I was doing 4.1 for running and 3.7 for walking today. I think not trying to go too fast until you get used to the feel of running is a good goal to have.

Don't worry too much about gaining some weight while you are quitting. A month post quitting you will feel better physically than you have in years and should be able to take off whatever weight you gained in that month. I've been smoke free for 90 days and feel great!

Good luck Superbabe612. Nicotine replacement really helped me. Don't be afraid to give yourself help in quitting.

Just saw your posts. I hope you are still on the wagon in your second week. I too was born with impaired lungs and started smoking when I was 21. Dumbest thing I ever did. I finally got tired of everything associated with smoking and quit 77 days ago on June 11. I used the patch and did the step down method. I have been…

Check these out- I spent an hour preparing these a few weeks ago and my husband and I have been eating off them ever since. Should be pretty kid friendly and the calorie content is very reasonable ~300 per serving or less. http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2012/09/slow-cooker-freezer-meals-make-8-meals.html

I am two months quit as of today. I smoked two packs a day for ~12 years. I am on my last week of the patch which is working wonderfully for me. I decided not to worry about weight gain when I quit this time and I put on ten pounds. Personally, not smoking was more important then the weight. After about a month of not…

I am literally in exactly the same boat 5'7 and 146. I'm also trying to get to 130-135 range, but mainly go down two sizes. I put it on half pound a week and have been getting back into exercising . After a week and a half I feel less jiggly and haven't been hungry on my non exercise days. Feel free to check out my diary.

I did my first class today and was also dripping with sweat at the end. I have a hunch if I keep going I'll be a stone cold fox ;-) That was work.

Awesome!

Daily, and like some other folks said I use trendweight.com to stay sane about it. Seeing the daily fluctuations is useful for me but may not be for everyone. I would say if you are weighing daily make sure to follow the trends and averages not the daily number.

Feel free to add me. My diary is open.

Going by your profile pics 20 pounds is too much. Ditch the boyfriend, eat the cupcakes. Take a walk later this week.

Guiness is actually one of the lower calorie beers. Have at it.

I do my best to count everything. Part of what is successful for me is not beating my self up if I go over. I really don't worry about the calorie goals on a day to day basis. Some days I am over some days I am under. I like to have the big picture of the week and to gauge the trend in me eating. Having to worry about…

Sending a friend request. I could use the motivation as well.

Please feel free to add me. I am 5'7 and well within my BMI but my jeans aren't fitting right anymore :-( I hope to get back to fitting my jeans and possibly a size or two smaller.

If you are concerned about not eating enough/eating too much try using a TDEE calculator. I would suggest searching "TDEE" and "BMR" on My Fitness Pal and looking at some of the tools recommended from there. My hunch is that you may be eating too little for sustainable loss right now, but calculating your numbers would…
