Btw, how DO you post a picture? I can't figure it out! I have tried to copy and paste, to no avail. If anyone can help this technologically-challenged gal, I'd be most grateful!
-
I had to make mine my profile pic because I couldn't get it to work otherwise... Anyhoo, I"m laughing because I'm a 40-year-old "girl" wearing pigtails, and loving it!
-
This actually made me LOL, like, for real!
-
OMG, are your eyes that naturally green, or are you wearing coloured contacts? Either way (and it doesn't matter) the colour really suits you...beautiful! I love this thread, it's making me feel all shiny and happy inside...might have to go make some pigtails too!
-
You are so cute! And yes, you could pass for even 14!
-
Love the braided pigtails too! You are a super-pretty girl (as are all you girls on here)!

I only have a treadmill, a couple of ankle weights, and two yoga mats...Need to expand! If it counts, I have a tv which plays a wide variety of workouts on my local cable...from Zunba to aerobics, to yoga. I want to get a Bowflex treadclimber real bad! Anyone have one?

I agree with the above...I am a counsellor in private practice and I see lots of teens with a variety of issues. I also agree with seeing the taking away of privileges as only a part of what you might do, not just the only thing you do...Yes it's important to maintain boundaries and consequences...She should still know…

That's an AMAZING transformation. You should be the poster child for weight-lifting. Lookin' hot, sister! Keep on rockin' those weights, it looks good on you!
-
Burgers...too rich! Anything with milk in it...VERY sensitive (you don't want to know details). For some reason, eggs...I think they're too rich too. Skittles...taste too sweet! And I used to eat them like the candy they are!

I JUST had the experience of someone deleting me because she didn't think I was as "motivated" as her, and in her opinion, every now and then I fall "off course" and she just doesn't have the time and energy to keep me motivated... WTF? I have been on here EVERY DAY since Dec.1/11 and yes, I have struggled, at times, but…

Yes, about 90% of the world is gray, not black and white and I wish more people would understand that too!
-
You are absolutely right. As has been already stated in the posts, antidepressants are oversprescribed and yes, pharmaceutical companies are big business...we've already covered that ground, if you read the previous posts. You husband's experience is an example of the quickness that exists in the medical field to instantly…

YES PLEASE READ THE GD POSTS BEFORE YOU REPLY!!!

Everyone really needs to read ALL the posts before they respond! To state again: Antidepressants CAN, but don't necessarily, cause: Weight gain. Cravings for sugary foods. Cravings for more food. Weight to hold on and not let go easily. A lot of this is trial aand error; the doc doesn't know which antidepressant will not…
-
You have to consult your doc, as what is "weight-neutral" for you may not be for everyone...There is likely a med out there that will treat your depression and not make you gain weight.
-
Sometimes. Would you think a diabetic's situation is "dire" because they had to take insulin everyday? It's really no different.
-
This is a generalisation. It may be true for one person, but not everybody who is depressed has PTSD...these are two separate diagnoses.
-
OK, I DID misunderstand you, because I agree with your clarification, partially. I think certain antidepressants can cause weight gain for certain people, regardless of what they eat. But, it's still important to be accountable, no arguement there!
-
WHAT THE ???? I don't think anyone was saying THIS and this thread is now going way off track! We are saying antidepressants can potentially cause weight gain in some people, not that it's a substitute for food and nutrition. Where you got this is beyond me, but this is how half-baked truths are born. Nobody said it had…

I'm sorry to hear that about your mom. Depression can be devestating to a life. I'm glad though to hear that you can still get a chuckle out of her. Good for you, and good for her! Your mom is a good example of one point raised here-that everyone is SO different. What works for one person can have adverse, or no effects…
-
Dude, I hear you and I share your pain. You are very correct!
-
Actually, many antidepressants have an anti-anxiety agent in them, which are used to treat anxiety even without depression.
-
If you got better with the "mind over matter" mantra, then you didn't have clinical depression. Y9ou may've experienced a short depressive episode, or, melancholy (which is a diagnosis.)
-
The youth that became suicidal on the antidepressants didn't NEED them to begin with, which is why the drug had an adverse affect. I agree, that antidepressants, and drugs in general, are highly overprescribed. However, there IS such as thing as CLINICAL DEPRESSION and this is what is being referred to here in these posts.…

Completely ignorant statement.

This is the most ignorant response I've read yet... To the writer, read the posts! Hello!
