  • Also you could totally screw up your metabolism. I practically feel like I'm a poster child for that without meaning to. I started gaining weight a few years ago due to health issues - I never really had a problem with food. I was active all growing up, then for a couple years I was practically bed ridden, where the max I…
  • That's almost what I had for lunch today haha. Some tuna with mustard & pickles, & a kale salad with tomatoes, raspberries, cheese & champagne pear dressing. About 300cals total. Pasta dinner I had tonight was about 300 cals. Maybe if you made some & brought in leftovers? Some high fiber penne was 180 cals, made…
  • My lunch & dinner today were pretty good & around this amount! Lunch was tuna (~100 cals) & a salad with kale, raspberries, tomatoes & cheese with champagne pear dressing (~200cals)! Dinner was alfredo pasta! (High fiber penne 180 cals, cup of tomatoes, garlic, & alfredo pasta sauce ~120 cals) I really like eating smaller…
  • Feel free to add me if you like. I'm on here every day now & the motivation on here really helps, and I try to comment some motivation to those on my friend list. I haven't been overweight all my life - just the past few years. I was a dancer all growing up then got a boat load of health issues. Even though I ate pretty…
  • I quit coffee about 2-3 years ago & I am a HUGE fan of green tea! Yeah I liked my Starbucks pick me up, but I quit mostly for health reasons associated with high caffeine (I had a bad physical anxiety disorder for several years & decided to control it naturally instead of more pills.) Green tea is so awesome for you & you…
  • I've looked into it a couple times to see if I could actually do it since I love pasta, & inevitably decide against it. I still have pasta about twice a week, maybe 3. I get the organic good stuff (brown rice pastas are some of my fav) & it ups my fiber for the day, so as long as I don't make a huge bowl, I'm okay.
  • I love all the Trader Joe's nonfat greek yogurt flavors. Pomegranate, strawberry, & vanilla bean are probably my favs. I eat Nancy's sometimes, but don't think it's all that fab. Good stuff in it though.
  • I LOVE this thread! I don't have any photos but there is so much inspiration here! I was 100-115 pretty much all my life except the past few years due to health issues. Was 156 at my highest a few months ago right before I started working out again. Am 149 right now with a goal of 110.
  • It's not impossible. Once I lost about 20lbs in a month & 1/2 without even trying. Now, I'm at about a 7lb loss in 2&1/2 months while trying (but being smart about it too.) There are many things that are possible, but if they are REALISTIC is another story.
  • That's great! I already wanted to try Hip Hop Abs & this makes me eager to try it soon!
  • I had about 8-10 shots of vodka late last night. How I'm feeling right now is reason enough for me to know I don't want to do this all the time. I'm normally really good 95% of the time, so when I have a day like this I don't beat myself up over it. And like I said, I don't feel fabulous today like I have the past week,…
  • If you're really serious about losing weight & being in shape, you wouldn't be so quick to debunk exercise. Not being able to exercise is the reason I gained 45lbs and now that I am able to exercise, I'm beginning to lose it. I have great eating habits too.
  • My best friend for the last 16 years is a guy. There has never been anything more than friendship between us, not even a kiss. And yes he's straight.
  • Think of avocados like an investment purchase: Yes, it's expensive, but it has so many wonderful things in it that are great for you so it's good if you make room for it in moderation. Monounsaturated fats are the GOOD fats that you want, also in nuts & olives/ olive oil.
  • Had some health problems creep up on me a few years ago that prevented me from being active really at all. Even much walking. Cooking & doing laundry were the extent of what I could do. Had been active all my life so I gained 40 lbs. I eat pretty well though. Now that I'm getting better and able to be more active, I'm…
  • The past month I've tried to count pretty much everything I can. I used to not count pills & tea, but I do want to see how much I'm getting of a certain nutrient, & those can have iron, potassium, sodium, etc. in them. I used to not count garlic, but do now too. I don't count water because I know I don't drink enough & I'm…
  • A lot of what I eat is usually 150- 250 cals, with my dinner being more 400, & I eat around 5 times a day (though I currently break it down to time frames on MFP.) Things I like to have on an almost daily basis: Greek yogurt - 140 cals Egg white scramble w/ tomatoes & mozzarella - 200 cals Cereal (Kashi or something w/…
  • Either get a heart rate monitor or many log it in as circuit training.
  • Chobani raspberry is my easily accessible favorite, or I like Trader Joe's & they have a bunch of different good flavors. Pomegranate & Vanilla I think are my fav,
  • Sleep is practically the best thing you can do for your body when you're sick. Sleep & liquids & lots of it!
  • I'm from South San Francisco. Afternoons are good for me, so the 2pm or 3:30 slot.
  • I know right. I hear bubbles can be cancerous.
  • Do you know what you're deficient in? You can't really know if you need more of something if you don't know what you're not getting enough of. Iron? Potassium? B vitamins? I'd find out first before you start swallowing a bunch of pills you don't need & not finding out what the real issue is.
  • I drink carbonated water every day.
  • I haven't drank cow's milk since 2006. I usually prefer rice milk. I used to drink soy milk (yes I get organic so I don't want people yelling that soy is GMO) and sometimes I use vanilla almond milk in things, but I don't like the taste of almond milk on its own.
  • Natural creamy unsalted peanut butter on my spoon at 1am when I get the munchies.
  • Be thankful you're losing 1lb a week.
  • Great post. I like that you gave a lot of flexibility to options whereas a lot of people state a lot of black & white math, which doesn't apply for everyone & drives me nuts when people do that.
  • "Birthdays, BBQs, & Vegas" - What I say are my exceptions & I'm free to consume things I normally wouldn't do. Like eat a lot of meat or hot dogs cuz I'm normally vegetarian haha
  • I'm actually going to give it a try starting tomorrow, & see how I do/ if I can do a couple weeks Tuesdays & Thursdays being my fasting days. Some people on here seem to have some good success with it/ 5:2 & under 500 cals on fasting days. I eat more at night so I'm thinking of fasting through the day until like 6pm. I…
