That's a bit of a stereotype. When I watch TV, I see Americans in certain parts of the country smoking crack, drinking, shooting each other and having sex with each others siblings. Does that mean ALL Americans are like that?

Walking (where I'm from) is usually classed as one of the best forms of exercise you can do. It's free, easy, good for you and mentally relaxing. Don't let anybody put down your walking, it's more than what they're probably doing.

I don't have "cheat days" I do, however, eat foods you wouldn't generally consider healthy, I just make sure they fit into my daily calorie allowance. Also, what I do, is do extra exercise on days I know I want to eat like a crazed beast of the night. It's a fool proof technique.

I know what you're saying, but I don't eat breakfast as soon as I get up, it's usually about 1-2 hours after I wake up, and I'm nocturnal, I usually wake up around 6pm, have breakfast between 7-8pm. I work flexi hours (usually nights) Between breakfast and dinner, I usually consume between 1600-1800 calories, and after…

I've eaten 1500 calories in one meal many times, I keep it within my allowance though.

I eat 1200 calories (roughly) for dinner. If I had to eat 1200 calories a day, I would be in a constant bad mood.

I use the Polar FT4, that comes with a chest strap, so you get a far more accurate HR reading than the pulse ones. It transmits directly back to the watch your HR, records calories (based on weight, height, age and gender) and it's waterproof, I use mine in the swimming pool all the time. As far as the strap goes, I think…

Well, chicken is the only meat I actually still eat, and that's a very limited amount. Something like this might push me to stop eating meat altogether and I'll just stick to eating fish, veg, fruit, ect.

Drink Water Eat fruit Go over your calories. Assuming you're on a 2LB a week loss set up by MFP, you have a 1000 a day deficit. go over by a bit, then make up for it tomorrow by eating a few calories less. Just fill up on vegetables and low calorie food you can lots of. Usually if you're hungry, you should eat.

Yeah, I think I'm going to ignore the sugar count for natural sugar, and just take note of the added processed sugars that are in processed foods. I love fruit, unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from consuming it, I highly recommend it to anyone! I mean, it's better than eating candy and chocolate!
-
Well I eat fresh fruit everyday. sometimes tinned fruit, but always in natural juices - no syrups or anything like that. Again, thanks for the replies people, the advice is always appreciated!

This. Could not give a rats *kitten*, I come here for exercise and nutrition based convo.

Considering you see before/after pictures on here ALL the time, I would say it is relevant.

I'm a nerd when it comes to CoD. Especially Black Ops and MW2 (old, I know) on Xbox 360. I'm always up for some kind of gamer battles! If you want my tag, message me/add me as a friend!

Thanks for the replies people! Just to point out, I've never had a problem with the weight loss, despite the sugar allowance being constantly over. Infact, it's usually doubled, and that's from an apple, orange and some pineapple chunks in juice, or cherries. Usually between 2-3 different pieces of fruit a day! Think I…

Yeah, I'm just concerned I seem to be constantly over on the sugar allowance, from just a bit of fruit! On days my sugar is under, I don't think I eat any! I'm just trying to find out, that in the long run, could constantly exceeding the sugar allowance have some kind of negative effect on me? Or whether the sugar…

I started off at the same weight as you (give or take 5 pounds) in May, 2013. Now it's September, and I have lost 76LBS. I did this the "right way" I simply counted calories, stayed within my daily allowance and I started to exercise. As of yet, I've not hit a plateau. Lowering your calories probably isn't going to help. I…

I went to my doctor and he told me that if I return next month without any kind of weight loss, I would have to go onto blood pressure medication. That night, I started MFP (again)
-
I went through the same mental battle before I went swimming. 1 day before I was meant to go swimming, I posted a topic on MFP about "being too fat to swim" and the amount of replies I got shocking. EVERYBODY was supportive. The day I went, I was nervous. I had butterflies. I was constantly saying to myself "Not worth it,…

I exercise to build a deficit, which means I can eat more food. Let's not forget all the other advantageous benefits of exercise!

If you're moving and sweating, you're burning calories.

Try a really really thin razor blade. I have the Polar FT4, and the backs just seem to pop off quite easily on the transmitter. Never tried it with the watch though!

I eat whatever carbs I want to eat, when I want. It's never hindered my weight loss. In general though, I would opt for carbs obtained from fruits and veg, as opposed to read and pasta. I love both white and brown rice. Doesn't really taste any different when it's covered in Spanish sauce.
-
It doesn't really matter as long as you can fit your calories into your daily allowance. I have some HUGE dinners if my calories allow it and I have clocked up some decent exercise calories that day.

I don't even fully grasp what this game entails. I'll stick to the more simple and straight forward repetitive threads!

I eat fruit every single day. I usually always end up going over my sugar allowance. It's never hindered my weight loss or caused me to crave more sugar.

I'm picky when it comes to meat. I do not like cheap meat of any kind. Or fish. These days though, due to having a vegetarian girlfriend, I don't eat much meat. She refuses to cook it, and she is a good cook, so I'm usually content eating whatever vegetarian food it is she has cooked! As far as fruit and veg go, I'm not…

@ Gabriel - You look like a green shirt. Does anybody know any famous green shirts?
