Had mine out just under 2 years ago. Didn't make any changes to my eating habits. Gotta say, having it removed was definitely worth it! Gallstones are the most unimaginable pain EVER! Good luck with your surgery!

I live in florida too. What I've done is go slower, but continue to up my mileage each week during training. The runs will be easier once it cools down. I personally prefer to run at night, but very early works for many people too. Good luck!

Friday & Saturday had Tour de Pain-Awesome race! Consisted of a 4 mile race Friday night, a 5 K Saturday morning, and a one-mile run Saturday afternoon. Did the mile in 8:14, which is super fast for me! That's a total of 8.1 miles for Friday and Saturday. WTD- 16.25 Ticker updated:

Slow down so you can finish. Don't worry about speed to begin with-you can always work on that later. I know for me, especially towards the beginning, the slower I ran the better!

Using the Galloway method to train for my first half this November! Anyone can feel free to add me :flowerforyou:

Oh, if you're looking at books too, I've started Lauren Brooks' Kettlebells for women. She gives detailed descriptions (and pics) of he different exercises, and it's a 3 month training plan with 15 different circuits. I've been following her plan for a little over 3 weeks now and it's been really great.

I use runkeeper and had similar problems at the beginning, until I realized I needed to turn my wifi off. For whatever reason, the wifi would make it look like I jumped all over the place, but everything is much more accurate with it off. I absolutely love runkeeper though...plus, it's free!

For me, I felt like a runner the first time (while completing C25K) I ran further than I was supposed to just because I wanted to. As far as when you start enjoying it, I still hate the first .5-.75 miles, but after that I love it!

Myomytv.com has lots of great free workouts as well as tutorials on the different moves. I love her stuff!

4.26 miles tonight! I can't remember if I actually posted earlier, but goal is 55.

August goal- 55 miles. I didn't make it last month due to missing a week from a chest cold, but I can do it! Plus, I start "official" half-marathon training this month :)

True. When going by TDEE you do NOT eat back exercise since its already built in. (the exception would be if you drop below BMR, but then you only eat enough to bring you up to BMR)

I had a similar problem for a bit and took a little over a week off to ice and rest before trying new shoes again. I wasn't giving my foot enough time to feel better before running again (even bough my pain also didn't start until around 2 miles). Hope your appointment goes well. Keep us posted!

I have a few friends who have run a half using he Galloway method and one friend who ran a full. They all recommended it so highly that I'm going to use it when I start training for my half :)

I agree with all of this!
