Hi! I'm long time MFPer, first time caller, er, poster (to this group anyway). Trying to get myself back on track, so I'm back in the boards and the food log... Due to some personal speedbumps, personal health issues, and family health issues, I basically completely stopped running, working out, and eating well this year.…

Burger King. Today was a cheat lunch and I was looking forward to a simple Bacon & cheese Whopper Jr (plain). I got a bacon whopper Jr all the way with no cheese. Had to pick off all the crap because I didn't check before I left (which I normally do, but I had to get back to work). Grrrrrrr...

While I am lucky enough to avoid the arthritis part (at least for now), I can completely sympathize with you on the migraine part! They just screw up your entire day/week!!! I learned early on that I HAD to make a schedule, or I'd never get back on the wagon if I fell off. I slid during Covid, and I'm still being dragged…

I most DEFINITELY get bloated. Not just bloated, but beached-whale-before-it-busts bloated. Painful bloating, really. My stomach skin becomes so tight from the bloating that just poking it is painful. I take Midol which helps some, but not always. I'm just a painful, bloated, crampy wreck for a few days. When I was on BC…

Heavy, humid heat makes me feel like I'm breathing through a wet washcloth, and it is terrible! I live in North FL, so this is our lifestyle from May to October, so you think I'd been used to it, but noooooo... The earlier you get up, the better, though. 80º with 95% humidity is still a lot better than 95º with 90%…

Yes, please add me! I"m 41, pushing 230lbs, and want to get to 150 :)

I second (third? eighty-seventh?) Fitnessblender. It's BASIC. No loud music, annoying trainers, flashy jump-cuts, or anything else. It's usually just one person telling you what to do. I do it with my earbuds in, so I get my own music. You can go as easy or as hard as you want, because you can sort by type, fitness level,…

I think it depends on your location and your fitness level. I live in FL and the thought of not taking ANYTHING with me freaks me out! I run with a 22oz Nathan and during MANY races, I'm out of water by the end. However, I'm 220+ pounds, not in the best shape, slow, and I'm a mouth-breather. I also am fond of bringing my…

Nope, but it sounds fun. HYE been arrested?

I've not run a marathon, but I was a half-marathoner in the same race, and wanted to commend you and surviving! It was cold and wet and horrendeous, but being a finisher, in THOSE conditions, is an amazing accomplishment! Way to go! Come back and do it again when the weather's better, though, you'll love the course even…

Usually I have half the year planned out by now, but I've been in a slump... Celebration 1/2 Marathon in January Gasparilla 15k/8k Challenge in February Gate River RUn 15k in March 5ks from April through October (North Florida is STUPID HOT) Unknown 10k or 1/2 Marathon in NOvember 10k or 5k in December

This thread makes me happy! I noticed a while back that all my heels no longer fit, and I had to stop wearing them. I also went from a 10, to an 11 (11w) in some! So, hopefully, as I get smaller, my FEET will get smaller again, and I can fit back in to my awesome heels (the ones I still have anyway... I donated most of…

Dear coworker - You are an amazingly horrible employee and person. You bring toxic energy to this building every single day. You are a liar. You can look me in the eye and tell me the sky is green, and get pissed off when I tell you it's blue. Your supervisor and entire team hate you and wish you didn't work here. You…

I think this is my problem, too. I've not been running/training for races properly so I've seen my pace/time go up dramatically in the past year. So, I decided I should add some strength training to my training, but now I'm kind of solely focused on developing a bootie and reducing the "bingo wings." I'm schitzo about what…

WORD! Happy, sad, funny, poignant, you're gonna need those tissues! I don't really binge except on the treadmill (because in real life, I don't have any time!); my current treadmill binge is rewatching Friends in order. I've made it to season 7 (or 8? After the wedding and baby daddy reveal).

I don't think I'm a textbook binger, but I follow these same rules for eating junk food. Like, if I'm home on the couch and I really want to attack the new bag of Doritos, I tell myself I can have some in 10 minutes (or the next chapter, or the next commercial, whatever). I stay distracted by watching the TV channel or…

You're going to want to find any bottoms that have the word "compression" in them. They are the Spanx of the fitness world. Cheap $10 yoga pants from Walmart isn't going to do it (no hate for Walmart, I rock a lot of other stuff from there!). I have good luck with Xersion from JCP. They come in leggings or capris length…

Not to hijack this thread, but is it called teh same thing when you go from standing to sitting, sitting to laying down? Anytime I do exercises that require me to go from standing to sitting to laying (think types of yoga, like warrior pose to butterfly stretch to savasana), I get very dizzy when I'm ON THE GROUND, rather…

I daydreamed with Dionne Warwick in Daytona.

I'm not much of a girly girl. I've only recently started wearing dresses and skirts or skorts to work. I'm very blessed, so I never go without a bra until bed time. I gotta wear the big bras. 36H, so much wire I could garrote someone. Only razors for legs and pits. I've never been waxed or waxed myself in my life (though,…

WARNING: Long Post! I love talking about this! Cold turkey is the hardest way to go, but whatever way gets you to quit is the BEST way to go. I am 40. I started smoking at about 12, filching cigarettes from my grandmother's case during summer vacations. In middle school, I'd pay older kids to buy cigarettes for me (they…

Will be running a 5k race in Jacksonville, then spending the morning/afternoon in either Jax or St. Augustine. I generally will stay home on Independence Day because I live in a college town and *kitten* get drunk way too early.

This isn't a "rub" per se, but it was the first recipe that popped into my head. It's called "Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken". You make a tasty rub (triple the recipe, you'll want to really coat the chicken, if you like spicy), cook the chicken in a mix of butter/olive oil (not crazy in calories, really!), and when chicken is…

I think a spouse should have a say if it's affecting their health. So skinny they can see your ribs? So fat you can't get on the floor to play with the kids? These are the types of weights that should be talked about. Do I want my spouse to give me *kitten* when I go up a size in my pants? No. I don't say anything to him.…

I went from 150 to 120 to 192. The 30-lb drop was due to massive morning sickness, and once that passed, I apparently ate for 4! After delivery, I was able to get back down to 170 (which, sadly, is basically my goal weight at this point...)

We had a going-away party for a coworker, and the boss brought in Publix carrot cake. I don't really like cc, but I like cream cheese frosting. However, I didn't get any cake or any frosting - just joined the table and drank my water!

I never post, but I have to brag on myself. If anything, I've had some horrendous Scale setbacks (like, I've gained back everything I lost, +3), but I'm still slowly moving forward. This weekend, I completed the Gasparilla Michelob Ultra Amber Challenge - I did a 15k, then a 5k, back to back (about 15 minutes in between…

Honestly, probably way too much. I have a 32oz insulated mug that is by my side day and night. I fill it up first thing in the a.m., to the tippy top with ice, then to the top with water (maybe 16 oz of water). It gets drunk and refilled by 9am. Refilled again at 11am, with more ice and water. Refilled again during lunch.…

Try FitnessBlender.com. They have LOTS of great workouts including ab-specific, weights and pilates. I'm a noob, so I'm rocking some Level 1 workouts, but you can do whatever you are comfortable with!
