I didn't even know you could look at the actual food on Fitbit! That solved the problem. I pre-logged dinner and then had a change of plans and it had both meals listed.

Haybales is the expert on these things, but I can offer one helpful tip Here's the link for the Scooby Calculator that uses bodyfat. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/

It definitely helps to know they hole in the weights are not interchangeable with all bars. I seriously doubt I will find the funds to buy a barbell set for this round of STS. I'm in the gym 5-6x a week so I may just throw in the barbell work while I'm there, even if its hours before or after my official STS workout.…

Thanks so much for your help!!! That sounds like a great plan on the 1RM test and on using my current weight to figure 1RM. I so wish I had a barbell set. Money isn't really the problem, it's just that I have always ONLY used dumbbells and know nothing about barbells. I've been looking at craigslist for a few days now and…

^^This is totally me! All of today's food is logged and I just switched my macros and I'm blowing the top off of carbs, though I confess I did have a bagel for breakfast which is very unusual. I have a long run tonight and am going a little carb heavy to prepare. My problem is how in the world do I get to 40% fat and keep…

I think Fitbit is so worth, I just ordered my 3rd one....yep, I've lost 2. Tried wearing the 1st one on my waist band and lost it in a dressing room somewhere. Wore the 2nd one on my bra, which would have been awesome except it got me pulled out for a pat down in the airport on my way to DC. On my way back I took it…

Honestly, I would recommend not weighing at all while you're eating TDEE. Your clothes will tell you what you need to know. The weeks I was doing reset and not weighing were the most freeing weeks of my life.   That said, I am usually an every day weigher, but I try not to let the fluctuations bother me.…

I'm a cardio junkie too and I actually love it. I wish so many people didn't see it as the devil. Cardio has a ton of benefits: Reduced risk of heart disease Improved blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels Improved heart function Reduced risk of osteoporosis Of course, too much of any exercise is too much, including…

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training. I haven't done it, but I've read about it. Tabata is straight from Satan  Did that outside this morning and saw stars during the sunrise.

Two years ago, after 6 trips to the ER, my husband was finally diagnosed with an allergy to beef, pork, and lamb. I mean anaphylactic shock, stops breathing allergy - not upset stomach and hives allergy. Since then we've become an all poultry all the time family, with some fish here and there as I learn to cook it. It's…

I do boot camp. Does that count?  Nice weight loss!!!

<----51 3/4 here and I'm faster, stronger, leaner and healthier than I've been since I was 25! Total gym rat - guess that's my version of a midlife crisis. I'm so loving the 50's:love:   At this point I'm just looking to shed a few pounds of fat and add loads of muscle. Welcome and feel free to add me as a…

Loved reading this. I'm so frustrated, I literally change something every day or at least every week. The numbers given by MFP, F2F, Scooby, etc. are all hugely different. As soon as I gain a pound, I find the one with the lowest number and switch my goal to that. As soon as I lose a pound, I start thinking maybe I can eat…

You know, I've about decided it's a numbers game and no online calculator knows my body well enough to give me the numbers I need. Kiki or Lucia (sorry, I can't remember which) told me try a rotation of 4 weeks @ TDEE-300, 1 week @ TDEE, 4 weeks @ TDEE-200 to keep my body guessing. I'm gonna give this a go and, if the…

Kiki, you've been very up front and honest about the brutalities of feeding your body. I, personally, am so thankful for all of the advice, support, patience, and love you've shown me - a total stranger and for no fee. I've paid nutritionists, dietitians, trainers, fitness experts and the like big bucks over the years. I…

Loved this ^^^ I've never seem this formula before, but when I ran my numbers I came up with a RMR of 1670. I recently had an oxygen RMR test and it came up with 1615. I'd say that's pretty darn close. These calculations also tell me I'm eating about 100-200 cal/day too much. Maybe that's why I haven't seen significant fat…

I so agree with this ^^^. I workout 6x/week. When I finish there are literally sweat puddles on the floor. I can burn 500-700 calories an hour per HRM. I have a desk job and sit on my bum all day. So, am I moderate or streneous? I go hard in my workouts, but I'm not ready to die when they are over. So, am I moderate? I…

I can't speak to the calories, but I bet someone who can will chime in. As for the carb cycling, a trainer friend told me to try cycling like this: Day 1 = 150g Day 2 - 100g Day 3 - 50g Day 4 - as close to 0 as possible Day 5 - repeat from day 1 I haven't tied it because I do a lot of cardio, which requires carbs. I can…

Bad runs are an important part of training. The foster mental toughness and fortitude. Without bad runs, good ones wouldn't feel so good. If you are properly fueling (not excessively restricting calories), watching your macros, building in rest days, doing speed work, and running your long runs at a nice slow pace, your…

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm a hare's breath away from bailing on the EM2WL philosophy after gaining on reset, gaining on cut, and having fewer and fewer clothes that fit. I'm really glad to see that it works for some!!!  Hope springs eternal.
-
Brad, I'm so happy for you and your success!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: I also so happy that you shared it here. I've started (half heartedly) EM2WL many months ago and finally did a full 7 week reset that ended in early July. Been at a reasonable cut since then with really no results, other than maintaining the 8# I…

OK, you beat me to this!! I struggled with migraines, weather headaches, hormonal headaches, etc. for most of my adult life. I started working out 5-6 days a week 8 years ago and they are all gone (with the exception of an occasional hormonal headache which I can handle). I still sometimes wake up with that throbbing in my…

I'm currently working on the fat loss/muscle building myself and still tweaking things to see what works. I peeked at your diary and, after talking to some body builder friends of mine, I would suggest you use your increased calories to increase your protein. You seemed really low on the days I looked at. Good luck! Can't…
