^^^ This is what my trainer told me and it worked!

I'm only about 8 weeks in on CF, but I do love it. I do get a little queasy before I go, wondering what the WOD is and how hard it will kick my butt, but I'm always glad I went (even when the WOD ends with me gasping on the floor). There have been several for-time WODS where I really just wanted to quit. As soon s I stop…

Nicely done! :drinker: :drinker: I lost for the 1st month and stalled out in the 2nd. Need to figure out what's going on and fix it!

Honestly, I believe it's 90% on the inside. I have a friend who is widowed, over 50 and quite heavy. However, she believes she is beautiful and acts like she is. She exudes a sense of confidence and "feeling good in her skin" which makes her extraordinarily attractive. When I'm with her I notice men noticing her in a good…

Nice work! My arms and legs look like I've been whipped because of all my DU failures! I'll get there though!!!

Did my first handstand pushups last night! Before the WOD I asked the coach if I should scale using the bench or box. She said "Your handstands are great, you're doing handstand pushups." Never in a million years would I have believed I could do one. :noway: Of course, I had 3 - 15# plates under my head and on the last two…

I'm a long way from unassisted pullups, but I did find this helpful! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSt3g7brI_c

Nicely put! Sometimes humility is the best path. You can't force people into understanding. They have to find it on their own.

I've had a hard time finding portable things for breakfast until this weekend. Just found this recipe. Had a couple of sausage balls with a hard boiled egg (you could leave this off) on the drive in and GLORY it was wonderful!    http://paleomg.com/breakfast-bacon-maple-meatballs/

I'm new to Paleo as well, and just made my first batch of homemade mayo using 1/2 olive oil (regular, not virgin or extra virgin) and 1/2 walnut oil. OMG, it was so easy and AMAZING. I used the homemade mayo, coconut milk, and some spices to make homemade dill ranch dressing and it was divine!

Got it! My favorite part was where the told me to quit CF and join the Y because they had a safer trainer/athlete ratio. I do both CF and Y classes. My CF workouts can be 2:1 (Yep, 2 trainers + me!) up to 2:10. My Y class is consistently 1:25-1:30. I talked to a lot of folks before starting CF, mostly because I'm older and…

If you are like me, you will sometimes wish you would! I'm only 3 weeks into to CF and did 5 fundamentals classes. In mine, we went over form with PVC pipes and then I used either an empty bar or light weights to work more on form. I had some weight lifting experience so I already had the form on some things. At the end of…

I'm too new at CF to have a time opinion, but when I was training for my 1st half marathon (at 50 years old) an elite runner friend of mine told me he has huge respect for slow runners and their endurance because they are out there twice as long or more than the elite runners and just keep going. Great job!!

^^ Love this!!! I haven't done Barbara (that still sounds so funny to me to say), but I just checked it out and OMG :noway: . I'm just learning the fist kip baby steps so my pullup scale is x number of swings = x number of ring rows = 1 pullup. Barbara would take me all day to complete. Nice work!!!

I'm still really new and have only set a few PRs. The first one was all physical. I kept loading weights and doing math until I couldn't do another rep. I was disappointed in my weight until I realized I accidentally picked up 15# plates instead of 10#...remember, I told you I was new! :embarassed: My biggest issue is…

Thanks! I'll jump on over there now.

[/quote] This is the stuff that keeps me going!!! You're officially my hero. I'm brand new (less than 2 wks in) to CF and am just beginning to set PRs. The only ones I've done so far are: Overhead Squat 70# Push Press 90# Back Squat 125# (it was a slow rise getting up out of that squat). I'm a little disappointed in…

^^^THIS!!!   This is my first month trying paleo and TOM actually surprised me. I usually know days ahead of time when it's approaching, but not this time. At my age (52) I am surely knocking on the menopause door. Fingers crossed it goes a lot smoother too.

I'm so new I've really only done AMRAPs. I know my box does timed WODs, I just haven't hit those days. I'm hoping they have a time limit, or else they better leave the keys with me and let me lock up.

They promise me this ^^. I'm hoping it's true. Yesterday was geat! WOD was 12min AMRAP Turkish Get Ups. I was proud of my performance. Today, not so much. WOD was uphill sprint 4x200m - 4x100m. I had to scale it, did 2x200m - 6x100m. Pukey was coming to visit if I didn't. I workout out at 5:30 AM so getting in much water…

Wow, I really hoped I'd be more than 8 days into CF before I had a fail to post! Today was my 1st day out of on ramp and into regular group. I fell over backwards doing the snatch. The trainer tried to ease my embarrassment by telling me that meant my weight was too light.....not so effective when I'm laying flat on my…

Agree! I don't think I could have done anything to get me "ready" for CF. You just have to jump into the deep end!

Today was sooooo much bettter. It was my first day with the regular group. 10 rounds, 30 sec on/30 sec off double unders (or at last my attempt at DU) 12 min AMRAP Turkis Get Ups I felt ok the whole time and burned 874 kcal per HRM! My Pre CF workouts came in around 400-600 per hours. Last night I made up a batch of…

My 1st was Elizabeth, which thought would kill me. However, I felt worse today than I did after Elizabeth. I workout at 5:30 AM. I try to get up early enough to get a protein shake down before. I'm still working on my brain thinking cereal and yogurt are the only breakfast foods. Tomorrow I'll pop a sweet potato in the…

I am brand new to CF. I just completed my 5 session on-ramp/fundamentals classes. Before I signed up and started the classes, I did two free workouts. The days I visited, the trainers looked at the WOD, asked me what I was capable of and scaled it from there. I'm on the old side to be taking up CF - 52yrs - and I'll likely…

This makes perfect sense. I'm only 3 days in and find myself longing for something after dinner. I used to have a bite of dark chocolate after dinner and I'm pretty sure I'm just missing this. I'm not opposed to eating after dinner, but I find when I restrict my choices to Paleo foods, I don't actually want…

I was glad to see your post and thrilled you're having success! I started Crossfit last week and, after months of research, decided to dabble in paleo. I saw dabble because I'm a whopping 1.5 days in...  I lost 75# on WW 12 years ago and managed to keep that off. When I started working out about 5 years ago,…

Oh, man! I was so in until I read through the Whole30 guidelines and realized I have to give up my almond milk lattes because of the sugar free syrup! :noway: :noway: I officially started Crossfit today and thought it would be a great combo. I am interested to watch y'all progress. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I know I can learn CF and all that it has to offer. I just don't know if I can learn to turn off the competitive part of my brain. I'm sure it's going to be more mental than physical. Either way, I'm hoping changing up my routine will change up my body too!

Hey, I resemble that remark! Accurate logging didn't just break my plateau, it busted it to smitherines!
