Finding a place with a similar menu will help as a previous poster said. I know I've dined out 3 times since starting MFP and I usually try to eat lighter that day, and do a little extra calorie burning the next few days to stay on track. If you don't want to do that, there's nothing wrong with just letting it rip for one…

Wow, I read your page. You completely turned it around. You should be proud of yourself.

Good luck James. Just stick with it and keep grinding. It's actually not that hard to do once you start seeing the pounds come off.
-
Just reading it made my abs burn

Good luck Julie. Lot of support here

Good luck. There's a lot of good info on here if you dig or search through the forums.

That's it! I have abs, they're just not visible yet with the naked eye. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. But seriously, I have the same thing going on. I only have about 10 more lbs to my original goal and my belly isn't completely flat yet. I'm hoping for the best.

I had a hunch that they were a bit high. I don't have a heart monitor so, I've been comparing different sites on the internet for calories burned for a given activity and try to do my own determining from there.

Personally, I don't make it a point to eat all of my exercise calories. You're right, this site does encourage you to eat them and I'm sure the reason for this is sound but, I leave a cushion in case I undercounted my calories in or over counted my calories burned. I do dig into them when my body is telling me to however.

Immediate results? Get a digital scale if you don't have one. It helped me get started. You can see the pounds coming off more clearly. Just keep grinding and stick with it. If you love to eat (most people do) try eating slower, eat smaller portions, and drink a lot of water to make yourself feel fuller. Good luck

My original goal was 190. I was about 175 in high school. Things are going well, I may get there even though it wasn't my original goal

Hills are brutal. I ran them when I was much younger. It's great for your glutes and hammies. Im not ready for hills yet but, this is good info, you've outlined it well. Maybe in another month I'll be ready to tackle hills.

Yes, I started doing it out of necessity but now do it about 3 times a week, sometimes instead of walking/jogging and sometimes in addition to it.

I was about that wt when I started. I went on 1200 cals because I was in a hurry to lose but, it was probably too little. I'm 5'11" and the app recomended a lot more than 1200 but I was impatient. I've slowly increased my exercise over the last month and a half and find myself eating between 1300-1400 per day because my…

My goal was always just the opposite

an automobile tire:smokin: I didn't realize this. Cute list

Good luck Bel. There's a lot of good info on this site. Be patient, and keep grinding, it'll pay off. If you over eat one day, over eat in moderation :ohwell: don't just tell yourself that you blew it so you may as well over eat all day and start again tomorrow. Remember calories in vs calories burned are cumilative so,…

I haven't actually plateau'd yet but I have that same thing going on and the wt loss has slowed down some. I think some of it may be that as we get closer to what should be our natural weight, the pounds are gonna come off a little slower. But this is good to know because if I do ever totally hit a wall, I may try mixing…

I've been snacking on pinapple chunks this week. It only takes a few of them and they're about 60 cals for 1/2 cup
-
Good luck Katie. There's a lot of good info on these boards if you dig through them or do "searches". I was in a similar situation a few months ago as far as being my heaviest ever but had a little more wt to lose than you and was already buying new clothes. You're doing the right thing by taking action before you get too…

I lost 6 lbs my first week too. 1-3 lbs per week since then

Thanks, and I used the term good genetics but, perhaps dumb luck thus far would be a better description because my brothers are on B/P meds and so were my parents. Whatever the reason, I'm very conscious of it now and will continue to watch it closely and good luck to all of you
-
Good luck. It seems you're doing well. Your story is erely similar to mine even down to the numbers
-
Good luck. I weigh myself in between weigh ins just for the heck of it. Most people discourage this however. Whatever works for you though. Maybe once you lose the weight you can findsome tips on here about how to maintain this wt loss. That's what I'm gonna do when I finish losing my wt. I've come too far to throw it all…

LOL, I don't know if or how many cals are in such meds but this has crossed my mind before also. The only pill I take is a baby asprin every morning (because I have this little irrational fear of heart attacks and strokes), but they're the chewable kind and they're nice and sweet and taste kinda good so I'm thinking my…

It sounds like you're doing well. If you decide to do this, I would ease into it if I were you, and not necessarily be on a mission to eat all of your exercise calories. I'm doing 1200 cals intake also but, I don't stress too much about not going a little over as long as I don't go over 1400 because most people can still…

I like the pic, you two look good together. :-) I know what you mean about your weight not starting with a "2". I'm down to 201 and yesterday, I jumped on the scale after a workout just to see what 199 looked like because I knew I would be under 200 after sweating. It didn't last but, I'll be there in about a week and a…

I record my wt on Thursday mornings and Monday mornings. Most people seem to do it once per week however. Actually, I usually peek at my wt every morning but only record it twice a week. Most say not to do this. Not sure why, but I do it anyway. I guess Im just a rebel
