Im thinking it is a fad, but you can also play some cool games on the foot pad thingy so I don't think it is too much a waste, if you already have a WII. I do, but have not gotten the Fit yet, and may never. However, if you have one and it is working for you, then I suggest using it. There is nothing wrong with workout…

As new threads are posted or responded to older ones drop down the page, eventually off the front page altogether. Bump is just a post to push the thread to the top to keep it alive. You can say anything but most people write Bump so everyone knows what they are doing..

Welcome melisay! I am getting hitched in June and trying to slim down by then as well. 15 pounds in 6 months should be no trouble at all...

Nobody. But still it is something to consider. Mercury is a heavy metal, and it is my understanding that we have no way of getting rid of it once it is ingested. So while no one eats 100 pounds of ketchup in a day, you might over your lifetime. And add all that up with the mercury in other foods and by the time you are in…

Sorry to drag out an old thread, but it looks like nobody saw this one the first time around. I have done a couple of centuries and MS150's now. I never really followed a training program out of a magazine or web site, but I sort of made up my own. My normal deal is 40+ minutes a day commuting by bike to work, and then I…

Hmm, if your HR is jumping up to 200 BPM it seems to me that your HRM may not be functioning properly or you have it in the wrong spot, the band is too tight, too loose or not getting a good reading. Pretty much the only people who get over 200 are serious athletes or kids who are working out. What you are looking for with…

It is probably just a bruise, however when a pro athlete gets a bruise they typically lay off exercising that muscle for a few days. I would suggest light stretching of the affected area and keep your workouts to different muscle groups. It is fairly easy to further injure an already damaged muscle.

Cardio burns a lot of calories. If someone can do a cardio workout for a long period of time then I doubt very much they have an eating disorder. Perhaps some weird obsession with whatever workout they are doing, but considering all the other addictions out there I think working out is a healthy one.

I usually air pop kernals and then spray them with a 0 calorie spray like I Cant Believe Its Not Butter or Smart Start butter spray. And the obligatory shakes of salt, but I am constantly working out and can use a little more salt in my diet, if you are not sweating alot every day then limit the extra salt you use in your…

Call me Mr. Plain Jane but I prefer my veggies steamed just a little no butter and if anything at all a little salt, but usually just plain. That is for cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, corn, etc. Corn on the cob needs to be drowned in butter and pepper though. Carrots raw. potatoes smashed with tobasco. But…

In my experience a little indiscretion every now and then is just fine. I would be surprised if you gain anything. Remember that since you do exercise regularly now your metabolism is higher than it was when you started out. Also, you should have a "net loss" for the week anyway so 1 day is not going to make a huge…

I nuke it when needed. l love to mix a spoonfull in with some hot chocolate on a super cold day. MMMMM, tastes like a melted peanut butter cup. I suppose this is not a good thing to say on a site dedicated to weight loss. :frown: Then again this may be why I am here:laugh:

You don't have to give up coffee. When I am in training for some event or another, I make sure it is all decaf. Personally I do not notice a difference in flavor, and I grind my own beans and drink it black with nothing in it at all. I mean, if you like coffee why put all that junk in it? Anyway, my resting heart rate…

Hi Toni! What would it take to motivate you? That is the first question I guess, that you need to answer. The other is why do you want to lose weight, and what is the benefit to being at the weight you are hoping to get down to? Probably you will find motivation in those answers. If not, then you are deluding yourself and…

No worries, everybody slips. Biggest thing in my mind is to not beat yourself up. You are not in prison and should be allowed a little indulgence once in a while. I have always kept a policy that if I really want it, not matter what it is (whole family size bag of Dorritos, yumm) that I will allow myself to eat it. Now,…

Hey! Not sure if i fit the qualifications you imagined though, being a full time worker going to school online at night, but what the heck, it is still college:laugh: I know the local college here has more than one cafeteria, and one of them is all vegetarian/vegan meals, maybe you just have to look around a little for…

hello Melissa! It may seem like a big deal right now, but I can say from experience that once you get into the habit of eating right and exercising, it just becomes part of your routine. It takes no effort and is just what you do, or how you eat. Before you know it you have lost some incredible amount of wieght and you…

Thanks for the encouraging words all! I can't believe how busy this site is, incredible. I am certainly hoping the public arena like this will help keep things moving in the right direction, can't slack off if people are watching!

Hello all, My name is Drew, and I am just starting to get back on track after a bit of a slump. I figure this looks like a good site to become a member of, and I guess I could use some extra incentive to stay on track. A little backround... I was a 30 year old 3 pack a day smoker who weighed about 275 pounds. I quit…
