I'm 5'2" and have lost 65 pounds, although it took almost 6 years to do it. No magic, just logging meals (pre-logging whenever possible) and exercising. My goal is 10k steps a day, and I try not to eat my exercise calories back. Being short means lower calorie goals for sure, and the smaller I got, the harder it has been…

I had a Fitbit One, loved it, then upgraded to the Alta...love it even more!

I'm 44, have lost 50+ pounds since January 2012, although this year has been more about maintenance than I'd like, I still want to lose 15 more. I've played around with a variety of plans since starting, but what has really worked for me is keeping calories low (around 1200, I'm short) and working out 4-5 times a week. I…

I love my home gym! I have a Treadclimber, a stationary bike, heavy bag, TV/DVD player, step, stability ball, light weights, an adjustable kettlebell and a resistance band. I am on my 17th consecutive day of working out, and I haven't done the same thing twice. It is so convenient to run downstairs to work out after the…

I love my Fitbit One!

Almost 3 years ago, I told myself that I would give the MFP app I found on my Kindle I got for Christmas, and if it didn't work, I would join WW. Now I'm sixty pounds less, and I love MFP!

I wish you all the best! You can do this....and although it isn't easy, it's definitely worth it!

You look fabulous!

Yep. We have one at home, and I've fallen off at least twice. I'm not very coordinated, and since I've been using it consistently for the past three years (although we've had it for longer), I think that's pretty good! :)

You look amazing!!!!!!!

Agree....Moro-Suarez :) and congrats!

Went on vacation with my in-laws in August of 2011, thought I looked great, had been walking/jogging consistently, but not really watching my food. Saw the pictures and almost cried. But it took Christmas morning photos to really get me going....in January 2012, I said it, "oh, HELL NO, if MFP doesn't work, I'll join WW"

Thanks so much for this post! I've been here about 2 1/2 years, and am really struggling to lose the last 10 pounds...feel like I should be there by now, but it's been slow....I'll get there!

Congratulations! You look fabulous!

That was me yesterday, a summer party at lunchtime, then frozen yogurt with the boys (my husband was out for dinner) ... I was so many calories over. Had planned on a light workout, but hit the Treadclimber hard instead! Now that summer is here, I like to work out after the boys go to bed, then shower all the sunblock,…

1) age: early 40s 2) 150 pounds 3) physical location: MD 4) activity level: lightly active 5) How often do you exercise? I had a backpack type carrier when my son was two (I think it was rated to 40 pounds) and popped him in there for hiking. Talk about lifting heavy, he weighed 38 pounds at the time! Both my boys also love Just Dance for Wii. My 9 year old has to hold himself back when we run together, as he is much faster than I. He…

I did the SlimFast program during my freshman year in college, and again when I was 24, and lost weight both times. At the time, I felt like I was super busy, and the plan was easy to follow and fairly economical as I was single and didn't have to worry about anyone else. Eating frozen portioned out meals helped as well,…

I love my One!

Breakfast! turkey sausage patty, laughing cow, and a poached egg!

Whenever I cook a meal for my family, I prepare one extra serving and freeze it to pack in my lunches. I let it thaw in my lunchbox so it takes less time to microwave. That way, I've already input the recipe into MFP, so logging takes less time as well. Helpful hint:be sure to label everything unless you like surprises!…

Great work! You look amazing!

Try googling "chair aerobics", when I hurt my knee last year, I got some great ideas to burn calories there. Boxing is great for cardio, too. Good luck!

Losing weight has been a very slow process for me. I started 2.5 years ago at 205, and have lost 55 pounds, some weeks I've lost a couple of pounds, and some weeks nothing. I tried to hit maintenance over the holidays and ended up gaining 8 pounds. As long as I'm measuring/weighing my food and accurately logging exercise…

I eat at a calorie deficit to look good in smaller clothes. I work out to look good naked.

I was told last week, "if you lose any more, you'll look gross" :(

I changed my lifestyle over two years ago. My husband and I still go out to dinner, we still meet friends for drinks (when we can get a sitter) and I have a fairly active social life. When I'm not working, I meet friends for lunch, coffee, or we get together as families for dinner. In fact, most of our social events…

I try to make enough dinner to feed my family, with one serving left over, that way I can freeze one for work days. I get a lot of variety that way, and I don't have to think about it if I don't have time for a salad.
