  • I'm just starting out too. I just turned 40, need to lose about 25kg and want to reverse my insulin resistance. I'm fasting today. Goodluck.
  • As I am new to running and didn't really have a plan, I was looking around at C25K but since I had already managed to do parkrun (albeit slowly) it didn't really seem like a good fit. I found the Rundouble app I started with week 7 day 1 of the zero to 10Km program. It was 4 x 8min runs with a 2min brisk walk interval. I…
  • I'm newby runner trying to do a couple of running and gym sessions a week. I have about 20 kg to lose. I started doing park run a few weeks ago with my eldest son (10). Stoshew71 I'm really enjoying the links.
  • Hi, can I join in? I'm a beginner and 4 weeks ago started doing parkrun with my kids. I will be 40 next year and am using that to motivate me to become fitter and healthier. I'm going to aim for 30 kms in November.
  • Hi everyone, I have been MIA for a for weeks but have been lurking a bit. I started a new job full time in early Feb and have been preoccupied with that and organising the family. I haven't been logging but haven't strayed too far off the wagon. I jump on the scales periodically and the numbers are going down, slowly but…

  • Candi, I hope your gym session did the trick and you're feeling less stressed. And yes I know that starting work will mean I might have to exercise self control with the cakes and chocs. I was pretty good during my placements. My husband has been a shift worker for 12ish years and we always make extra meals when we are…
  • Hi everyone, I'm feeling really good about this challenge. I think I have made some attainable goals and find motivation so much easier to maintain when conversing with a group of like minded people, so thanks Skim. This challenge has come at a good time for me. Over the coming weeks there will be some big changes to my…

  • Hi, I'm back after a long hiatus. I have changed my username and am ready to start afresh. I am a bit scared to step on the scales at the moment so will probably do measurements instead. I have about 25kg to lose. My goal is to eat clean and move more.
  • Lol as a fellow Aussie I can understand your trepidation. I was worried moving from North Qld to the Hunter Valley, The temps don't have as much of an impact as you think it will (not that it gets really cold here, just colder than I'm used to). Like misswager said you have a heap of new sports to try out.
  • I don't go to a gym or have access to a fat loss monitor or scales that include this function. I did come across this link - http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html from someone over at MDA. I'm not sure how accurate it is but I think it's handy for monitoring a body fat loss trend.
  • Yesterday I made a smoothie of blueberries, coconut milk, cashew nut butter, vanilla extract and an egg. Was so yummy I made another for breakfast this morning. It kept me full for hours. I think the make ahead frittata would be good too especially with some precooked breakfast sausage.
  • I used to love cereal ie. Just Right or Special K, for breaky but have broken the habit since most are so high in sugar. Now I mostly alternate between 1/2 a cup of oats made into porridge topped with 1/2 a cup of blueberries and a splash of milk, baked beans on wholemeal toast, poached egg on toast or mighty mite on…
  • Bump - I'm still waiting for 30DS to arrive in the mail
  • I'm almost 5'3 and am just under 180 pounds. Last week I had my calories set to 1200 and ate some extra back from exercise. This week I've changed the setting to 1350.
  • Yep, I'm Queenslander living in the Hunter Valley. Feel free to add me. You can generally pick us Aussies as we have kgs in our tickers.
  • Thanks to those who posted pics, you're inspirational.
  • Bumping this to read later
  • Hi everyone, I'm in Australia. Happy New Year!
