  • My friend makes it all the time, and I've heard good things about it. I just bought a box the other day, and I am looking forward to trying it. Just need to find a good recipe!
  • For a race, mash ups are the way to go!! (whatthemashup.com for tons of free ones) and for slower runs T.Rex or a slower artist. I have trouble slowing myself down, so its good to have a slower beat. I have a crazy variety of music, and its not in playlists, so I stick with one artist instead of flipping through my iPod on…
  • If you focus on running, your body can learn to tap into fat storage.
  • Congratulations on having good smelling shoes and going out for runs with your son!
  • LOL, i hate that he wears them. the hipster inside him tells me 'i got them before everyone started wearing them!' he hosed his, i still make him put them outside. they just smell swampier.
  • I was going to suggest physical therapy, but you already made an appointment! Yay! I would just take it easy, stay on a flat surface. Don't do anything until your appointment, and there you can ask a LICENSED person who knows what they are doing for exercises/stretches you can do.
  • From going to races and stuff, people with the Vibram 5 Fingers are generally douche bags..theres just an overall negative opinion of what I've seen/heard. Up to you though. I wear minimalist shoes, I have a pair of Merrel Pure Gloves and New Balance Minimus trail shoes. By the end of summer I think I'm going back to…
  • i wash mine everyday. the sweat and oil that builds up kind of counteracts the shampoo stripping away everything. and don't rinse and repeat, you should be fine! you should definitely shower though!
  • Maybe like half a grapefruit, but usually NO. Save the food for when you get back. It'll just cause cramping.
  • It is more difficult to run outside, and even then that can very depending on the surface. Trail running is hard than side walk and sidewalk is harder than asphalt. I'd run on a variety of different surfaces, because you will probably encounter different surfaces at your 5ks. And don't forget to train on hills  You…
  • I only do cardio, and I'm around 14% body fat. I run about 30+ miles a week though. If I do weights, its only a 5 pound weight for a couple minutes. I hate counting reps. My goal is not to be muscular, I don't understand the whole 'lift heavy' talk.
  • There are lots of online body fat calculators. I just took my measurements and used a few different sites that came up in the search, and I got anywhere from 13-14% pretty consistently. Some use different formulas. Its the best way unless you want to go and get tested by a dr. And mes1119, they ask for your neck, wrist,…

  • I like the strawberry flavor. I drink it when its super hot and I know I should hydrate extra. However, it is SUPER sweet. I don't drink pop at all. All you need is like a quick squirt and you have enough, so you can dilute it as you please. One bottle is supposed to be 24 servings or something.
  • crumble them up and throw them away. or make a healthier cookie dough that you don't feel guilty eating.
  • I wouldn't. Give yourself a rest day and do a good walk or something. Make sure you are stretching after a run! If you are going to get serious about it, try investing in some compression socks or a marathon stick, something like that. They will help with healing and the knots!
  • this is what i was going to say! most of it is from the baby itself and extra blood and everything. just know that the weight gain is temporary and for the benefit of having a healthy baby!
  • Agreed!
  • Aren't most anti-biotics derived from fungus? Deaths from anti-biotics aren't frequent either. Just nasty yeast infections. Blegh.
  • Vitamins occur naturally and pills are man made? I'm not going to find ambien in a grapefruit...
  • Vitamins are different than pills. I don't believe anything really bad can happen from taking too many vitamins. In fact, I'd rather take a vitamin than pill. http://www.foodmatters.tv/articles-1/how-to-take-niacin-vitamin-b3-for-depression-and-anxiety…
  • Puppies.
  • im 32a. I just get the cheapy C9 target ones. they bounce, but i don't need to buy an expensive one.
  • B12 can boost your metabolism, so it could probably aid in weight loss.
  • I am so glad you shared that with everyone. Tell it again.

  • very nice! i have heard one quick way to tell if you are burning fat, is that even while sweating, your skin feels cool. i've noticed this during zumba and running (it was 80 out, so no reason i should be cold!!)
  • It just means your body has been pushed beyond its limits. Its why you see all those fat kids puking on "I Used to be Fat" and even healthy people at the end of a marathon.
  • I think it would be funny if you told them you had cancer, and then later on tell them that you were joking, and that you've been on a diet.
  • The salad I get at Mcdonalds (like a once a month, if that) is only 190 calories. Thats with grilled chicken. Not too bad. Its the dressing that kills it. Cottage cheese is good, relatively low in fat, and you get a great amount of protein. Who said Starbucks frapps were healthy? Are you like that lady trying to sue…
