I think drinking sweetened drinks instead of plain water also desensitizes your taste buds so when you actually enjoy sugar, it takes way more to "hit the spot" than if you were drinking your water plain.

I think you just have to get used to drinking water by forcing yourself to drink it until it becomes a habit and then a ritual. By then it will be second nature.

Building muscle strength may be the best solution to your injuries. Going for physical therapy may be very beneficial for your injuries and weight loss (two birds, one stone). Good luck with your goals!

I think water is an aquired taste and you will like it eventually. this is what I told myself and it actually worked out; I only drink water during the day now.

The fact that he wants to drink in itself is not a problem but he said he would stop for you and now he won't. That could be looked at as a lack of integrity. Also, if he won't support you by not drinking, and won't support you losing weight (your profile says he wouldn't mind if you gained weight), then maybe having a…

Doing that only makes me cranky... Mine is: that creating a huge caloric deficit is a good idea. I finally started eating my exercise calories (well about 3/4 of them) and have my calories set to lose 2 pounds/week and i'm a very happy person b/c of it.

Doesn't seem like an obession to me! PB is great stuff when you budget for it. I thought this thread was going in a much different direction lmao!

I'm kinda sad I won't be partaking in the festivities tomorrow but I have a nasty two week plateau to deal with and I'm not trying to increase my appetite =..)..... To all those who will be a part of the festivities, please take a toke for me and all the others like me lol.

I'm 6'2" and started out at 285. I got my results from working out and logging every day.

Let's go Rangers! I see them getting the presidents trophy, beating the caps, then the devils, and facing the bruins or flyers in the conference finals =)

I watched the segment and the Dr. who did the study saw increases in LDL after replacing the subjects' diet with 25% sugar for 2 weeks. I'm sure most people don't eat that much sugar or do they?

Thanks! (BUMP)

That's what I call a titty piccer upper pro lol

A good alternative would be cottage cheese plain or with some fruit in it. I eat breakstone's 2% that is packaged individually (90 calories) and sometimes add strawberries and/or blueberries to it.

Of course avoiding the buffet is the best thing to do but otherwise, just resolve to only fill up one plate and look for things that aren't fried and have veggies in it. I had to travel for work and there was a breakfast buffet every morning so I decided to fill my plate once only and I only had some eggs, some bacon (2…

I also read somewhere (I think it was from Tom Venuto "burn the fat, feed the muscle" but I could be wrong) that going from maintenance level calories for x days to a significant deficit for x days and then back maintenance is much more effective than simply keeping a caloric deficit. Its almost like interval nutrition and…

When you take a 1-hour exercise class (that used to take forever but now just flies by) and get kinda sad when it ends.

I love my body enough to make the right choices for it and that is why it is changing. Now, I'm not totally happy with the way it looks. I mean who loves flabb over a muscular look? But, I accept my body for what it is and i'm just excited to see what lies ahead for it as I continue on this journey.

black and white outfit?

Don't be afraid to have a cheeseburger if you want one, and enjoy it. This will help prevent binging. I have at least 1 meal like that per week and sometimes more, but I keep within my calorie goal and its been working well =)

I must say the menu is kinda challenging! That being said, I would go wth the pork loin also and ask that they don't put any oil on the loin before they cook it. Some restaurants like to add oil or butter on meats for flavor but that would defeat the purpose of making such a smart choice.

There is nothing wrong with being a slow loser! If you lose a pound or two per week I think it's more likely to stay off long-term. It may also have to do with what your eating and how much your working out. If your honestly doing the right things you will lose weight. I stick to a few rules that have been working for me…

I'm going to buy a very nice suit and maybe even one of those skinny ties Henrik Lundqvist wears! LoL

I did WW and it helped a lot. My wife currently does it and is helping her as well. I am using MFP because it's free and it works! Plus, I’m in a boot camp in new hyde park which recommended it.

I have a brother and friends who were like that also but now that they are in their late 20's and early 30's they are gaining weight and watch what they eat! Going to your question, I enjoy my food but it is not lower in flavor at all. I like using spices (fresh ground pepper, paprika, etc) in all of my meals. Also, I…
