  • I use 8 lb. weights and I do three sets of 12-15 reps each. Each set has about 5 different exercises targeting various arm muscle groups. Then I do a few sets of lunges and squats. Finally, I do a one minute plank. It takes me about half an hour and then I usually run a couple miles afterward. I lift first.
  • Yeah, I'm looking mostly for a certain body fat %, which is a couple percent below what I'm at now. I think a dedicated weight routine and more protein will help, it's just figuring out that routine. I've lifted weights before for months (3x a week) but I didn't see results. Looking back that was probably because I didn't…
  • Chocolate sprinkles. They're like, 50 calories a tablespoon. I about fell off my chair. They were worse than the frozen yogurt I had ate!
  • I love Caribou's Obsidian (in the coffee aisle) and I would serve that up with some almond milk. And sometimes I buy fancy whole bean dark roasts and grind them myself. However, starting this week I switched from coffee to tea, so Republic of Tea's Vanilla Almond black tea with almond milk has been my new thing. :)
  • I'm vegan! Also, Vegan on the Cheap by Robin Robertson is a good cookbook. Lots of meal ideas with easy to find ingredients. :)
  • I love it so much!! If you make it homemade, it doesn't quite taste the same. I'm lazy so I usually just by it as an occasional splurge. :)
  • You could make a savory oatmeal. Just oatmeal, sauteed veggies, and a little meat or egg. They have rice versions of that called "congee" and they're ate for breakfast as well.
  • I've been vegetarian for 8 years and vegan for 3.5. You can add me! I also have a vegan cooking blog if you'd like to get it out: www.sharetheveganlove.blogspot.com
  • Some symptoms include: Spotty or erratic periods Double or missed periods Unusual pain during ovulation and during period (like, excessive cramping!) Acne Thinning hair Facial hair and/or thickened hair on arms or stomach Possible infertility or difficulty getting pregnant Sufferers are usually heavy or overweight To get a…
  • Yep. I was diagnosed with PCOS ten years ago. About six months after being diagonosed, my doctor told me it was important that I lose weight (I was overweight), otherwise I could have heart disease within the next ten years. I started watching what I ate, mostly just cut out diet pop, most junk food, and I quit eating so…
  • That's right! If your 1500 calories today all came from fast food, you might be small, but you can still have heart disease and high cholesterol. What you eat matters when it comes to your health. Being in a healthy weight range won't necessarily protect you from diet-related diseases!
  • I would say no. It's full of sugar and chemicals. The goal of slim fast is convenience. It manages your calories for you so you don't have to do any work. But as long as you're making healthy choices and sticking to your calorie limit (using MFP), you shouldn't need it.
  • Today's lunch was: (2) homemade red lentil patties with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, and a spicy yogurt sauce, rolled up in a low-carb/high fiber tortilla (La Tortilla Factory tortillas are the bomb!), with a few strawberries. That filled me right up. It was just like baked falafel. Somedays I'll have half a can of…
  • I have a food blog: www.sharetheveganlove.blogspot.com It's full of recipes and ideas, and since I'm extremely busy, a lot of the recipes are really easy to make. I also put the calorie/fat/protein counts on everything. I have recipes for bean burgers, falafel, salads, smoothies, etc. Just if you're interested. :)
  • I drink a little bit everyday, usually the plain kind with some ginger juice in it. It's sooo good. It's chock full of probiotics and B-Vitamins. I CRAVE it now!

  • You found one! I'll add you!. :) I've been vegetarian for almost eight years, and the last 3.5 I've been vegan, so I've got some veg cred, lol.
  • I have PCOS, and the main reason women with PCOS should watch their carb intake is because their chances of getting diabetes is much higher than the average person's. What you should do is not focus so much on your carb intake, but what carbs you're eating. Switch out white bread for whole grain wheat (make sure the…
  • "O.D.H.G.A.B.F.E." by Lamb of God "Suspended by the Throat" by Job for a Cowboy "Never... Again" by All Shall Perish "My Fears Have Become Phobias" by As Blood Runs Black "The Horror" by Moria I love to listen to metal when I workout because it makes me push hard and I get lost in the beat of the music. I use the intensity…
  • I don't eat a lot of soy unless it's tofu, or edamame (not-to-heavily processed). I can't do dairy either. For my protein I use Lifetime Life's Basics Plant Protein made with Hemp, Rice, Pea, and Chia. It sounds weird but it tastes really good and it's completely soy-free. I also add hemp seeds to my smoothies and salads…
  • Yeah, my boyfriend of two years has always kind of turned me down... I'm starting to wonder if I might be a beard... You wouldn't think it would take me this long to catch on! Lol.
  • I listen to a lot of metal. It keeps me really pumped and the beats are pretty fast so the workout usually winds up kicking my *kitten* when I'm through! Lol. Some good songs are: "O.D.H.G.A.B.F.E." by Lamb of God "Suspended by the Throat" by Job For a Cowboy (don't really care for the band, just this song). "Awaken the…
  • I speak science too! Lol. Though I can only read French, I've forgotten how to correctly speak most of it.
  • Since you're taking B12, I'm assuming your a vegetarian/vegan. I used to eat a lot of soy products (occasional fake meats, soy milk, protein bars, etc.) and I had massive migraines for a year and no matter what I did, I couldn't rid of them. One day, I did a little reading and found that soy may cause migraines in people.…
  • Thanks for sharing! I've wanted to try those Gardein beefless tips, but I wasn't really sure what to do with them!
  • Thanks for sharing! I am going to make this!

  • I have one too! It's: www.sharetheveganlove.blogspot.com It's a vegetarian one, but I love looking at other people's food blogs!
  • I usually eat old-fashioned rolled oats made with unsweetened almond milk and then topped with: 2-4 drops stevia extract, cinnamon, 1/2 Tb. natural peanut butter, and 1/2 a scoop of vanilla protein powder OR 2-4 drops stevia extract, 1/2 Tb. natural peanut butter, and 1/2 Tb. coconut butter OR sliced fresh strawberries,…
  • I usually use 1/2 - 1 Tablespoon. It makes it really creamy and awesome!
  • I love Tazo's organic green tea. I get my water hot (not boiling) and then let it steep for about 1-2 minutes. With tea, you get what you pay for. Cheap teas, and even "namebrands" such as Lipton's Green tea is just crap. Also, when you buy better quality tea, you get more health benefits.
  • I lost it in my face and shoulder area first (after the first 15 lbs you could start to see a hint of collar bone), then the frickin boobs went (C cup to an A!), then my butt, then my stomach and thighs. My arms are just now starting to trim up because I've been lifting weights. I have an hourglass though, so my shoulders…
