I was diagnosed about 14 years ago, but didn't really see a weight gain until after I had my kids. My levels have always been monitored and under control, I was just eating too much and not moving enough. 2 years ago, I found MFP, and haven't looked back. I do find that I lose more when I eat more protein than carbs,…

I started C25k before I found MFP. Didn't change my eating habits at all, in fact, I probably ate more. So I didn't lose any weight, but lost a few inches! Running, even at my slow pace, has been great for toning!

You look fantastic!

You've taken the first steps! We never treat ourselves the way we should. Think like you are your own best friend for a moment. What would you say to her if she came to you with the same story? Would you call her names and hurt her feelings? Or would you give her a hug and tell her you've got her back and go for a walk…

you look AMAZING!!!! :)

I never ran when I was younger, and started c25k when I was 40...just go slow and give yourself time to recover when you're sore. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can get back to it!

I'm celebrating the 14th anniversary of my 29th birthday at the end of the month!

Can't wait to try these!

You are rockin' it!

Like any tool, you have to use it to make it work....but I love it! I've tried to lose weight on my own, but the food and exercise diaries keep me from forgetting what I've done during the day, and it's so helpful to be able to pre-plan for busy days. I'm smaller than I've been in the last 15 years, and only 13 pounds from…

My bananas will be ready in a couple of days...can't hardly wait!

What a great attitude! Awesome accomplishment!

When I was in college full-time, I also worked 30-35 hours a week. Spent a lot of time driving to and from school and work. I drank Slimfast shakes and ate the bars (this was 20 years ago, so they didn't taste so great) and lost weight. They were quick and easy and filling. But when I had some more time to sit and cook for…

Kohl's has an awesome set of adjustable kettlebells, and it comes with a DVD :)

You look fabulous!

I freeze the "noodles" in single servings for lunches... a quick one is the squash with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese and some bacon bits, heat in microwave, add chopped tomato...yum!
-
I like them, too! But I could definitely taste the banana (yum). Another recipe I like is 2 eggs, 2oz cream cheese, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon....tastes a little like fluffy french toast!

Almost 43, and 16 pounds to go to hit my ultimate goal weight, would like to get there before my 25th high school reunion in October!

My sons are very active 9 and 4 year olds. I try very hard to make sure they eat well-balanced meals. When they've had a bowl of cereal and are still hungry, I talk to them about what food group cereal comes from and what other groups there are to choose from and we decide together what else they are going to eat. I also…

When I first did c25k, I was sore every day! It took me two weeks to complete week 1, and I had to repeat some of the days as I progressed. I didn't move on until I was able to complete the week's run comfortably. It took me a little longer to finish the program than I wanted, and I ran so slowly, but I did complete it!…

Congratulations! Amazing job!

Cottage cheese is a great base for lunch. You can add: chicken, bacon, and dry ranch seasoning salsa, chicken and cheddar cheese pepperoni and marinara sauce tomato, avocado and pepper apple and sliced turkey tuna

When I cook for my family, I always cook a little extra and freeze the leftovers in single-serve containers. I'm a substitute teacher, so I don't always know ahead of time that I'll need a lunch. It's very easy to throw a frozen meal in my lunch box and go. The the above poster is right, be sure to label everything, unless…

Congratulations! That's FABULOUS!

Awww....that stinks. Last Christmas, I had lost 30 pounds, and everyone made a big deal about how great I looked. This year, I've lost another 20 pounds and no one said anything. I was so bummed. The last 20 have been harder to lose, and have made less of an impact on how I look in general than the first 30 did.…

January is the beginning of my third year on MFP. My goal is to lose the last of the weight- a total of 65 pounds, I have 13-15lbs to go! It's been slow and steady...but I'll get there!

I googled "work out with kids" and found http://momrecommends.about.com/od/healthandsafety/a/How-To-Exercise-When-The-Kids-Are-Around.htm I'm sure there are a lot more articles out there! One day, when I couldn't get to my home workout space and had to occupy my then 3 year old, I put on my HRM and chased him around the…

Sometimes your local library will have workout DVDs to borrow as well!

My boys are 9 and 4, and the only advice I have is, "give yourself a break"! When I was nursing, I was exhausted and irritable and easily upset and frustrated. It may take longer to lose weight and tone your muscles, but you'll get there! I think breastfeeding burns about 300 calories a day, so just make sure you're eating…

Feel free to add me...I've got two boys ages 4 and 9, and I'm a substitute teacher and working on getting re-certified so I can goback to the classroom full time!
