  • I pay approximately $60/month. Gives me access to four student gyms. Although I'm no longer a student, I prefer going there cause people are my age, it's cheaper while still having all the apparatus and classes I need. Additionally it's the closest gym to where I live (10 min walk).
  • Good thing you pointed out which person you were in each photo, cause I did not recognise you! The change is awesome and you look amazeballs :-)
  • Not counting my mother, who sees me every day working out, I'd say I'd lost about 25 lbs before people actually started commenting. Then at 30 lbs I started getting a lot more comments. I think that people start noticing a lot earlier, but are reluctant to ask. One of my best friends phrased it like this when she asked…
  • I do this too! It's just 10 grams, and it has a lot of health benefits that may even help in the weightloss journey :-)
  • May 1st: 202 lbs May 7th: 199.5 lbs May 14th: 199.5 lbs May 21st: 197.5 lbs May 28th: Target loss this month is 5 lbs :-)
  • I would change the daily activities in my fitness profile to say active rather than add the calories. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided
  • I'm also 23 and always looking for new friends in similar situations to keep me motivated :-)
  • Glad you asked the question! I started at 202 lbs, and hope to end at 197 :-)
  • 5 pounds is my goal, although more would of course be nice :-) I also have a goal of being able to run a 5k.
  • Hey, I added you :-) I'm 23 and use MFP quite actively. Could always use more supportive friends on here :-)
  • I'd say that it's fairly high impact, but you can reduce the noise level by doing the cardio sections without shoes. It's only 30 minutes every day, and only 6 minutes that might get a little noisy. I'm sure your neighbours will understand :)
  • Sennheiser MX 680i Sports headset Elizabeth Arden Lash Optimizer Before was that a bunch of plane, train and hotel bookings for a trip to England.
  • I've only ever deleted one person, and that was because she was very negative and condescending in all of her updates. On MFP I want to surround myself with positive people who keeps me motivated, and those who really need my support as well.
  • For achilles pain you should also watch the kind of surface you're running one. Try to vary the surface and softer is better. Running up hill can also be extra strenuous on the achilles. Good luck, and hope you find the right shoes :)
  • I did C25K and 30DS at the same time. It worked out because the first couple of weeks of the C25K aren't that tough, so I managed to do both on the same day just fine :-) I definitely recommend doing the C25K! Just do it at your own pace - don't worry about speed or repeating some weeks. You'll start seeing your fitness…
  • Amazing results! Not many people can pull off that dress :-) Good luck on your last pounds!
  • I'm 5'10 and my first goal is to get to 160 and then 155 pounds or where ever in-between that feels right. I just want to be at a normal BMI :)
  • From what I've read, carbs are recommended before the workout - as they're part of the fuel that you burn. Meanwhile proteins should be consumed afterwards to help you build muscle and speed recovery. I'm horrible at following nutrition advice though, so I often grab a banana after a run..
  • Yay, I just finished week 9! I'm happy but also eager for more :-P Right now I'm in the same place as iamchristyl - I can run for 30 minutes but that doesn't get me even near 5k. In the next weeks I'm going to try reaching 5k and also to improve my speed.
  • I'm doing Ripped in 30, random upper body strength training, swimming and resting in addition to C25K. I was also doing the 30 Day Shred every day of the first month doing C25K.
  • I just added Christina Aguilera with 'Fighter' to my list. An oldie but a goodie :-P It really gets me motivated!
  • I'm at week 9 now (almost done!) and three things that improved my running were: 1. Stretching before running 2. Focusing on proper breathing 3. And knowing that you are much stronger than your brain thinks you are
  • For me stretching before (and after of course) running really helped. A general tip is to buy properly fitted running shoes as well. I had shin splints when I started C25K, but I'm at week 9 now and I'm not bothered anymore. If you do a search on the forums, there is lots advice to be found on this topic :-) Good luck!
  • I'm finally done with week 8! Day 2 went great and I just kept running to 30 minutes. Then I went on a week vacation that involved a lot of walking but also a lot of eating out. Had a go at Day 3 when I came back, but quit after 23 minutes. Did it again today and it went fine. I'm noticing that my heart rate is pretty high…

  • I just got my first pair of proper running shoes and I'm so pleased. The brand is Saucony Powergrid Triumph 9, which is for neutral runners. They were pricier than I'd planned, but out of all the pairs I tried, they felt just right. The colours are crazy, but I love them still :-P
  • I'm 23 and always open for new, motivated friends!
  • I'm an indie/alternative girl, but can allow myself to listen to more pop stuff when working out. My top songs right now are: Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson Sprawl (Mountains Upon Mountains) - Arcade Fire Houdini - Foster The People Shoot The Runner - Kasabian Flux - Bloc Party Eastern Europe - The Stills
  • ^^Well done, Eric!! I had my first day of week 8 today and it went pretty well. Since I'll be going out of town next week I'm considering to just forge ahead to week 9. Running for 30 minutes straight definitely seems do-able at this point :)

  • I think that as long as you consume reasonable amounts of diet soda, then it won't be dangerous. I drink 1 cup of Pepsi Max / Diet Pepsi a week on average, and don't spend much time worrying about chemicals in it. This nutritionist from the Mayo Clinic even says you can drink a can or two a day (!), and not worry about…
  • Just did W7D1 and it went so much better than W6D3. I managed to keep a steady pace all the way through and even did a sprint the last minute. And I wasn't exhausted after :-) I messed up my schedule a bit though because I was supposed to run yesterday and ended up taking a 3 hour nap instead. Woops! :-P After I complete…
