  • I had the exact same problem when I started. I did a workout at night, usually 8-9:30 and never fell asleep before midnight, and would wake up sometime between 3a-5a on my own and couldn't go back to sleep. Eventually my body my have gotten use to it, I started sleeping longer after a couple of weeks
  • I can only speak for myself but, no, I can't lie down to eat. I don't even like to lie down anytime just after I eat. I don't really have a problem with reflux normally but if I lay down after I eat, I seem to get it.
  • I've been playing guitar since I was about 7. I also play bass, keys (a little), harmonica, and accordion. I've played in bands off and on since I was a teenager. Took most of my child rearing years off from music for obvious reasons but I've since got back into it a bit. Nothing serious just weekend warrior type now. We…
  • I finally had time to read most of these the other night. Props to all of you. There's some good stuff in this thread. You know you're old when pulling an all nighter means you didn't get up to pee So, how did a fool and his money get together in the first place? Why do kamikazi pilots wear helmets? My wife got a mudpack…
  • I was holding out hope that I could find my old mp3 player. It has more songs on it anyway and I wouldn't have to deal with itunes because I can get songs for 9 cents each ( gomusic.ru) but, no luck yet. Thanks for the info, I may have to do what you said, or get another mp3 player.
  • You've heard of the morning after pill right?.................................yeah, or as I like to call it, breakfast in bed. My bank now offers 24 hr banking but, who's got that much time? I saw a wino eating grapes. I said dude, you gotta wait. I drive way too fast to worry about cholesterol I never forget a face but in…
  • I was wondering about this because I have the same problem with the ipod that's on my iPhone. About 25 minutes into my walk/jog is starts crapping out. I've tried keeping it in my pocket, holding it in my hand, and strapping it to my waist with my t shirt
  • and a twist top
  • When I still had a significant amount of wt to lose, I didn't make up my calories the next day because I didn't think being under a couple of days a week was gonna immediately and irreversibly slow my metabolism down so I just used those days to speed up my wt loss. I will say though, that now that I'm close to my goal wt.…
  • Yup, and anything with a roux
  • Cracklins which are basically pork skin and pork fat deep fried in it's own lard with a box of salt poured on top :-)
  • I know what you mean. When people ask me how I lost so much weight and I say counting calories and exercise, they look so disappointed that there's no magic trick or a meth addition or something to attribute it to.
  • I was planning on tracking my mileage walked/jogged for Sept. Right now I'm resetting my mileage every day but I think if I keep a total for the month it may push me to do more, and possibly even more in subsequent months.
  • No, be careful, they're very hard to open unless you have a REALLY good knife. I had to use a knife and a hammer LOL to get mine open the other day because I tried to cut throught that thing at the top and that part was even harder. You can easily cut your hand open trying to cut these things.
  • Thanks. No. 1 and no.3 is very consistant with everything I've read about the nutrition and cardio aspects, and you summed it up well. Thanks for the post.
  • I have a few old oranges in there that I never eat. BTW, the name orange is a little misleading. These are actually blue and fuzzy Other than that Lite Mayo Green leaf lettuce an adequate supply of onions and bell peppers garlic a lot of broccoli parsley green onions fat free italian dressing whole milk. yes whole milk…
  • LOL, it's time for everyone to joing hands and sing a bar of Kumbaya

  • I tried the spaghetti squash yesterday after seeing it posted in another thread. It doesn't taste like pasta but man it was really good. I ate it with a spaghetti sauce that I made with turkey ground but I bet it would taste good with a lot of other things too. Thanks for the tips on the slim pasta and the others. I'm…
  • I've eaten very little cheese in the last two months but, I've always had the theory that if something's already good, melt some cheese on it and it'll be even better.
  • I agree with iplayoutside. Quantifying situps and pushups has it's purpose I'm sure but I don't think it's a very comprehensive way to measure overall fitness. The important thing is you seem to be heading in the right direction. Everything else will take care of itself if you keep grinding away at it. Congrats on your…
  • Virually any kind of seafood pasta with a cream sauce Fried rice with a side of chicken wings Popeye's two piece spicy dark with red beans and biscuit Ribeye and loaded mash from Chili's
  • Yeah? That would narrow it down to married women or other guys. LOL. Maybe I'll stick with the crazy ones for now.
  • "TOPIC: INSANE chicks!!! " Disregard this post. I thought this was a thread about my current dating pool. Sorry, carry on.
  • I do the EXACT same thing. I weigh in the morning, before I eat and always round up to the next pound to avoid a psychological letdown of gaining a pound the next week, just in case. In addition, if I did a lot of sweating the previous day and think I didn't replenish all of my fluids yet, I'll round up as much as 2 lbs.…
  • I'm so glad you mentioned this. I've been hungry for spaghetti sauce but didn't want to load up on pasta in addition to whatever I was gonna add in the sauce.
  • I agree about mushrooms. I always add them to my stir fry and they allow me to back off of the beef a little.
  • I'm in the same place. I'm within 8 lbs of my original goal of 190. Once I get there, I'll decide if I want to lose more or not (translation: if my stomach is not completely flat by then, I'll want to lose 5 or so more). As I near my goal, I'm slowly shifting my workouts to a bit less cardio (duration-wise) and longer and…
  • Most days I set my radio to whatever genre I'm in the mood for. Otherwise, I use what's on my I pod on my phone. Not all of it is actually "exercise music" but I just let it spin Get Up Stand Up - Bob Marley Come out and Play - Offspring Everything is Everything - Lauren Hill Them Bones - Alice in Chains Run Through the…
