It really depends on the man. If he is intelligent, thoughtful, insightful, witty.....the age difference (unless it's ridiculously so), is inconsequential.

Get frozen yogurt or Skinny Cow ice cream. That way you can indulge in your craving but still stay "good"!!

I keep a small bag of very good chocolates in the fridge and allow myself one per day, which I enjoy slowly. It helps knowing I can still enjoy a special chocolate treat and still keep to the plan. :D

The best advice I got was - start so slowly that people laugh at you! Lol! My first goal was to get up to 3 mph for 20 minutes. Now, I run Half Marathons. Slow and steady. Take things slow and steady.

Dear 16 Year old Me - the Most Likely to Succeed at school, won't. The Prettiest won't be for long. You are better than you think you are. You'll find out that there were people jealous of shy, insecure YOU. Find who you are and stay true to that. There's no reward in trying to please everyone. Be yourself and embrace it.

Go for it! There's a great saying - if you don't quit, you can't fail!!! :D

If I have days when I know I'll be taking in more calories (like eating out with family or friends), I make sure I work out to accommodate as much as I can. You also can measure your calories per week instead of per day. The principle still works; calories in vs calories burned.

There are two women at the gym who do what I can only describe "Interpretive Elliptical"! They'll wave their arms dramatically one-at-a-time in large, fluid circles, toss their head from side to side, point upwards and then swing their arms around again. It is ludicrous! (I don't laugh at those ridiculous girls who make-up…

I take some solace in that I'm not alone. I'm totally on-board with the comment above that a box of Thin Mints contains two servings - one serving equals one sleeve. ;)

Thank you!

"Don't Bring Me Down" by ELO; "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga, "Love Shack" by the B52's.....

Sparking water with lemon got me over my soda habit. The bubbles really helped! :)

When human hair looks more like a doll's hair, I think it's gone too far.

I'd suggest starting with a Les Mills' Body Pump class (or something similar), which is an excellent introduction to weight training. If the instructor is good, you'll get help on proper form and learn many exercises for major muscle groups. Also, hire a personal trainer for a couple of sessions to give you a routine and…

Insulting, demeaning and ridiculing overweight people is one of the few "acceptable" prejudices in our overly PC world.

In my experience, because single men my age are obviously single for a reason. The good ones stay married.

I found it useful to make several smaller goals and attach specific non-food rewards to each of them. This way, you have a real sense of accomplishment throughout the journey; not just at the end. Also, as others have said prior, keeping track of monthly measurements is extremely useful and encouraging when you look at it.

Amazing AND truly inspirational!

I love Body Pump. For strength training, I do it twice a week and add a day interval training to that.

1 lb of anything weighs exactly the same as 1 lb of anything else. 1 lb is 1 lb. As others have said, it's a matter of density. In other words, 1 lb of muscle takes up less space in the body than 1 lb of fat. So, if you weigh 160 lbs and you're athletic and fit, you will be SMALLER than a 160 lb person who has extra weight…

As others have said here - I think its vital to have BALANCE. If you feel deprived and punished, you're not going to succeed. It's best to eat as healthy as you can simply for good nutrition's sake but I believe having something every day that's a treat is important. The key is to ensure it is counted in your daily calorie…

Don't rush into anything. When you've been married, it takes some time to get single again. You do not want to bring any previous "baggage" into something new. \ Even if you have lost something that may not have been good, it is still a loss and you have to deal with that psychologically. Your priority is keeping you and…

I've found that sparkling water is an excellent substitute for soda (pop). I get to enjoy the bubbles that I like but without any of the calories, chemicals or sugar. At home, I'll drink Arrowhead with Lemon or Perrier with Lemon. At a restaurant, a lot of them will carry some kind of sparkling water like Pelligrino,…

If you don't think you can attend without pigging out then staying home is the far better option. You have to put YOURSELF and YOUR needs as the priority until you know you can enjoy these functions and eat carefully.

"Born this Way" by Lady Gaga (and I'm not much of a fan of her music but that song is fantastic to train to.)
