Off topic, I saw a guy playing the trumpet at my old place of work, airport. I guess they practice everywhere!! Uhm oddest thing I've seen someone do in the car was not worksafe. I am pretty sure it varies for everyone depending on weight, size, age etc. The best way I can think of is getting a heart rate monitor. I was wondering the very same thing, then I got one. Man it really helps encourage me. It's great!

Maybe try a slice or two of whole grain bread with apple's and some peanut butter. Whatever meets your taste

Vitamin shops also have specific recovery drinks. Try Gatorade or something like that with a protein bar, GOOD carbs are suggested as well.

Maybe change up your caloric goal, eat more and workout a bit harder. Also add fiber everywhere you can. Benifiber to your water and munch on some protein bars to keep the hunger down. Sometimes by shocking your body out of a trend you loose more weight,so see if that helps ya

when I say every day I just vary the intensity level. I like to sweat a little even if its 15 mins or 60. Though this is a new regimen for me so I haven't tested it out with my monthly yet, so we'll have to see how it goes. I'll probably veg out day one and possibly two, maybe some weight training as others suggested
