I've found that applying heat to my ankle helps minimize the next-day pain that I get after a lot of high-impact activities. I have arthritis though so YMMV. Went from 200+ (I stopped weighing after I saw that number) to 150 3 years ago, have since gotten as high as 172 and now back around 164. Goal is 130. On the bright side all that gaining was from overindulgence on a regular basis. At least I know if I stay reasonable about what I'm eating it shouldn't creep back on.
