  • About a year ago I started setting alarms to go off every couple of hours so that I could manage portion control & not be hungry at undesirable times. Example: Breakfast 9am: 250 cals Snack1 11am: 200 cals Lunch 1pm: 350 cals Snack2 3pm: 250 cals Dinner 5pm: 400 cals Snack3 8pm: 250 cals Total: 1,700 cals
  • I've always had more of an appetite in the evening & can't go to sleep if I'm hungry. There's nothing wrong with that. Just plan your calories appropriately throughout the day to allow for it. It doesn't make a difference what time you eat. I'll usually have some yogurt or toast before I go to bed & that's less than 180…
  • Tomorrow is always a new day!
  • Bump means to bump a thread to the top. I love my Pinterest boards :) Here is my healthy food board: http://pinterest.com/mssamanthamarie/food-is-good/ Also have a nutrition board: http://pinterest.com/mssamanthamarie/nutrition-etc/
  • Thank you! :)
  • Hi! I saw your guy's group on the message boards & just added myself. :) I just started MFP about 2&1/2 weeks ago. It says I joined in 2010, so I'm guessing I added the MFP app in my old phone or something because I just started using it. I started with 46lbs to lose & then I will be able to fit into all my old clothes!…
  • I'll be joining the group too :) I started out a few weeks ago with 46lbs to lose & wanted to lose 2lbs/ week, but after 2 weeks I only lost 1lb, so I'd be happy with 1lb/ week too.
  • The only time my sugar is high is when I have more fruit, but I don't have a problem with that at all. Everything in fruit is good for you & I'd rather eat 200 calories from fruit than 0 from a diet soda. My snacks are usually between 70-140 calories. Ranging from a hard boiled egg (70), to cottage cheese (80), handful of…
  • Yeah when I was younger & in itty-bitty-ballerina mode I ate Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburgers all the time haha. Obviously that's not the case anymore.
  • Hi! Thank you! :) Congrats to your daughter too! That must be really fun & exciting!
  • I'm 5'2". I eat pretty well I just need to start working out more. To say I'm sedentary is an understatement - I rarely even get out of the house.
  • There's many reasons why I never wanted to work with food & this is one of them. Although I don't have a sweet tooth like you, I love to eat & rarely get full so I'd probably continuously pick & eat everything. If you're allowed at work, maybe gum or a hard mint that could ward off your sweet cravings? Outside of work,…
  • I've done it a few times before. Usually when I'm not feeling well & have been in bed all day or something & end up having to run to the store because I ran out of meds or juice or needed something quick to eat. PJ pants & a jacket. It's not like it's an ideal way to go out, but usually at that point I didn't even want to…
  • Not really helpful if you're a vegetarian. =/ I got protein type.
  • Yeah I was the same way for awhile too. One person actually insisted I was pregnant: "Oh, you just don't want anyone to know?" Me: "No, I'm really not pregnant." Everything else on me was small. Now the rest of my body started catching up with my tummy haha.
  • ^ Because he's spammed the living heck out of the boards the past few hours annoying many people including myself who have reported him.
  • Yeah me too. After he spammed the board for hours & I along with many others reported him.
  • There's a million reasons to go vegan, but I'm not going to preach or try to convert someone that doesn't want to. I'm not vegan, but I'm "mostly vegan" usually. I don't drink milk or buy meat. I also don't buy processed crap, which you can technically still do if you're vegan, but most of the reason for me to eat the way…
  • I only count it as far as the water in it towards my water for the day.
  • I'm 5'2" also. I normally try not to tell people to consume more or less calories (unless it's something obviously ridiculous), but 1) you should never feel hungry regardless if you need to lose weight or not, & 2) sorry, but 1,200 cals is way too low for you. 1,600-1,800 cals/ day is totally fine & healthy & with all that…
  • Your body may be changing shape too, in a good way. You say you're looking better when you look in the mirror - that's where it starts! Especially when you exercise you start to get definition in places. Some parts still stay big though, at least for now, maybe those spots don't change as much quickly. For example my…
  • I just found stretch marks on my sides today from gaining weight. That was pretty depressing. I didn't notice them before. Even though I just started working out again a couple weeks ago, it was a huge mind f#&% to think that I actually did that to myself... But like a lot of things in life, I don't want my mentality to do…
  • Food has actually been the least difficult part of my journey. I started learning about food/ nutrition & changed my diet about a year before I started getting health problems. I guess that was the 1 good thing in all this... I was a dancer growing up & taught dance & was a social butterfly. Then I got really bad anxiety…
  • Bleh. Yes. I've had it for some years & last year I was finally able to get myself off meds. It was a struggle but I didn't want to be dependent on them anymore - Xanax is a horrible thing that I wasn't warned about what it can do to you. I still have anxiety, but for the most part I'm able to keep in under control right…
  • I log milk in my cereal. That's another 90-140 cals. If I put honey in my tea, I log that. I log the tablespoon of olive oil I use to cook. I pretty much log everything except water & tea that's 0 calories. The only things I don't is like if someone says "try this" & I have a bite.
  • Did it have a description next to the mushrooms & rice? There are several types of rice out there.
  • If you're eating balanced & healthy & everything you see & feel is good it shouldn't be a problem.
  • I think enough of us here have been asked "are you pregnant?" before when we had gained weight but were not pregnant & it made us feel even worse about ourselves. Maybe MFP isn't the place to be asking someone "are you pregnant?" even if they are skinny everywhere else, k? Anyway, your tummy could be a perfectly normal…
  • I don't think doing any type of workout would be considered cheating.
  • ^ I used to have a 4 pack & still was never able to do more than 1 or 2 push-ups lol
