Fittumee - it did show up on my profile - thank you! I have responded there as well. Thanks everyone for all your comments and insights. The past 8 months have been absolutely amazing and I still have so much to learn and think about and do. I really appreciate everyone's generosity with their comments and time. May we all…

The truth is I have never felt so healthy and alive!!! To actually enjoy living in my own body is an amazing thing, that I didn't even know was possible! And it is the support and understanding here that is so powerful. Thanks everyone :)

Birds of a feather - I guess could have been a roundabout compliment, it was just so strange how she worded it, like "Oh no!" It doesn't hurt to give the benefit of the doubt I guess. She is a generally nice person, just maybe kind of blunt.

Thanks for the support everyone! I may just turn those automatic FB updates off....

It is so strange, and so maddening! About 20 pounds ago I had someone tell me to sit down and rest because I looked unwell and they were sure it was becasue I had "lost too much weight" Actually, it was my first day back at work after getting over a bad cold and cough! Seeing people change does make others uncomfortable, I…

I agree completely! And thanks for this timely reminder to keep things in perspective. :)

I'm a bit more old school and lately I've been running to the William Tell Overature by Rossini, and also to some awesome operatic rock by the TransSiberian Orchestra. But you can never go wrong with some AC/DC.

Yup, the strap goes underneath the boobage, and is quite comfy there. It's extra support really! I just tuck it under my sportsbra band too. Sometimes I even forget to take it off, it is so comfortable!

Yup, I do exactly what accountant_boi does. I want to be MFP friends with people who are serious about this stuff. I don't have a ton of MFP friends because I want to be sure that I can be supportive of every one of them (leaving comments on their statuses, generally keeping up with their progress, etc.) That's what I…

Awesome! Our racing team uses a similar saying when the going gets tough: "Hard work makes room for luck." :)

Oh ya, it's all about persistence in the same general direction over time. There is just no such thing as perfection! All the best to you :)

Really enjoyed tonight's episode - had a lot in it about letting old habits go and celebrating the new ones!
-
Yes, I've found I can really relate to the issues they are facing, like how people are uncomfortable when you change, and how some habits can be so irrational yet so powerful. It's been a good learning opportunity for me :)

They are sure bringing in a lot of neat resources: the chef, nutritionist, psychologist, personal traininers, special gym equipment, endurance courses, restaurant renovations, it's just amazing! I also like how they are showing the new friendships developing - it's really insprining to see Jamie in particular, smiling and…

Absolutely stunning! You have been such an inspiration to me along this path, Lori. You worked so hard and it SHOWS, in the most amazing way!!

Hi there, I'm from a small town just north of Edmonton, feel free to 'friend' me. :) This is a very welcoming and supportive site - glad you're here!
-
I log it. I like to see the patterns, and the number on the scale is only one of many ways to measure progress anyway. All the best to you!
-
What a great idea! And nice work on your accomplishment by the way!

You could throw some raisins in with your almonds, or any other dried fruit is also good. I like dried apricots :)

Oh you look absolutely great! And you must feel so awesome! Inpsirational - thank you!

Not sure if you ever eat regular boxed cereals, but mini-wheats are amazingly high in iron - one bowl will get you almost 90% of your daily requirement. Not something you'd want to eat on a regular basis maybe, but noshing on a few squares without milk can really boost your iron intake in a fairly tasty fashion.

Not obsessive, persistent! That's what it takes. That's what anything worthwhile takes!

I agree with you that MFP is part of the 'red pill' - forcing us to wake up and see reality and stare those numbers in the face. I don't think I'd equate aggressive behavior with health however - someone (male or female) can be strong and healthy without being aggressive. A balance between physical and emotional aspects of…

Call me crazy, but lately I've been loving running to the William Tell Overature! (i.e., the Lone Ranger theme...) :)

Another central AB gal here! Welcome and enjoy! There is lots of support here, which has really made a huge difference for me.
-
You look awesome!! You've worked so hard Lori, and it really shows!

I am also a very new runner. So far I have said things like "Just keep running" (similar to the "Just keep swimming" line from Finding Nemo) and also I think of those Chilean miners stuck in the ground for all those weeks and months. If they can survive that, I can surely finish this run!

I also vote for the iPhone 4!

Another Albertan here! :)

Yoplait Zero yogurt, "Exotik" varieties have only 44 cals per 1/2 cup. If you put it in the freezer for an hour or so, stirring it once or twice, it's almost like eating ice cream! Sorbet, anyway!
