I was a total non - runner almost 3 years ago when I did c25k. The program does baby step you into running. The first week I think I ran for a 1 min then walk for 2. You can do it! It is great me time!

I also like under armour. I don't ever pay full price though. I check their online specials or go to a store... sometimes you can pick things up really cheap. I also hit the clearance rack at Kohls.... I heard Target has some good work out gear on the cheap too.

Agree with everyone else as well.... I find that I need gloves for my hands. I have a pair of running gloves. I also really like under armour cold gear.

I wear danskin now high impact bras from Walmart. They seem to work really well for me and I am a B/C cup. Great job on the running!! C25K got me started on running too. It is a great program!

Like the others I was a non runner and used the c25k app to get me running. That was 2 years ago... many 5ks, a couple of 15ks, 2 half marathons and a 20k later.. :-) Some just do walking/jogging intervals of some sort and gradually wean out the walking. It takes time. Good luck!

Feel free to add me!

I am someone who will always have to count calories. Many years ago, I lost weight doing weight watchers, stopped counting points and gained a lot of it back. I am within a few pounds of my goal weight and don't plan to stop logging once I get there. I will always have to log what I eat. Everyone is different, so you might…

First of all - great job on the running and finding an exercise that you enjoy!! For the most part -I echo just about what everyone else says- weight loss is very personal - what works for one person may not work for someone else. To lose weight calories in has to be less than calories out. While running helps me create…

Great job on pushing yourself! Do what works for you! I am not sure if I ever did finish the c25k program - by the time I reached week 7 or 8 I was running a 5k, so I just kept it up. I eventually got myself up to a half marathon by doing what you are doing. I needed the structure at first, but then figured it out for me…

It's my second one. It is definitely lots of fun. I couldn't believe how fast it filled up this year. Keep an eye on it for next year.

Upcoming Race: Boilermaker Location: Utica, NY Date: July 14th Duration: 15 K Trail or Road: road Goal Time: Under 1:30 - however with 14,000 people running a new PR might be tough. First Race?: Nope! 2nd boilermaker, have finished 2 half marathons and many 5ks. Post Race Reward: ?? Probably a half moon cookie!

This sounds just like me! The running for 5 minutes was a breakthrough for me - I never thought I could and then decided to keep pushing myself. I finished c25k a little over 2 years ago and since have worked my way up to a half marathon. For right now the half marathon distance is my limit. My favorite distance is a 15k.…

I haven't run the Baltimore half marathon. However in general - for me I like to sleep within a half hour of a race. Some races do offer the tracking your bib number - the Frederick Half did. I believe the same company does the Baltimore(maybe) A couple of weeks before the half, directions were sent out on how to set it up…

Wow, such great stories! I started running 2.5 years ago with C25K. Since then, I have done a bunch of 5ks, a 15k and 2 half marathons. So far no desire to run a full marathon, however, I kind of want to beat Oprah's time too.

Depending on what I eat, I wait 30 minutes to an hour.

Frederick Running Festival Half Marathon - This Sunday.

I have been copying Panera's fruit and chicken salad... grilled chicken(I used leftovers from another dinner) strawberries blueberries mandarin oranges fat free poppyseed dressing nuts/craisin mix

I run alone. I need the me time. I also don't want to have to worry about keeping up with another person's pace. I wave and say hi to many of my neighbors as we run around the neighborhood.

I have either an arm band for my phone or I carry it and then tie my car key in my shoelaces on my shoes.

I have lost weight by running and watching what I eat. Anytime you have a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. Any form of exercise will help with creating a deficit.

After I completed c25k and wanted to extend my running, I just picked one run a week to extend my time on. I added 5 minutes at a time. Once I got up to 45 minutes, I made the jump to 60 minutes. Looking back now - probably wasn't the smartest thing. At the time I was working my way up to a 15k and had 9 months to do it in.

I had almost finished c25k on my treadmill 2 years ago and then decided to run outside. Like you I had a hard time and I ended up restarting c25k at week 4 or 5 outside. Take it easy - it can be done. I hate running on the treadmill now. I can't run for more than 30 minutes or so on the treadmill but can run for 2 hours…

I am also 5' 2" and was where you were just a little over a year ago. I am a few years older  It took a long time for me to lose 12 pounds - almost a full year if not a little more. I tried the whole 1200 calories thing but it was not for me. I was always hungry and moody and the weight did not seem to be coming…

I will send you a friend request... I am training for my 2nd half in May. Anyone can feel free to friend me!

I usually just wipe it on my shirt. My nose runs all the time when I run - especially in the spring.
-
You can do it! Once you have finished a 5k, a 10k is not much more :-) I started off adding 5 minutes to my runs and then adding 10 minutes to my runs to get me up to an hour. Just try adding some time to one of your runs a week - it doesn't need to be all of them. Good luck!
-
Anyone can feel free to add me! Currently training for my 2nd half marathon.

I log regularly too. Anyone can add me!
