  • You think High Fructose Corn Syrup is poison, and you eat 700 miligrams of cholesterol at one sitting?!?! Wow,,,, :drinker:
  • Edit,,, delete, no need to be snarky.

  • It has been my experience that you can take almost anything edible, and put it in a crockpot with a can of cream of mushroom soup and come back several hours later and pour the grease off the top and eat it. mmmm,,, possum. It's what's for dinner!

  • 1/2 cup grape nuts 1/2 cup 2% handful of cherries (Don't spit the pitts back into the bowl,,,).
  • I'd recomment that for starters you just log what you're eating and don't worry too much about changing. This will help you to understand what's good and what's bad. Pretty soon you won't want the bad stuff,,, Then you can work toward not going over, finding ways to eat more on less calories (Note - raw veggies & fruits),…
  • I wasn't really waiting 'cause I didn't know it would happen, but one thing way cool has happened. I got checked out in the mall last weekend? By a woman! An attractive woman?!?! Wow,,,,, I didn't see that coming. My wife saw it and she was howling with laughter. She's like "Ya, that happens a lot now, you're just too…
  • Well you still gotta practice portion control. If you eat twice as much 1/2 calorie food you're back where you started. I use a scale - often eat 1-1/2 servings with 1/2 a cup of 2%. 1-1/2 servings of Special K is still very light.

  • The most powerful tool for me was the food diary and learning to use it BEFORE the damage is done. Know you're going to Ruby Tuesdays' for lunch? Enter your order here in the morning. When you see how badbadbad that big bacon burger is, it'll make you poke around the menu for something healthier. Then when you get to the…
  • It happens,,, Did anybody try my chicken rolled in Special K crumbs?

  • Everybody's different, and I've changed my routine several times to beat plateaus. When I started I was just dieting. I was a really big heavy guy (270 pounds) and my calorie intake was about 2000 a day, and that was fine, I wasn't uncomfortable. When I got to 260 MFP adjusted my intake down to 1920 or something, and that…
  • The first step to controlling your eating is really knowing just what you're eating. Logging calories on here has been a life changing event for me. Before, I would look at a BigMac and think "Yum",,, Now I look at a BigMac and think "Wow - 540 calories, 45 grams of fat,,, That's about an hour on a treadmill, yuck". Now I…
  • I'm going for a Wolverine look myself. The bod is coming together,,, the hair not so much.
  • You ever splurge out a meal? Just feast... I do it once a week. If your metabolism decides that you've moved to Ethiopia and it needs to conserve every little bit of juice it can get, it can make it very hard to progress. Maybe your system needs a little shock. I'm not suggesting you eat a whole birthday cake, but maybe do…
  • Equating High Fructose Corn Syrup with Cyanide,,, hehehe... Ok Ladies, let's all join hands and take a deep healing breath. <<Somone's crying, my lord,,,, Kum,,,,,,, >>

  • 15 pounds in 15 weeks? Piece o' cake man. You came to the right place. Welcome aboard. You'll like it here. Here's something fun to do - as best you remember,,, log in what you ate last week. Log in that double whopper w/double cheese and the XL fries and the Chocolate shake! It's wild,,, you won't believe how awful for…
  • It's the exchange rate. Canadian grams are larger. You're actually getting the same quantity of crap.

  • I hit the farmers' markets too. I know several of the farmers, and my fosterkid is picking 'taters right now. I play this thing by the 95% rule. I try to make 95% or more of what I eat good healthy whole-food stuff. Fresh fruits'n'veggies, raw grains, lean meats (organic/local/anti-B free if available). On the other hand I…

  • I eat 2100 a day. 1900 of them are good, 200 are crap. I've been dropping 1-1/2 to 2 pounds a week for a long time, and I feel like a million bux. My blood pressure is 110/65, my pulse is 60, my labs are very-very good. Most of us don't live in trees. We shop at Kroger 'cause that's where the food is. I take reasonable…

  • Honey, that "20 pounds lost" is encouraging to all of us. It's one more little sign saying "She did it - she's doing it - I can do it to"... Good job and thank you. Why do people hate Sarge? 'cause he's horribly, viciously, brutally honest. He says exactly what he thinks. I don't always agree with him, but I always admire…
  • I like to crush the Special K into crumbs, add some garlic & herbs, roll chicken breast strips in it and fry in a little EVOO. Lite-lite-lite & good. Almost like real fried chicken. Save calories on the Chicken and I have room left for the beer. Guinness, extra dark. You gotta live a little. :drinker:

  • I usually have a Skinny Cow fudgsicle. 90 cals, 2 fat grams, delish & worth it. Lowfat cottage cheese + berries/cherries/canned peaches (lite syrup).
  • 30 minutes every morning,,, I eat most the "exercise calories" I earn on it,,, otherwise I'd be miserable. Does it work? I guess so,,, 55 pounds in 7 months.

  • Of course you're obsessed, we all are! Are you talking about it a lot? MFP this and calories in that and exercising here and there? If they're hearing a lot of this stuff that's where the "You're obsessed" thing is coming up. You're new and it's exciting to finally gain control over your eating and your weight and it's…
  • Excellent, good for you. It'll happen for you, and in good time too! I fondly remember,,, Goodbye 260's! Goodbye 250's! Goodbye 240's! Goodbye 230's! Goodbye 220's! Really looking forward to Goodbye 200's! Ah,,, to get rid of the damned 2 for the first time since high school.
  • Honey, you look great and you feel great and you have done something amazing. You have officially earned the right to set your goal weight any &$^n where you please.    :smokin:
  • If this crap was easy anybody could do it. You know what you want to do, and you'll get it done. 'nuff said. Go.
  • Great job,,, keep it up!
  • Dayum girl!!! Good job, What I really want to see is a new shot of you with your friend from the first picture... That is - if you can still get her to stand next to ya' Hahahaha,,, :smokin:
  • Mine's an 'o1, so not really that early. The R1100R is the stripped down standard, that's what I've got, though I do have the saddlebags and love them. The R1100RS (S for Sport) got some fairing and sportier pegs and bars, The R1100RT (T for Touring) got a big barn door fairing and bags and most even had a top box. All…
  • That sound great. I'd add in a little lean ham (very light) and a buncha mushrooms (free),,, but that's just me. You have to feed yourself. If we make this unbearable we'll never stay with it, and then we'll just yoyo. Good job finding a way to feed the beast and not blow your day.
