  • I'm sitting EXACTLY where you are - up and down the same 3# when I was eating 1200 and still at eating 1800. Surely, we will find the sweet spot soon. I'm still trying to decide if I need to go up or down. In the meantime, I'm enjoying maintaining on 1800 instead of maintaining on 1200!!!!
  • Wow, 30% fat. I think MFP has me at 15%, which is hard to stay under since I love avocados and all other healthy fats. Would this be the same since I do tons of cardio?
  • 800 calories for a 4 hour workout?!?!? Man, you must be in top form. I average 750 just for one hour of kickboxing! I'm brand new to the sport, but loving it!  I ran a half marathon and burned 1200. Of course, it took me 2.5 hours. :embarassed: Snecker I'm certainly expert on weight loss, or I wouldn't…
  • I love this thread and reading the success stories!!! I'm hopeful that I might still become a success story, but not yet. I'm 3 weeks in to gradually increasing calories to 1900 ( @helloitsdan recommended 2000 for a while then increasing to 2200 every other day). As of today I'm up 1.2# over three weeks, though that can…
  • Oh, and Lucia , you're pretty much my hero. You're closer in age to me than most (though I'm still 10 years older) and you have the calorie intake and muscle definition I long for! Nice work missy.
  • Can I just put "magic land" in my GPS? Tab I too am losing/gaining the same 1-3# with 2 weeks of increased calories. I was also gaining/losing the same when I was netting 600-900 calories. If my scale can be trusted my BF is not changing either. However, I'm determined to give it a full 30 days to see what happens.…
  • I'm a newbie at eating more calories so I can't speak for results. I can speak for more energy and better workouts. I need to meet this hellitsdan....
  • So, one week after increasing my calories and I have a slight gain - which I'm working hard not to freak out about. The best news is I had the most intense workout this AM I've had in a long, long time (burned 1000+ calories) and I felt strong and amazing the whole time! I'll take that over weight loss any day.
  • 80/20 is me exactly. I eat healthy all week, dark chocolate every day, full fat everything, avoid as much processed as possible, and eat french fries every Saturday.
  • So, those of you who have tried the increased calories for a while and seen success - what are your average NET calories? I've been looking at gross (1750) and not eating exercise calories, but only for 5 days so I can't tell how it's going yet. My net is always below 1200 because I'm a gym rat.
  • If you were 15 year older we'd be Twins: Regina Female Height 5'6" Age 50 SW: 170 CW: 164 GW: 148
  • Here's another thread that I found very interesting. Great spreadsheet for calculating calories and projecting weight loss. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/491087-my-gift-excel-spreadsheet-for-bmr-tdee-cut-build-and-ma?error_user_id=13698812&error_username=rmk20togo I've mustered the courage to up my daily to 1750…
  • Found this link on another thread. It's very interesting, but gives me a really high TDEE. http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced
  • I'm a distance runner as well and didn't see any weight loss while training for and completing a half marathon. I attributed that to GU's, gels, Sport Beans, etc. If only my body would read all the calories in/calories out data.
  • I love that you reminded me about sore muscles. I did a 2 hour master circuit class on Saturday with tons of burpees, mountain climbers, jump rope, sprints, running stairs, and other calf-destroying exercises and my calves have gotten progressively tighter since. Today I can barely walk in flats. Monday I kickboxed and had…
  • LIfe long dieter here (lost 75# and kept it off for 8 yrs now). I ran across another thread Monday and then this one Tuesday that both convinced me to try increasing my calories to 1750. Two days with the increased calories and I've gained back the 1 pound I'd lost.......:grumble: I do have to rely on the scale rather than…
  • I am loving this thread and your comment. I lost 75# years ago with WW (and kept it off) and over the past 2 years started getting serious about losing 20# more. I've lost a grand total of 5# since June 2011. I've been a major gym rat and runner for about 4 years. When I started working out I saw amazing gains in my speed,…
  • This just made me a happy girl! I've reset my macro nutrients and calories (1750) and crossed my fingers. As I understand it, I can continue to log calories burned, just not eat them. If I start gaining, you'll hear me scream.
  • Ok, I've read all 15 pages on the thread, downloaded the spreadsheet and plugged in my number: Weight 73.94 (163lbs) Height 167.65 (66 inches) Age 51 (old by both systems) Activity Level 1.5 Body Fat 31.4% (high, but that's what my scale says) Current (average) calorie intake: 1400-1500 IF only: OFF days diff (10: 10%…
  • I wear a HRM and usually burn 750-850 calories in an hour. I do high impact Zumba and am literally dripping sweat in a puddle on the floor. Here's a calculator that hits pretty close to my HRM. http://www.zumbacalories.com/
