  • QFT You may lose a little from your boobs but I'm guessing you will may also lose a bit from your tummy too right? This will probably enhance the overall look won't it?
  • This is good advice. If I drink enough water I'm usually not really keen on eating any snacks. Also you could brush your teeth or chew some gum. If you brush your teeth really well, and use mouthwash, often that stops me eating anything for a while. Another thing that sometimes helps me is thinking of some things that…
  • You did say that you yourself don't see a big difference, and you know how much you've lost... give them a chance, they will notice but I agree with those that say some people just comment on the negative, it never occurs to them to comment positively. :flowerforyou:
  • Eep, sorry that's a myth too! I have a wide pelvis. Did I have an easy labour, erm, no.... :flowerforyou:
  • Hmm, well all oils are fat unless you use a low-cal subsistute. I suppose it depends what you're using it for. If you're frying things, try using a non-stick pan and dry-frying - I find that works very well with eg onions. Some meats will give out their own fat to fry in. Or just use a tiny bit. There are low cal…
  • When I say 'a couple of extra calories' I mean 'a couple of hundred extra calories', sorry - stupid phone!! If you are taking multivitamins I personally would take only those aimed at pregnant women or those trying to conceieve - I believe too much vitamin A, for example, can be problematic which is why pregnant women are…
  • According to my GP you only need a couple of extra calories in the third trimester. Otherwise eating at maintenance while pregnant seems a good idea. I presume you already know what to avoid, and to take folic acid :-) If you're trying, it's a good idea to take the folic acid now.
  • Re-find your motivation. Ask yourself why exactly you want to do this, and if you want it enough. Write it all down, re-find your passion for it! And when you do, pass some my way! ;-)
  • 'Running's easy, when you feel like you're too tired and want to stop, just keep going.'
  • Usually mashed potatoes and sliced green cabbage go well, if you're cooking it in some kind of sauce.
  • Has she herself got a plan of what she wants to do to lose the weight? Every time she talks about it, why not ask HER to tell YOU what she's going to do. Sounds like if you advise her you're wasting your breath. She must have some idea in her mind how she's going to lose the weight if she claims to be that determined. If…
  • Quoted for truth.
  • Just to say don't give up, you can do this. Personally I'd advise a visit to the GP to ask advice about exercise and to make sure there's nothing else going on that is hindering you losing the weight. They may have advice about diet too, and/or referals that will help. Keep posting! xx
  • I've been unhappy with my weight for years but just watched it creeping up. Eventually I realised my 6 foot husband weighed less than me. Even then it took a couple of months and I used the New Year to get serious. 2lbs gone so far, onwards and downwards.
  • You can get quick porridge sachets here in the UK - I think Quaker oats do them but there may be an Aldi subsitute. They come in ready-measured packets of oats, then you put them in a bowl, measure in the water or milk in the same packet, throw that in too and microwave for 2 minutes, done. You can add anything you want…
  • For me it helps to just have the goal of getting there. So pack your gym bag the night before, then when you've scheduled a work out just concentrate on getting to the gym, don't think about the workout and how hard it'll be and what else you'd rather be doing. Once you've got there, everything just flows from there. Good…
  • Wotcher! Well done for losing those 2 stone - any tips?? I could do with losing two stone (3 is more like it; but I can't even seem to manage 1...) so I'm with you! Toodlepip x
  • Some great losses here! I'd love to join if I may! A bit late for a whole stone maybe but I'd love to be back in the 10-stone-somethings, so I've got 13 to lose. Well, 12 after this morning! Ambitious (for me) but something to aim at! AH2013 - ainehanley9 - Agirlcandream - ashleysteiner - Atoriaz - beattie1 - 3 lbs down, 5…

  • These are good! I can't seem to get mine to show but here is the URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w3jrIFK7pg
  • The number of things I said I would never do, and then have done since I've been a parent... I did try reins when my son was learning to walk and desperate to toddle uncertainly everywhere, but he wouldn't walk with them so I got rid of them. They don't seem to be as frowned upon here in the UK although you never know -…
  • Married 4 and a half years now, one cheeky wee boy who's 2. He keeps me running around after him but sadly, not enough to lose the pounds...
  • I feel your pain. I don't know if you're a SAHM or not? Either way, try making yourself a packed lunch and having some healthy snacks prepared the night before so that you don't have to think too much about what to eat during the day. Start exercise small with lots of walks with the baby in their pushchair - try and build…
  • I know the feeling - FREEZE the banana bread in slices and have one each day.
  • My little boy is 26 months and I've just about managed to lose 10 lbs in the last 6 months! I'm finding it very hard so any support would be welcome! It's so hard to fit in the exercise. Mind you after the pregnancy I was fine, it was the next 6 months that were the problem. Life with a baby doesn't make healthy eating…
  • Can I just clarify - you only ate dinner once a week?
  • It's great to have you as a friend. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm nearly 34 and starting to lose the extra weight after a few years of it creeping on... ironically I'm starting to care less about my physical appearance with regard to what other people think, but at the same time pretty determined not to keep on going up weight-wise!
  • Great results for the 30DS - I have the DVD, must dust it off! I'm in a similar position to you, never quite recovered from the birth of my 10lb 6 baby (nearly 2 years ago now!), but I'm getting slowly down to my pre-pregnancy weight then I'd like to lose another stone. I'm a similar height to you too, and originally from…
