1/17 = 3.5mi Ran too much for my body the last two weeks, so took a couple days off. This is me, too. The crowds, parking, etc. just aren't my thing. My goal is to do a Half this year, but on my own, like my 10k last fall.

Thank you. I owe a bunch of it to my dog, who requires a good amount of walking to stay at a healthy weight. I swore to the vet he wouldn't gain this winter like he usually does! This challenge is showing me that I need to do more cross-training and I need to think about that... Thanks, again for organizing it!

Music is in my blood, too! I'm a classically trained musician - have a degree in flute performance and have played both piano and organ since I was 6. I work in another field. There are just too many flautists out there and think I should have chosen bassoon! I do still enjoy practicing and playing, but don't get to do it…

I lost 45# and donated them. I hated them. No way I'm allowing myself even the thought of going back. No way!!!

Life happens and it always will. Sometimes things go like we want and other times, they don't. I suggest ignoring your feelings and doing what needs to be done anyway. Indulging yourself in the bad feelings doesn't really accomplish anything other than feeling bad. (Believe me, I know this from experience!) You CAN do…

Great, I'm really happy about this!

Is this a closed challenge or would I be able to join? I have been running for almost two years now and have a Half Marathon goal for this year. I'm definitely committed, on a winter training schedule now, and will start the Half training in the spring when the weather's a little better here in MN. This would really seal…

Agreed! I got lucky in that they were the first pair I chose. Tried others afterward just to see and what a mistake! I need the cushion these offer due to my bad knees. Love the Nimbus!!!

Rain = yes. It bothered me for a long time that people might watch/judge my running. Now, not so much. The good thing is that it's changing as I lose weight and get better at running. If I'm honest with myself, I'm still too aware of it to be completely comfortable.

Me! I could use more friends in that same range, too! You can add me.

Wow, so glad you hear someone say that! I HATE the first 2.5-3mi every time. I LOVE the next 3mi. So far, my long runs are 6-8mi, so I don't know how I'll like what comes afterward. To the OP, definitely start with Couch to 5k to build the stamina needed to run it and get your body and mind used to running. It may seem…

Agreed, it comes from inside, from wanting what you say you do more than the status quo. I think it's a good idea to make the goals doable in order to establish a pattern of success. Personally, I LOVE checklists! So, I documented my workout/running goals and got the "thrill" of checking them off each day and seeing the…

Goal = 150#. That's 47# to lose (already lost 40#) and 3# below my HS weight of 30yrs ago. I might fall over dead if I make it, though. Hmmm, value conflicts... :)

Good luck to you! I'm starting fresh for 2012, too! I've lost 45# in the last 2yrs, but stalled at the end of last year. Just kept going up and down the same 4# or so. I'm sooooo ready to begin anew this year and get rid of the next 40#!!!

I'm 46. I've been here for a quite a while and track daily. I've lost 45#, but am starting fresh for 2012 and am working on the remaining 40+# I'm going to lose. I would love more support and will be great at offering it, so any of you can feel free to send me a request.

I got a 305 this summer and it's helped my running a lot! I love it! The only negative is that I sweat a ton and have to put a wristband under it on the hot day or it gets a little annoying. I just got the attachment for my bike and am excited to set it up this wknd.

I'd love to be included! Count me in!!!
