I hurt my elbow while doing bicep curls. I kept working out anyway because it was bothersome and achey like you describe not intense pain. Thought it would get stronger and better with time. Well, that was a year ago. I finally went to the doctor and got steroid shots - twice. Finally decided that I need to really rest it…

FYI, I have owned a fitbit in the past.

I would suggest checking into the Garmin Vivofit. It runs circles around fitbit. No pun intended. You can see your info on your wrist anytime. It will sync with your garmin heart rate monitor. THE BATTERY LASTS A YEAR! Keeps track of calories, steps, sleep and milege. It syncs with MFP.. Increases your goal slowly each…

I would suggest that you also trade carbs for more protein. If your blood glucose is elevated, your body cannot burn fat. Your body will have to burn the sugar or store it so that it won't harm you. The fat will stay in storage until your glucose is normal. I have a glucometer that I purchased from Walmart. I like to know…

Sounds like you are doing the right things. Your mind might try to play tricks on you by telling you that you are wasting your time or not doing enough or doing the wrong exercises. Don't listen. Just keep eating whole foods. If it has a label, read carefully then don't eat it. You can't out exercise a bad diet (I tried).…

Everyone reacts differently to stuff but I get constipated and bloated when I eat whey protein. I can eat pea protein without difficulty. I am turning 60 years old this week and I will do a handstand on my birthday to celebrate so I am pretty sure my nutrition is on track. I have not tried Arbonne protein. I use Nutrasumma.

Probably can't return them so you might try wearing different socks or adding a little bandage until the shoes are broken in good.

All our muscles are made for working together (that's why they are all attached to one another) That is how they work best and get stronger. If you work a muscle in isolation, you will get muscles that are imbalanced. These muscles can pull on joints unevenly and can cause joint pain. Focus on compound.

The scales are pretty much worthless when it comes to measuring progress. You need to still take measurements to get an accurate idea of progress. Sounds like you are making progress if your clothes fit better. As to the weight gain - I can only speak for myself. I can gain weight FAST (5 lbs or more a week) if I am eating…

Our bodies can only tolerate a small amount of sugar in the bloodstream at any one time. We must either burn the sugar or store it or we would die. That is where insulin comes into play. It is the storage hormone. If all the storage cells are full then the level of glucose in the blood remains high. Excess glucose is…

ROTFLMAO. Beam me up Scotty. That was hilarious!

The more the merrier right? I also have been part of groups that have dwindled until only me and one other person were left. I have also been part of a group where the fearless leader quit! I love challenges and would love to be a part of this group.

We can't see what sweets are doing to the insides of our bodies. Our bodies can only tolerate a small amount of sugar in the bloodstream. We have to burn the sugar or store it. We release insulin to actually save us from death. Insulin's job is to shove the sugar into storage. When those storage places are full, the rest…

Just a heads up here.- Whey protein can cause a spike in blood glucose which leads to insulin release to cram that sugar into storage. I am not diabetic but I have a glucometer and check my glucose when I eat something questionable. I know the Quest bars are low carb and I have not checked my glucose response to them yet…

take pictures (even if you hide them)Take more pictures every month or so. and take measurements. Your weight may stay the same while your body changes, esp if you start lifting weights. My weight has stayed the same for 2 years but my measurements have changed esp in my waist and hips. The scale is an almost worthless…

I am in the same boat as gwen. I eat a variety of clean food. MFP always says that I will lose weight if I continue to eat xxx calories. I haven't lost even one pound for over a year now. This is ok with me because I also don't need to lose weight. Maybe that is the key.

As a diagnosed Celiac for 4 years, here is my 2 cents worth. Giving up flour is basically giving up junk food. VERY FEW things with flour are good for you. actually none come to mind. However, if you substitute gluten free processed products you are still eating junk. If you eat plain meats, fruits, and veges, you will…

30 day squats and ab challenge. lovin it!

This should make you realize that you have to make a lifestyle change that is permanent. Some people have metabolisms that can burn off junk food without much effort. I am not one of those people. Thanks to menopause, I have learned to eat clean and exercise to get strong. It has been my way of life for about 4 years now.…

You only need one weight. A 10 lb kettlebell ought to do it. Wal Mart has them and they come with a dvd or a poster or you can google kettlebell workouts on the internet. You can burn 500 calories or more in an hour and not have to take hardly any steps at all. Its amazing. The kettlebell will work your arms, shoulders,…

I have been gluten free for about 4 years now. You have to read every label at first. If you don't, you could be accidentally getting gluten and thinking that going gluten free isn't helping you when you are still eating small amounts of it. Since I can't eat the really good gluten stuff, I decided to take my food one…

When lifting weights, you should lift heavy to make a change. You should choose a weight that by the 6th repetition you are struggling and making faces. And for the elliptical, you did not say what intensity you are doing. If you are watching tv or looking at a magazine then you are dogging it. You must have intensity to…

I am not a coach. I drink Shakeology 3 or 4 days a week. I tried greenberry. good with almond milk and half a banana. I add a dash of almond extract also. I also like the chocolate and recently have been buying the strawberry vegan and the vegan chocolate. I also add half a banana and a dash of almond extract. Since I only…

Steel cut oats will digest slower with less glycemic load so it wont spike your blood glucose.

I used to be a major sugar addict. I did not want to eat anything that was not a simple carb or totally sweet. I tried several different methods like " no sugar till after 12 noon then game on" then no sugar till after 5 pm them game on. this method worked somewhat because if you start the day out with sugar then you keep…

As the others said, don't starve yourself. It took me over a year to lose my "last 10 lbs" You have to exercise, cardio and weight lifting are required. If you don't exercise, you will discover that you are skinny fat. = skinny but flabby. Being fit and muscular will always look better than being skinny. Don't pay much…

Use tape measure and fat calipers. I just saw a picture of a really hot looking young lady. She is 5ft 10 inches. Looks like she would weigh about 120 maybe 130 lbs. But she weighs 190lbs. Really. I'm not sure what scales are good for.

I agree with the eggs advice but watch how many yolks you eat = fat. As for bread, well the government has pushed us to believe that whole wheat bread is good for us because of the fiber. But they subsidize that industry so it is in their best interest to push wheat. It is supposed to digest slower but it still is just a…

fitbit helps if you are wanting to just encourage yourself to move. I have recently stopped wearing mine because just like all calories are not created equal, neither is moving. I lift weights and do other intense exercise that wears me out during the day yet sometimes I do not get 10,000 steps in. But I am building muscle…
