  • Its great hearing from everyone and learning about each person and how we are all on the same path though we each have our own little twists and turns to deal with along the way. I wish everyone well!
  • I'm like you on this. I had no real clue...just like I found that caring for someone was not the same as having it myself. I can't wait to see my A1C under 6 - I have to have mine done again in the next month and I'm crossing fingers for better #'s but I'm thankful for the numbers that I have. I just look forward to the…
  • I have to say...I'm the same....bring on the sun...ha ha. I will admit that I'm white as a sheet these days and working night shift ...well you get the picture. But I was told we only get D from the sun. If that's the case how can our diet make a difference here? I do know that I have trouble absorbing vit and min. But I…
  • WELCOME to all new comers. Hope you are all well and hoping together we can all learn and understand more.
  • I cant speak for everyone but I too have a D issue....so does my daughter and husband and several friends. I asked my doctor about it and he said that he started testing everyone who was coming in and nearly everyone he tested came back under the bar and many were really low. he didnt say what he thought might be the issue…
  • There seems to be a connection with the thyroid and many with Type 2. I can't count the people I know who have both problems to deal with. Makes me wonder....I need to try and research this topic...hmmmm. I know that mine doesnt function correctly 90% of the time and losing weight is a real struggle for me. I want to pull…
  • NO NO NO.....these numbers I have posted are NOT a PLAN! They are considered base normals and numbers you can or should expect to see. And as I said....we are all different and will all have a different response/reading. You should ALWAYS talk to your doctor. For me I don't have a PLAN. We just have a target range and I'm…
  • OK I only do one reading a day (unless my numbers would be high for some reason-not usual for me in months)! I got up at 7:30 am - ate (1/2 Nutella & banana sandwich on honey wheat bread) at 8:20 am - Took my 500mg Glucophage & 15mg Actos at 10 am - Glucose reading 107 at 10:50 am EXCELLENT!!! I'm a happy camper!
  • PLEASE REMEMBER >Numbers vary and doctors never agree! Here are some average a1c to glucose readings you may want to look for. What is a hemoglobin A1c (A1c)? To explain what an A1c is, think in simple terms. Sugar sticks, and when it's around for a long time, it's harder to get it off. In the body, sugar sticks too,…
  • Ok Numbers....I will make a post for everyone on readings and what to look for. That was/is an excellent question especially for those that are new to diabetes and glucose meters. TY
  • It's really nice to meet you all and to learn about each of you as you make this hard journey. I somehow feel less alone. I understand the issue with meds. I HATE it. I agree if you need it you need it....but I also feel less of a person....maybe because I know I was warned and refused to listen. I did this and you know…
  • Hi there Marg....very nice to meet you and to have you join us. If there's anything you are looking for please let me (us) know. I'm a real research nut and I don't care one bit to hunt down information for someone especially if it's something the whole group can benefit from. I'm sure by losing some of the weight things…
  • OK I must have over looked that...ha ha...airhead. What can I say...the bleach has gotten to my brain...hee hee
  • This is great but can I ask...what do the calories, etc come out to be? I think I'm heading for Cracker Barrel...LOL
  • The group has been set up and now we have to get everything lined out and get it full of members. Pass it along and let's see if we can fill it with members and ideas! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/1772-type-2-diabetes-support-group
  • I've never been one to set back and wait and i ramble more then I should...ha ha....anywho...I'm gonna start up a group for everyone and as soon as I get in line (a day or two) I'll post the info for everyone. PLEASE pass this around for everyone and lets see if we can get all up, running, and enjoyed before the…
  • I posted a lot of diabetic info in my blog and even posted some recipes for everyone. If ya get a chance take a look...some seem really good.
  • Type 2 here as well. I hate to hear that it came at you so fast and hard. I was warned for over a year and didn't listen then in April it hit full force and I had to be placed on meds (no shots TG) and start w/ the whole finger sticking. Since I have lost 43 pounds and managed to keep it off....now I'm working on getting…
  • I've done the Yo Yo thang for over 2 yr. In April of this year I found out I was diabetic and had to be placed on meds (no shots TG). This really changed the way I was looking at things. I was always 20-30 pound over weight (according to charts and doctors) 15-20 if you asked me where I was happy...LOL. In April I was 150+…
