I have also noticed that the latest stories seem a bit more salacious than previous stories. I am hoping this is just a coincidence and not a new trend. I also could not get engaged with Joey's story. I was rooting for him in the beginning, but he was too full of excuses and whining for most of the episode. I was glad to…

I have this problem as well, but not nearly as bad as it was several years ago. You said you tried Adderall for the fatigue, but you did not say whether you are supplementing vitamin D. If not, you should. And what about your iron and vitamin B levels? For right now focus on diet. Some might disagree with this advice, but…

Thanks for continuing the challenges! I don't think I will make my Easter target (150), but I am still pleased with my progress. I think I am still on track to reach my goal weight by July. This coincides nicely with the goal I had already set for myself-- reach goal weight (140-145) by my birthday which is June 29.

Still at 156. But I think there's some slight inch loss. Pants that were a little tight two weeks ago now fit. :D What is funny and sort of sad is these pants used to be my "fat" size. :\

I used to use oral bc pills but at some point I became very sensitive to their side effects and had to stop taking them. Then I became very sensitive to my own normal hormonal fluctuations and was just a wreck. Now I use the Nuva Ring and I LOVE it. The hormone dosage is much smaller than with pills and since it is…

The passion in this thread is interesting. I dont think the OP was trying to force anyone to exercise. Just stop saying you dont have the time because most people do have the time, they just have other priorities. So just own it and say, I dont want to exercise because after do sixteen hours of x, y, and z, all I want to…

Wow. I don't think that is what she meant at all. You may be one of the few people who genuinely doesn't have time to exercise, but just 10 minutes a day of light exercise might help with your stress levels and mood. (How long did it take you to type that rant?)

Self control can wear out. Instead of focusing on self control, figure out why you feel the need to binge. Learn what your triggers are and figure out more effective ways of coping with them. Also make sure you are meeting your needs-- e.g., solitude, working on a project, dancing, spending time with friends, helping…

I just have hardly anything to do with either one of them, but it has taken a lot of work to get to this point.

Or your friends dealt with it in a different way-- over-spending? gambling? sexual acting out? drinking? drug abuse? Or their family were supportive which minimized the "side effects." It is the after effects which are so harmful. I am almost 45 years old and I am still coping with the after effects-- my parents like to…

Thank you. I was very disturbed by the post above which seemed to discount the severity and consequences of sexual abuse. I was sexually abused at the age of 11. That is when I started sneaking food, lots of it. It didn't become a lifetime thing (I stopped when he stopped), so I never had a weight problem until I was in my…

This is a hormonal issue caused by fluctuating hormones which is fairly common as women get older. I started having periods like this when I was in my early 30s. At first it was just a few days of spotting, then nothing for a week or so, then my real period would start. Gradually the breakthrough bleeding got longer and…

The biritanyherself method doesn't work for me, either. I think it would put me in like a 32I or something like that when what fits me well is a 32F or 32G. But that method is still better than the old add five inches thing. At least the biritanyherself method puts you in the right size band and then you can work from…

Since you're in the UK, check out figleaves.com and bravissimo.com. (Bravissimo also has dresses and tops for busty women.) And if you're not too far from a nice department store, go for a fitting. Make sure you're in the right size. A lot of women wear the wrong size which is uncomfortable and also unflattering.

This is a beautiful story on so many levels, very poetic. The photos go well with it, too. I am so glad she could see you run and enjoying yourself, and you could feel her pride. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I do the same, but I live in Dallas, so it's not that difficult. We rarely have extended periods that cold. The last two weeks have been unusually cold (but not every day below freezing). I didn't have to work President's Day and it was extremely cold. So I got up in the morning, took off my pajamas, only to put on another…

Not if it is in addition to your regular meals. You might end up consuming too many calories and gain weight if you don't make other changes. A healthy diet should already contain a reasonable amount of protein. Improve your current diet first, tracking everything. Then worry about adding shakes (or not). I easily consume…

You probably should eat more than 30-40 grams of protein daily. More like 60, at least.
-
All that matters for weight loss is calorie reduction. However, increasing protein might make you feel more full and make it easier for you to eat at a deficit. Some people on here say to eat 1 - .8 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass, but I have read lower numbers elsewhere. I aim to get around 75 grams per day…

Too much fructose can cause diarrhea. Cut back on fruit.

The UK has wonderful bra companies. Try Panache, Freya, and Fantasie. And the UK has figleaves.com and bravissimo.com (which includes clothes for busty gals).

I usually eat two meals, lunch and dinner. Sometimes I have a small afternoon snack (usually nuts). The days I eat breakfast I don't usually eat lunch. I tried the three meals + two snacks a day plan several years ago. I hated it. I found myself thinking about food all the time, felt a little stressed over all the food…

I think there is probably a 1-2 week, or maybe longer, lag between calories in and calories out. There are probably tons of variables as to why sometimes a loss shows up quickly and sometimes there is a long lag, e.g., water weight, carb intake, your menstrual cycle, how well you're sleeping, etc. So look at the month…
-
I usually don't, but I will eat more if I am hungry or feel sluggish, or if I am in the mood to indulge and want an extra nice meal. When I had more to lose, I ate more exercise calories than I do now (maybe as much as half of them) though, because I had such a long way to go and I didn't want to feel deprived. Now that I…

I took Celexa many years ago and lost weight. I had no appetite and couldn't sleep. My depression got much, much worse. I only took it for about a month, though. Lots of people gain weight on anti-depressants, but not everyone does. I gained a lot on Effexor, but the weight gain was the least of the problems that Effexor…

Thanks! However, I looked for it and it is not coming up. Do new exercise entries take a while to become available?

Start weight: 160 2/9: 159.0 2/16: 158.0 2/23: 157.0 3/2: 156.5 Easter goal: 150 So far 3.5 in this challenge. Still 6.5 pounds to go, but I have been very disciplined the last few weeks and weight loss has been good. So I think I have a good chance of meeting my goal by Easter, or if not, I think I will come very close.…

Larger sizes, like above 10 or 12, have a larger range, like two inches between sizes instead of one. So to go to from a 20 to an 18 will take 20-25 pounds, wheras from a 10 to an 8 usually takes around 10 pounds. Where you lose from might also factor in. For example, if your hips lose faster than your waist, it might take…

I eat a few squares of dark chocolate every day. Also orange juice mixed with water (1:7 ratio).

Some psychiatric medications increase appetite and can lead to weight gain. (That's why I am here!) However, in most cases it takes a few months for the appetite to increase. Initially you may lose weight. Being on psych medication long term is not a good idea, regardless of weight gain/loss. (Of course some people do need…
