Even when I weighed 140 to 150 pounds, I was still a size 10/12, so based on my own experience, I think looks can be deceiving. I carry weight on top, yet I'm well balanced (same measurements on chest and hips). You can really see it in my waist measurements, which dramatically increased 10 inches when I gained 40 to 50…

Here are a few things I've learned, if helpful: 1. Beans seem to be the hardest on everybody's systems. Although at first you might have digestion trouble when you introduce all the veggies, this seems to go away. For some people beans continue to pose problems, however. Two years ago I introduced a daily salad in my diet…

Meat is okay as a condiment. :) The key is to treat it that way. Alternatively, have a little more meat but do your best to have grass fed.

I've lost 18 pounds in 6 weeks on ETL. I tried it two years ago, had all the bathroom problems and dropped all his rules except the salad-a-day. When I returned to the full program six weeks ago, I no longer had the digestion issues. I will second the comment that eating this way is a process. I feel energized and alive.…

Eat to Live has totally changed my attitude toward food. Would be glad to friend for support! I tried it two years ago but was in the middle of an adoption and just couldn't give it the focus it needed. Now I'm on week 6 and have lost 18 pounds.

I should have said I'm trying to lose weight ahead of a national conference in November, so I like the idea of another 6 weeks of focus. A few things that helped me: Try to hit all the habits he recommends, but especially target one habit each week. I started by making SURE I always got my 1 pound of salad every day, then…

I've been doing this for six weeks and have lost 18 pounds. It's a wonderful, common sense program. Feel free to friend me! I prefer to hand write my meals in a little notebook each day but I do post updates.

Way to go! Feel free to add me, too! I'd love more friends on here. I am doing the Younger Next Year program right now. It's slow and steady, so it works well for my semi-crazy life as a new adoptive parent.

You all are hilarious, and totally AWESOME. Feel free to add me, too! SeaQuest DSV, Stargate Atlantis, and computer geekiness rock my world.

I'm in! I am 5'3" and currently weigh 189. I'd like to be down to 184 (-5 lbs) by V-day. That's lower than I've been in a whole year, so it will be a good way to break my mental block on going lower.
