I'm not really a spinner (I ca't seem to get a consistency going), but I recently spun a little when I couldn't find the right light green for a calla lily knitting project (to be felted later) but I could find wool in that green. As for projects I'm working on now, I am trying to finish a hat in the next day, a lace shawl…

My main project now is a "mystery" afghan I started a couple years ago at my old knit shop. We would have a once a month "class" where we worked on a different yarn in this one pattern. I made it even more different by also doing a different pattern each section, though usually the fancy yarns end up being just straight…

At 5' 9.25", my ideal weight would be in the 162-167 lb range. When I was in my 20s, I was able to get to 155 lbs, but now that I am in my 40s, I know that will be hard to reach again. So I just want to get into the non-overweight area (heck, at this point I'd like to get out of the obese section). I have big bones (my…

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 8 or 9 years ago. I was thankfully caught in the early stages by a very astute doctor, so my pain levels are not as high as most people who usually go through years of pain before diagnosis. I also dreaded exercise for some time, but I do find that it does help. I take Celebrex for…

He was tooling around on his bike when he stopped at the popcorn stand I was running. He was nice to me, especially since I was wearing a t-shirt from his college (which I also went to, but many years…

Hi!! I'm Leslie and I've been knitting off and on since 1999. I once knew how to crochet (back in high school), but haven't been able to re-learn it since. I'm 43, married, but no kids (just dogs who hate to wear clothes). I am an accountant by trade, but my hobbies, besides knitting, include scrapbooking (both paper and…

I used to wear size 10 1/2 wide, but now that I have to wear orthotics constantly I am at a size 11 deep womens or size 10 mens (for sneakers/gym shoes).

I'm 5' 9.25" and have heels, but can no longer wear them (foot issues). Hubby is 5'8", but doesn't mind my height. I used to love wearing heels and towering a bit over my dad (who was 5'10"), but our old house was built for short people so I had to duck a lot, LOL.
