The same thing happens to me and probably everyone else. Your body has had more time to release water. You probably urinate again at 9, correct?

I'm down to the last 10-15 as well. I actually think it is much easier now because my goal is so close that I have a laser like focus! I got a little frustrated in January because my losses what they should have been according to calculations, so I realized that my deficit wasn't what I thought it was. So I figured out…

I agree, don't worry about what other people think. But i think maybe you were "skinny fat" at 120. Start a weightlifting program.

If you are unwilling to give up your daily frappuccino, then you don't want to lose weight badly enough. Ask yourself what you really want. (Although the stubborn attitude is a bigger issue than the sugar.) A frappuccino should be a TREAT. Maybe once a month. And even then get whatever the smallest size is. Find other ways…

L-glutamine does help with sugar cravings. I think you should continue taking it. I also think you should go cold turkey for three weeks. No added sugars at all for three weeks. This should re-set your taste buds so you want sugar less. Things you used to enjoy eating, like Blizzards, will probably taste disgustingly sweet…

I think your trainer gave you bad advice so far as your diet goes. If you increase your calories by 250/day, a total of an additional 1750 calories per week, and make no other changes, you will not start to lise weight. In fact, you might gain weight if you do this. And eating carbs at lunch vs. dinner does not matter.…

You need to ask people who have had jury duty at that particular court. Asking people here is not going to give you the information you want. I have been called to jury duty at three different courts. One had a cafeteria and vending machines, one had no vending machines but lots of restaurants right outside the courthouse…

It really isn't mysterious at all. There is something wrong with either your logging, your entry choices (some of the food entries in the FP database are wildly incorrect), your BMR or TDEE calculation, or your exercise burn calculations. Or a mixture of those factors. You should go back and calculate what your total…

Abdominal fat is always the first to go for me, followed by hips. And all the while some from arms, back, face, but those changes are more gradual and subtle. I lost a little in the bust initially, but I won't lose anymore from that area unless I get in the very low end of BMI, or even under weight, which I don't plan to…

I usually log it as low impact aerobics because the amount of calories in the FP database for low impact aerobics is about the same as what my gym claims which is supposedly based on science. (My gym provides calorie burns for all their classes. I think they had someone wear HRMs while they did the classes and then…

20 years go when I tried counting calories, I did tend to obsess a little and thought too much about food. It slowed my progress. I did better just reducing portions and eating "intuitively." (Which might have made it harder to maintain, though.) However, these days with online sites and apps like MFP, counting calories…

I would probably would be under weight by now if those predictions were correct. I did finally do the math and reduced my calorie allowance so my deficit would roughly match my weight loss. Doing so made this process less frustrating.

I must have missed that one. Do you remember his name? I wonder if Bettie Jo didn't wear shoes because it was difficult to find shoes that fit? Her shoelessness struck me as strange, too, and i tend to walk outside barefoot more often than most people I know do.

For Zumba and other cardio classes I like my New Balance WX867 shoes. I also have a pair of Ryka Transition shoes for cardio classes, but I needed to add an insole. For running I wear Asics GT-2000s. I also like the Asics Gel Kayano shoes.

Pilates equipment classes have helped me a lot. Iyengar yoga has helped, too, but probably not as much as the pilates equipment classes. I noticed big improvements after only a few months of the pilates equipment classes. Be sure to stretch your legs and feet and use a foam roller for self massage on hips, thighs, and back.

I have been forgetting to log my weight here. My starting weight was 160. My current weight is 157, so I am down three pounds. (Goal by Easter is 150.)

I've done this before. It's only a week, but hard to do. I would keep off the weight I lost, but perhaps just because it helped me get into a healthier mode of eating. I still make the soup periodically just because I like it and it is healthy and makes me eat more vegetables. I just don't follow the rest of the plan.

This is what I think as well. As a poster on one of the success stories said, don't start tomorrow. I spent X years (I don't remember how many years he said) starting tomorrow. Start today.

That and stop keeping candy and cake in the house if you want to lose weight, especially if you eat in the middle of the night. The initial post did sound like it was going to lead to a sales pitch.

I use the Nuva Ring. I love it. No pill to remember every day, no nausea and vomiting if I took it without enough food, no side effects to speak of. (I had a lot of problems with pills-- insomnia, acne, moodiness. No weight issues, though.)

I don't think the OP is in favor of taking this drug for binge eating, or at least not by itself. After all, she said "the root is emotional." She was just asking for our thoughts on the matter.

I have taken Adderall for off and on for years. (I went off it for a while when I was between doctors.) Back when I was actively binge eating, Adderall did not help in that area because my binge eating had nothing to do with feeling hungry. So I don't think this drug will be very helpful to most binge eaters which will be…

LOL. That's funny. I've lost 1.5 cats (my cat weighs around 12 pounds-- yes he's kind of big) and I want to lose one more, maybe one and a half. I have two pairs of pants I periodically check. They should fit after losing one more cat, maybe sooner because they sort of fit now, but like you said, they are disgracefully…

The problem is not what you eat, it's how much. Your metabolism does slow down a bit with age, but not enough to make a big difference and make you obese. This is an excuse. Also you must be eating when you're not actually hungry because you just said you don't get hungry and yet you are obese. That does not make a lot of…

I agree with you binge eating is all about emotional coping. This drug would probably set hopes too high which is especially problematic for people who have poor emotional coping skills. I think it could be useful if accompanied with counseling, but I think it would be best if taken only after several months of counseling.…

It sounds like all you had was a blood glucose test, no HbA1c test and no glucose tolerance test. Before medicating you, these tests absolutely must be done. Metformin is a serious drug. You should go to another doctor. This one sounds really bad.

Are you still taking Zoloft? When I took Paxil I gained around 25 pounds. I lost approximately within six weeks after I stopped it without trying. The weight just melted off. When I took Effexor, I gained something like 70 pounds. Unlike with the Paxil, this time the excess weight did not come off right away. It took a few…

I agree that peeling an orange isn't a big deal, but who said she needs to eat an orange??? No need to attack the poster. Plus, she's correct, oranges may not be the best choice for someone who wants something quick to eat on the go. So if she does want a piece of fruit, why not choose one of the many other choices that…

84 is not low. It is average. Normal healthy fasting glucose is 70-100. I agree about waiting on the metformin. Even when my fasting glucose was in the prediabetes range, 110-115, my doctor said I should not take it. Instead, increase exercise and modify your diet. Exercise at least four times a week, and when possible…

I agree that the BMI chart should be taken with a grain of salt, but the recommended range for people who are 5'7" says 159 is the top of the range, not 140. 140 is in the middle. What chart are you talking about? I am 5'7" and my goal is somewhere around 145 (this should put me at around 20% body fat), depending on how I…
