this one. My thighs have destroyed countless jeans like this. Its also annoying to keep pulling out shorts that get stuck between my thighs every few minutes! :grumble:
  • Tracy make the diary setting public... That should make it visible to people who aren't on your friends list.
  • Oh sorry, should've explained that. I never eat that less, I can't if I tried! Its just set that way to remind me to pace myself over the day. I'm not interested in seeing the "was under her calorie goal" message everyday. When the red numbers go up, I simply remind myself to pick lower cal options or break my meals down…
  • I'm taking Allesse/Aviane since 2 yrs now. Before I started it, my doc said some people gain weight and some lose it. I actually lost weight after I started taking it. I think it differs from person to person. You'll have to go for a check-up anyway after 3 months, so you'll know. :flowerforyou:
  • I feel sick too at the thought of eating breakfast as soon as I wake up. I need about 2 hours between waking up and eating something. Its fine... Doesn't make a difference what time you eat.
  • Turkey burger! 130 cal burger bun 180 cal butterball turkey patty 15 cal tomato and pickle slices 5 cal Bick's relish 330 cals and you don't get hungry for at least 4-5 hours! Accompaniment to any breakfast: Roasted zucchini slices with olive oil and seasonings. A whole zucchini is about 20-25 cals and very filling. Bread…
  • I came here from calorie count.com. I hate their user interface. It was so hard to figure out how to log in foods and how to change them up and their database was not even half as big as MFP. It was just too complicated. I gave it a week, gave up and migrated to MFP and I'm sooooooo glad I did!
  • Curly hair is sexy as hell imo. I'd kill to have curly hair. I have a few friends with curly hair like yours and they look so damn sexy! I have straight hair and I've damaged my hair trying to heat curl them all the time. You can do so much with hair like yours. Straight hair is boring. just my opinion though.
  • I look at myself naked in the mirror. It motivates me plenty
  • Wooooaaahhhh! You look absolutely amazing! Congratulations on your progress!:drinker:
  • My breakouts stopped once I started washing my sweaty towels with antibacterial soaps.
  • OMG I have tears in my eyes with this one!!!! I.cannot.stop.laughing!
  • I went on a week long vacation a month back and I ate and drank everything because it was all so yummy! We walked a lot and swam a lot and got some good exercise while still having fun. I put on some 5 pounds, but once I got back I lost it pretty quickly. I would've never forgiven myself if I hadn't eaten all the amazing…
  • What a load of poo! I eat 2-3 meals a day and I've been losing weight just fine and looking more muscular. I have better things to do than eat 5-6 meals a day. And if your metabolism shut down, you'd die.
  • Divide by 3 how ever much of cooked rice you want to eat. So if you want 1/2 cup cooked rice, you need to boil 1/3 of it. So 0.5 cup or 125ml divided by 3. which is about 42ml which is also approximately 3 tablespoons. So cook 3 tablespoons of rice to get 1/2 a cup of cooked rice.
  • If its 150 cals worth of rice you're planning to eat, then only cook 1/4 cup rice. It'll swell up to 3/4 cups when cooked.
  • 1/2 cup of uncooked rice will make 1 1/2 cups of cooked rice (rice to water ratio should be 1:2). So if you boil half a cup of uncooked rice, eat 1/3 of the total prepared amount. I'm not sure whether your plan says 1/2 cup cooked or uncooked rice though. If it says uncooked, have the whole pot.
  • Hahahhahahhaah this is so me! My poor husband simply wakes up, walks over to the other side of the bed, holds me tightly and goes back to sleep.
  • So true. I heard someone the other day making fun of this one lady who regularly attends zumba classes. They were saying something about her being the cardio queen. I know for a fact that she does a lot of strength training. Just because they hadn't seen it, they jumped to a stupid conclusion. Any anyway, what someone else…
  • Thanks for this article. She's so right! Everyone should do what they have fun doing. I love my Zumba classes for cardio and I love my strength training classes at the gym. If it were solely up to me, I wouldn't have the motivation to do all those weights and body weight exercise by myself. I can't afford a personal…
  • I bought Fresca Lean Turkey Bacon yesterday from Costco. It is soooooooooo yummy! Thick, long satisfying turkey slices for only 25 cals per slice! Yeah JUST 25 cals. Slap it on a slice of bread, spread some tzatziki on it and make a sandwich. I'm still licking my fingers!
  • I did it for 10 days and lost 9 pounds and gained it all back in the next week. Also, I was obsessing about solid food ALL THE TIME. I was even dreaming about food at night! Also, it cost me 2 weeks grocery money to keep buying the grade B maple syrup. Soooo not worth the pain. All the relentless lemon squeezing made my…
  • I did it and all the weight came back and then some. I will never ever do it again and will never advise anyone to do it either.
  • Yeah I've done it and it was beyond amazing. The free fall part was such a rush, but the best part was floating down slowly with the parachute. I've never felt so peaceful! Its so quiet up there, just you and the breeze. You can't hear anything because you're so high up. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if it wasn't so damn…
