My day usually starts at 6:00, leave for work shortly after 7:00, and am usually home around 6:00 (later if I have an evening work function). Can't get much done in the evenings as this is homework time with the kids, taking care of the horses, and other family time. By your definition I think every day is a "bad day" :-)…

Runners World has an online shoe guide which might give you some ideas: http://www.runnersworld.com/shoeadvisor I run in Vibram Five Fingers and love them, but not everyone likes the minimalist shoes.

I noticed the same thing. Last week was a bit depressing for me (I started running on the treadmill each morning and gain 2 lbs -- I am hoping it is temporary). I can see why set backs make people want to give up, but I'm here for the long run so I just kept logging and I am hoping next week will be better. Sent you a…

Up 1.6 lbs to 178. This bums me out as I ate pretty well all week (except for one day, but even that wasn't enough to explain a gain) and Starting Tuesday I got up every morning at 5:30 to run on the treadmill. I am hoping the gain is just due to the new exercise routine which, I have read, can cause this :-(

My asthma was pretty good when I started running so I was able to just slowly increase my distances without issues. If you are only an albuterol inhaler and find yourself needing the inhaler regularly when exercising I would recommend speaking with your doctor (or, better, a specialist) about longer-term, preventative…

I've had several pairs and just love them. I think they are great for mud runs. I did Tough Mudder at Mt. Snow in mine. The don't get heavy even after slogging through mud, swimming through water, etc. You will want to build up your distance slowly -- calves can be very sore when you first start.

I just looked at your profile. Where on earth do you work where they find 5'7" and 170 lbs. to be "fat / big / chunky"? Seriously, I am 5'7" with my highest being 190 and my weight has never been even noteworthy to co-workers. I understand different body types look different at the same weight, but at 170 lbs. I calculate…

Hi, I'm Anna. I am 43, have 2 daughters, and a busy, full-time desk job. I signed up with mfp quite some time back, but stopped (I can't recall why) and am just now starting back up. I am hoping being a part of this group will keep me motivated! I am 5'7" and weigh 190. My initial goal is to get down to 160. I may continue…

I'm from New Hampshire (USA). I just started back up with myfitnesspal and was thrilled to find a horse group here! I have a 8 year old TB that came off the track last fall. Hoping to get back into eventing (I had an arab who I owned for 28 years, until his death last year, and who I evented back when we were both much…
