  • My stomach/ digestive system is usually pretty fine unless I eat crap. If something happens I usually know why immediately. I've had back pain since I was a kid. My doctor when I was 12 told me to stretch more, when at the time (& for several years) I had about a dozen plus hours of ballet & other dance a week, so I knew…
  • I did the shake thing for a few months back in 2006. The Slim Fast or generic Target version. Although I liked how they tasted, they didn't go anything for me as far as my weight or health was concerned, & I haven't had them since. Instead, around that time I decided to start learning about actual food (what's really in it…
  • I use high impact aerobic, but a lot of people use a HRM.
  • I had that my first few days off & on as well. Your feet will get used to it. I do Insanity to both sneakers & socks, depending on how I'm feeling that day.
  • Your hips are fine! But hey, I can understand there's always something on all of us we want to change. Sometimes we do have what we have though - even when I was a 100lb ballerina, I still had a butt. (It wasn't til I was older I learned to appreciate it.) You might be able to do a little for your size, but not so much…
  • I just finished Week 1 & had Day 1 of Week 2 today. I like it so far. I have been doing Insanity & am about to go into Month 2 on that soon, but I'm increasing my activity & decided to try this. I like it as an addition so far because the slower pace (compared to non stop in your face Insanity cardio) gives me time to…

  • 110, but I've been a dancer my whole life & 100-115 most of my adult life, so it's reasonable. & I'm small boned (my ring size is 4&1/2.)
  • Carbs are fine, just choose the right kinds of carbs. Whole grains, beans or lentils, fresh fruit. Basically just try & stick to the non-processed stuff. My carb ratio is about 40-45% & I'm perfectly happy with that.

  • They'll say that when you start gaining your first 10 or 20lbs. By the time you gain 30, 40 & 50 they're making fun of you & no one asks you out anymore. Just venting my personal experience.
  • Just because something is basic & repetitive doesn't mean it's easy. I haven't done 30DS, but from being a professional dancer for almost 2 decades, I can still always say even a beginning ballet class can be beneficial to anyone who wants to dance but doesn't have time or can't afford a bunch of classes. I did recently…
  • i tried it about a year &1/2 ago. Did the free trial thing, & they even extended the trial for me. Although it did have some flavor, it didn't really alter the taste of the food too much. They were pretty confident in their product though, so they offered to extend some more for me for free, and I think I tried it 1 more…
  • She is totally gorgeous from head to toe. Calling her fat is like the f-word, it's ridiculous. That's an amazing body. You can have a beautiful thin & curvy body. A body doesn't have to be muscular to be good looking. It's like comparing blonds to brunettes - they're both great in their own ways.
  • I make carrot fries that are totally awesome... 6oz of carrots are inhaled in like 3 minutes lol. All it takes is a bit of olive oil & light seasoning in the oven for 20mins. Tomatoes in EVERYTHING - egg scrambles, pasta, salads, sammiches... Is there anything you can't put tomatoes in? Vanilla Bean Greek yogurt from…
  • I'm not 44 yet, but I plan to age into decades beyond with the philosophy of "Use it or lose it!"
  • Plie's, squats, lunges... When I did ballet hardcore I had an awesome butt & legs. I like to think I still do somewhere lol
  • I consider what's IN food much more than I consider what the calories are. I have olive oil almost every day which is high in calories, & egg whites almost every day which are low in calories but both are good for you. I am known for my passionate love of cheese, and am lucky that my favorite cheese is mozzarella, which is…
  • Threads like 1200 cals & others that are multiple repeats I usually just ignore, because most people that use this site don't really hang out on the message boards a lot, if at all, so they don't see it all the time.
  • Boobs. I've always had a butt though, even as a 100lb ballerina. Ready to turn my overstuffed 36D+ back into a 34B though.
  • I could say a lot of things, but especially because you said you love working out, I definitely would not suggest cutting back on your workouts. I can't imagine any workout being bad unless you have a problem (as in addict - think anorexia in workout form) or are injuring yourself. You did lose an amazing amount of weight…
  • Yeah it does for me too. I'm short & up until a couple months ago I spent a vast majority of my time in bed. (Bad health issues - no work or school either.)
  • ^ Hahaha, yes! Insanity is pretty awesome. You're doing a great job on starting out - 30mins of cardio & 30 mins of strength is a great combo for most people. If you're willing to watch what you eat & actually HAVE that 10lbs to lose (the less you have to lose the more difficult losing is) you should be good to go! Also…
  • It's my strong personal feeling that no one should ever feel hungry, but that's just me. If you're consuming adequate calories, them maybe look at what it is you're consuming (too much alcohol, not enough protein, etc. etc.) 1200 is really low & not enough for most people, especially over a length of time. Also on MFP, a…
  • It really differs for people. A lot I know lost at least a couple lbs starting their first week. Although it took me 2&1/2 weeks before I lost anything, there was a noticeable difference in my body before the 1st week even ended, which I was stoked about. I got through the 1st month good, 5lb loss but measurement…
  • In a way they're kind of right. It's always good to do at least 10 minutes of a warm up/ cardio before strength, to prepare the muscles & get oxygen flowing to them.
  • I haven't heard of this before, but I love Pilates, so I gotta check this out... If you guys have a group, please send me an invite or let me know. :)
  • What about how much cocaine we do? j/k
  • Yeah. I won't give it up. When I turned vegetarian a few years ago (& vegan on occasion) I absolutely refused to give up cheese. That being said, I do limit it though. And very happy that my favorite - mozzarella - is low in fat & cals. Cheese has protein too ya know! And I started having Greek yogurt almost every…
  • Most people fluctuate when they lose weight & it's not that they're doing anything wrong at all. I wouldn't be surprised if you lost 2lbs of fat & gained 2lbs of muscle that week - it would look on the scale like you didn't go anywhere, when you actually had more progress than the week before. Plus muscle burns more fat…
  • Thank you. That's one of the smartest things I've read on here all year.
