  • 2 of my friends and I are starting a long distance study of this book. Good to hear someone's opinion on it and that its good. Thanks for posting.
  • Suz...if its baby leaf spinach, it makes a nice salad with fresh strawberries and poppy seed dressing. You could use any kind of spinach to make a very nice veggie omlet...chop up whatever veggies you have and toss them in with eggs.
  • I thought that too! Will definately attract attention...thats for sure!
  • Just keep blocking them and you can report them too.
  • There are more of us on MFP than you might imagine that have had that far, and farther to go. You can do this. Do it healthily and just keep trying. If you fall, its ok. Just get up and keep going. Remember that the weight didnt magically appear on you over night and it wont come off that fast either. You can do it!
  • I've been told that while losing weight its ok for me to have net calories at 1200, but that once I'm at goal, in order to maintain, I'm probably going to be around 1500. I would not go below 1200....thats the absolute minimum I've gotten from my Dr. and many other resources.
  • It took me a long time to get this to be just how I live, instead of a "diet". Once it became how I live, its just natural to stay on track with the occassional step-off and then get right back on it. Perhaps working a regular higher calorie day into your routine would help. What keeps me motivated is remembering why I…
  • Drink water with lots of lemon juice. It works better than just water to flush the sodium out. Also, eat things high in potassium, which also does the same thing. Yogurt, prunes, bananas etc.
  • Try finding Jillian Michaels' first book...Win By Losing I think its called. If I recall correctly there was a quiz in there to figure out what type of oxidizer you are and it tells you what foods you would be better of eating and which ones to avoid.
  • Can I just say that I loved this response? When I first started, it was all about the goal number. Now, having survived a 4 month very frustrating plateau, its come to be about much more than a number. Its about chosing how I want to live, regardless of what the number on the scale is....which is exactly what you said...a…
  • Just say that you dont have a specific number in mind, that you just want to be and feel healthy. You'll know what the number is when you get to the right feeling.
  • Are you going to spend the rest of your natural life never, ever having another slice of pizza? Of course not. Have a slice. Life is not meant to be lived restricting yourself from ever having something not on the "diet". Just stop after one, log it in and drink lots of water to flush the sodium out after. Remember....its…

  • Just mentally picture yourself (inside and out) in one year and then picture them in a year while they keep eating that cr@p. You'll be healthier, more active, clearer skin, better everything...they'll still be overweight and miserable if they dont stop. I've been at this for a while, and I find that just the smell of that…
  • I had a horrible case of double ear infections that lasted nearly 6 months about 7 years ago and since then, have bouts with vertigo. I find that walking/running is difficult and I have to look down otherwise I lose my balance. When I'm on the treadmill, I have to usually hold lightly on with one hand or at least keep one…
  • I think Courtneys weight loss is slower because she has lost so much weight. Once you get into the higher numbers, your body can sort of freak out and refuse to lose (I know because its happened to me at the weight loss level I'm at and she's 80 freaking lbs past me!) I've watched since season 5 or 6. Last season I started…
  • You can order your steak unseasoned (sodium is outrageous) and not cooked in butter/fat. I would skip the baked potato or at least cut it in half. Order side of steamed veggies. When I go out, this is my go to.
  • I'm not sure how it is personally because I havent had time to try it, but someone posted that its good with tuna.
  • Two things...does your carbonated water have additives or artificial sweetners in it? Fake sweetners frequently cause bloat. When I figured this out for me and cut out the Splenda and all other "sugar free" foods that have fake sweeteners in them, within one week I lost 6 lbs....and that was after having the scale stuck…
  • I have two suggestions. First you take a look at your goals and if you have it set too low, bump it up a bit. You cant go straight from 2400 calories a day to 1200 a day and not be starving. Its ok to slowly work your way down...I honestly think its better for you too. Second, I would look at what you're eating. Our bodies…
  • Welcome to it!

  • Try eating/drinking high potassium foods. It flushes the sodium and helps you eliminate water gain. Lemon in hot water Cranberry juice Bananas Yogurt these are just a few

  • I made mine locked with a key. I give the key only to those friends that I have on here that I'm sure understand where I'm at and I've known for a long while. I had previously tried public and the "feedback" I got was not helpful.
  • Negative sign in front of a nutrient you are tracking means you went over your goal.
  • Tip for all of us...the American Heart Association website...under the tab "getting healthy"...there's a Nutrition center, phyical activity, healthier kids, weight management, stress management, fat/oils and quit smoking tabs...this website is literally crammed with solid advice and ideas for living fit and healthy! • OK...I found it! Here's the link from the American Heart Association... http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4736 They said the target heart rate is 220 minus your age...so we were close there. That makes mine 180...geez...I"m surprised!!I It further says: Target heart rates let you measure your initial…
  • Ok...so I got 30...what is this?? (sorry...I know I'm clueless!) 220 - 40 = 180 / 6 = 30 right??
