The only failure is if you never try or give up altogether. Fall down seven times, stand up eight as the old proverb goes. You CAN do this and MFP is the place to be. And yes, there's been alot of links made between lack of sleep and higher stress hormones (cortisol etc) which cause your body to store fat and causes your metabolism to slow down. I use both the whole seed (like the added texture) and the ground (better way to make it usable by the body). I wouldnt sprinkle it on a drink, but I do use it in my oatmeal every day, I also mix it into my sons pancake mix and hide it in other foods for both of us (shh...dont give away my secret!) Sorry I dont, but I did just figure out for me that the artificial sweetners (Splenda, aspartame etc) in the "sugar free" and "diet" foods/drinks I was consuming were what was making me crave carbs and sweets. Once I stopped taking in these things for a week, the cravings are gone.

I do not count most veggies. I only count the ones that are high on the glycemic index or are higher starchier veggies, like corn, potatoes, carrots etc. All other veggies are a free food for me. Fruit I always count because its higher in calories and sugar.
