the one thing to remember is, to factor in the calories you would have burnt if you had of done nothing at all... for example, if you do strength training for an hour, and your heart rate monitor says you burnt say 180 calories, for me about maybe 60-70 (at a guess) of those would have been burnt by just existing, so if…

nothing very helpful to add, just wanted to say i got a shock when i realised an apple is actually quite high in calories!! i guess from the sugar content. good luck on your journey :-)

I want to, and am going to have, a smoking hot body this summer in bikinis.... and grown men will marvel at my strength in the gym (haha already happened once!)

absof*ckinglutely :D

I work in a gym! and six weeks ago started actually using the equipment - lol. Stay tuned.

oh wow, i can't stop! i hate cardio - so the thought of having to do it to lose weight soon sees me adding up every calorie, so i can lose weight simply by watching what i am eating. for me its a no brainer, its count calories, or get the *kitten* on the treadmill!

okay so my advice wouldn't be to alter any paths, or change any experiences, i have truly lived, loved, laughed and played hard.... it would more be just to let myself know that these mountains are actually molehills - being young, single, with no real responsibilities is something that only happens once - so love harder,…

9 to Bronwyn - you look so happy and like you would be a lot of fun - and an awesome friend to have in real life. Am i right??!!
-
you again :p Looking good - show us your V thing ;-)

resistance training baby!! and lift heavy! if it feels easy then it won't be doing much for you. if you can't get to a gym then stuff like: squats, pushups, chin ups, ab crunches, lunges etc. Good luck!

10 oh to be young again ;-)

oh wow - its hard to do it all.... i am not very organised and seem to just wing it most days.... i do plan when i am going to get to the gym at the start of the week, and i make it a priority, its the only way it will happen when you are juggling work, kids, after school activities, running a household etc. i guess i…
-
I log it as 'circuit' in the cardio section..... i have a heart rate monitor and i once wore it for my strength training and i can assure you, calories are being burned! the less rest period between sets etc can make it more intense, or by lifting heavier weights. strength training is the best method to reshape your body -…

I have one for my morning tea at work today :-) I stuck a few chocolate chips in some of the muffins for my kids. Very excited :-)
-
the last time i was eating 1200 calories and not eating back my exercise calories, my body stopped losing weight too - funny that! i would only consider doing something drastic like that if i had say 3 weeks to fit into a wedding dress or something, and i would be fully prepared to put the weight back on once i started…

I did the same thing last year, ordered my dress a size smaller. It worked for me :-) Good luck :-)

eating 1200 calories a day and burning 500-700 through exercise, and NOT eating anything back sounds pretty extreme to me? Am I wrong? I eat 1300 calories a day, and do no cardio, cos I'd rather not stuff my face, than stuff my face and then spend 7 hours a week on a treadmill..... I'm losing weight slowly and losing…

I'm from Victoria :-) Not what you were asking I know!

I am 5"2 and am 123lbs. I'd like to be around 116lbs, but truth be told - I am now less concerned with what the scales say, and I will be happy when I lose my final bit of belly fat and slight fat on my hips. It doesn't matter what the scales say, when I lose that bit of fat, I will be strutting in a bikini like Beyonce.
-
well you could start with push ups on your knees? thats what i do.... i must try doing them on my feet & see if i can do them now.
-
yeah you could totally do that... 20 minutes of cardio and then some weights.... you could stick to upper body one day, lower body the next day which would be easy to remember. i don't personally exercise my arms specifically at the moment, because all the weights i do for my bigger muscle groups (back, chest, shoulders,…

Hey Heather! I used to work as a fitness instructor, and I currently work in a gym behind the reception desk. Here are some points I recommend although this is just my personal opinion. You need a day of rest after working out. So this means you can do the same weight training routine with a day off in between, or a day of…

Hey Heidi, Awesome!! Well I'm not sure I lift heavy, but its as heavy as I can - and I increase the weights whenever I feel I can. Woo hoo I have some friends now! LOL
-
Hey there Heather... Strength training becomes quite addictive! I've only been doing it 6 weeks but after about 3 weeks I started seeing results, and it had become quite a habit. Cardio not for me - I'd rather watch what I eat than spend forever on the treadmill trying to burn it off.
-
does this fill you up as a meal? or do people have a big salad with it? its interesting, i am going to try it.
-
you look awesome! we are a similar weight - just wondering how tall are you? you look waaaaay thinner than me :-)
-
40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat.... i never reach my protein though and always overdo the fat.

ooops sorry my first time posting - when i replied to the post i didn't see any of the photos, then once i posted they all popped up! Cheri I would love to know how much time elapsed between your weight training before photo, and the 'after' photo. you look amazing.
