Like the others said - you have to rinse them A LOT - and then dry fry them for a minute. that gets rid of the fishy smell. I use them in soups, or with a tomato sauce. The Hungry Girl website has a lot of recipes with the shirataki noodles - I've tried many of them, and they are pretty good!

Going back to the original post - as a public school teacher in the US, I can assure you that if there is a problem, the school is working with the family to help them with their basic needs.....if they need it. :)

I use Brummel and Brown, it's made with yogurt and has 35% vegatable oil. It has 45 calories for 1 tbsp, 5 grams total of fat, only 1.5 saturated. It tastes like margarine to me. I love it!!

I use Shirataki noodles all the time. It's 40 calories for the whole pack. You do need to rinse them well. I love them......I use them in everything! Edited to add: I only like the Shirataki from Whole Foods, I think the brand name is House Foods or something like that.

I bought my copy on Amazon. It is a great workout - but as with anything, you gotta put in your effort! the only thing I can't stand......is her voice.
