  • YES! The hands on knees, leg crossing looking cool thing! Thats it! Now I will make it through the boredom with a serene I'm not bloated smile on my face! Or at least just comfortably crossing the legs and staying awake...another thing that has now become a new possibility is leg crossing...Lol!
  • Anybody know where to rest your hands during boring meetings? 2 inches of jolly jelly belly gone...can't put them there anymore... Anybody?
  • Hello everyone! Well, it was a good week. Work was fine and home remains good. My waist is definitely down nearly 2 inches which feels interesting. I really didn't realize the belly was that full of jolly jelly! NSV: I broke the 15 min mile barrier in my before work exercise session this week. I was so shocked because I…
  • @bookyeti - that was really an interesting synopsis...thanks!
  • Arctic Zero...OMG! It is 150 calories for the entire pint of frozen nom nom ness! Try vanilla maple. Throw on a teaspoon of almond slivers and a squirt of whipped cream...be ready to be happy happy! (Arctic zero is frozen whey protein. You probably could make at home but for some reason I can't get it creamy like the store…
  • Hello! @ron2e - those were great tips. Maybe it's water retention due to sodium for me also...nah, it's the bread basket and after dinner fancy chocolate things that make you wonder where to insert your fork but somehow you get it in there and next thing you know 500 calories have landed on the watch out or keep it forever…
  • Hello everyone! Glad to be back to this positive place! So, has anyone else had a non scale victory this week? Please share. Nothing beats success whether its on the scale or off. @sjo68 - hope you are back on track with the c25K; that sounds like a fun goal and I am thinking I may try to walk a 5K this fall too…
  • I won't lie and say it happened overnight but it does happen. I average 1600 now but am down from an average of 2400! I figured out that I was getting a huge amount of calories from soda and high carb foods like fries and bread and rice. I dumped the full calorie soda for diet cherry coke or diet Pepsi, I reduced the…
  • Hello everyone! @ron2e - the trousers being way too big is a serious NSV! Thank you for sharing. We all need hope on this journey and that was just great! @jehan - I'm with you on the coordination. I'm not ready for bands. I hesitated with the arm weights because I was worried I might hit myself...seriously! And your NSV…
  • I want to challenge everyone in my pal circle to NSV WEEK! Starting with cinco de mayo/May 5th and going for a full week. So, sometime between now and next Sunday midnight please share a Non Scale Victory that is significant to you...like that smaller pant size, that faster mile, that double workout, abstaining in the face…
  • Hey everyone! @lovekoko320 - welcome aboard! @jehan - good luck with the c25k. I think you are inspiring me to make that my September goal. I think I can work up to three miles by then. @melissawannal - I'm with you on the 50 pounds. Hang in there. We can do this. @megblackburn - thanks for explaining elephant…
  • Grilled salmon, salad, broccoli. And my reward is a diet cherry coke and maybe some chocolate Arctic Zero frozen whey protein. Yum!
  • Hey! Happy Monday soon to be Tuesday! Tnsummer- sounds like an excellent end to the semester...enjoy! Sjo68- I'm really blown away by the 1000 calorie burn. Maybe some day I will be able to run like that. I'm happy to finally be doing a mile every morning before work. I do some free weights to round out my 30 minutes but…
  • Oh I am into these! I use shirataki noodles to make baked spaghetti and Mac n cheese! Before these, I was seriously missing pasta. Now I eat pasta with a quarter of the calories and not many carbs. Crazy but true. Yes they do have a scent out of the bag but I triple rinse with warm water and they are fine. You have to prep…
  • I like this thread. Seems nice! Just jumping in and hope I can keep up. Me - I'm trying to get back in shape after slacking for two years. I've loss 22 lbs in about 7 months so far, and I'm on the slow road intentionally. Im looking for a sustainable path this time. I lost this weight in 2008 to 2009 on extreme low carb.…
  • My grandmother: You can't become what you wish to be if you remain as you are. Once a task is begun, never stop until its done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all. Pollan: Eat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. Jillian: Move!
  • Did someone say BANG BANG! Those are serious guns. You look divine. Now you can go sleeveless with no arm chicken wing flapping...I want to be like you girl! Keep it going! Wow!
  • Bump for endofthiside for one little change at a time. One bite at a time got us here and one step at a time will take us to the next level. Double bump again for habit plus motivation being the key. I enjoyed how positive this string was. Have a good week everyone!

  • Bump on habit being stronger than just motivation alone.
  • You are a ROCK STAR! Way to go! You put yourself out there and you literally grabbed the brass ring (which was a flag in this case). Yeaaa girl...you got it going on! Keep grabbing those flags on your journey!
  • This is cool: - I decided I loved myself enough to honor myself by eating right and getting exercise for the rest of my life. I no longer looked at "my goal" as the end all be all.
  • Funny but this was seriously on mind today...thanks for posting this question... I lost my wonderful mother after her long and painful battle with diabetes recently. She lost this battle piece by piece...kidneys, heart, and a leg. It was not pretty. This is a lesson that I try to keep on my mind when I don't want to walk a…
  • Yet another study that you May want to read http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/26/which-diet-works/
  • I love almond flour! I use it like regular flour in pancakes and baked goods. It is expensive compared to ap flour but I eat less of it due to the richness and density of the goodies so it works out. It helps me stay on track with my lower carb approach. Try these as ideas:…
  • Holidays are tough for most of us so don't worry. I just loss the pounds from the holidays through January and now am down to two less than November weight. Focus on the calories (and carbs if you are like me). I didn't focus on exercise until I got 10 pounds off and started feeling better, less tired. Now, I just get up…
  • Way to go! You are really getting that skinny waist thing going! We see it and are proud of your work. People in your life may be scared to comment since they don't know what is going on with you. Maybe have a girlfriend party when you get to a significant goalpost and share your new WOE (way of eating) with those…
  • If you enter your exercise, I have noticed that the diary adjusts everything up a bit including carbs. I do not know if that is good or bad. I try not to depend on that and try to just focus on the carbs not the calories. My goal is the carbs. Good luck on the journey!
  • http://www.fatsecret.com/recipes/cinnamon-breakfast-muffin/Default.aspx This a really good and easy low carb option. I add nuts to mine! Delicious!
  • I have used Wrap-Itz Lo-Carb Wheat Tortilla from time to time.
