Completely agree with the folks that said watch your sodium intake, drink water (lots of water), and to also double check your measuring. If you're new to the measuring thing and just eyeballing it without actually bringing out the measuring spoons and cups for at least the first couple of times, you're doing yourself a…

Check around. There are Greek yogurts with less carbs than that. Fage 0% only has 9 carbs per cup serving (20g protein, 9g sugar).

Awesome! Thanks guys!

I ride horses. Saddles that were once comfy are now all sorts of ouchies. I have to retrain my butt now! :)

Its a bit of a can of worms -- you need some cholesterol for proper cell building/functioning. Too much of the wrong type and all sorts of bad things happen. But I believe it all boils down to how your body metabolizes the food you eat as to whether consuming cholesterol containing things contributes any to additional…

This! Fat is the great insulator (hence why seals and walruses do so well with all that blubber). But on the upside, you are burning more calories by shivering. :)

If you have 20 minutes to spare, you might want to try something that does both cardio and strength training in one -- something like the 30-Day Shred videos. You'll get lots of bang for your buck without needing to put in loads of time. And wow, full time school and full time work? You go girl! I thought I had it tough…

rockinmomto3: steam on the stove or in the microwave? I've always done it this way, which is super quick: quarter, de-seed, (and yes, peeling is totally optional, in fact it's probably more nutritious if you don't peel them) then cut into bite sized pieces. Use a mix of apples for better flavor and color (golden delicious,…

Conductivity. It passes an very tiny electric current from one foot to the other and figures it out based on resistance.

Check out Boca Ground Crumbles or Morningstar Farm's Meal Starter. If you're feeling really creative, you can try to make your own vegan "meat" with TVP (textured vegetable protein) and sausage spices (Penzey's makes a great line of sausage spices -- there's probably major supermarket varieties out there). Edit: You might…

Like garage door openers. The controller and the motor speak on the same frequency -- you can't open your neighbor's garage with your garage's controller (usually). If the HRM doesn't have its own unique RF signal it can scramble or be scrambled by other HRMs in the room -- you won't get accurate readings on whatever…

Just as long as you exercise, it doesn't matter when you do it. I've never been a morning person and the quickest way for me to give up on exercise would be having to do it in the morning. So I prefer after work or mid afternoon on the weekends. As for weighing...I don't bother unless I feel something change in my clothing…

Which is why the metric system is superior to the US weights and measures, but we gotta be different (despite the rest of the planet knowing better). :grumble:

This. Can't get much fresher than a egg straight from under a hen. Problem is, you can't peel them after hard boiling them. Doing the above is the easiest thing I've found.

Congratulations on both! And heck, who cares if you can't run a 10 minute mile -- at least you're able to run for 30min straight! I'm totally jealous. :) I think you deserve to Snoopy Dance in celebration...sleep can wait!

I don't know if Woodbridge NJ is anywhere near by (I'm in central NY so your neck of the state is foreign to me), but Wegmans carries them and there's a store in Woodbridge.

Most things like this sort themselves out by simply saying "I'll show you mine if you show me yours first."

Heh, if only for the names of the recipes themselves -- Hakuna Matata Frittata! Thanks for sharing your find. A lot of these look delicious.

No sugar added fruit preserves of your choice. Real maple syrup (make sure it is actually from trees and not processed). Honey. Molasses.

Where do your feet hurt? You might be able to fix things by simply doing a different lace job (or by not tightening them as much). Check out this article and see if it would help you any: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-267--12334-0,00.html

I think that's called being bent over a barrel. :ohwell: Geeze, not only do you pay them money when you first buy the thing, but you have to pay subscription fees for use of the product as well? Tad skeevy.

Spread the cookie cooties -- put the plate on someone else's desk when they're not looking.

I like/use Sun Crystals as well (5 cal per packet since it does have some pure cane sugar in it as well as stevia, and one packet is super sweet so its all you need). I've tried Purevia, but is not as nice tasting as Sun Crystals.

Workout videos are all the same song, different verse. If you find four of them boring, chances are, you'll find them all boring. If you like walking -- which is both cardio and weight bearing strength -- increase your distance and speed. Find light hand weights that you can easily carry while walking. Once you get used to…

Amen, brother! I use the little note area on the food log just for this purpose. I managed to ignore the cookies today that I didn't have the willpower to ignore yesterday.

Probably prevents boredom munching or nibbling while doing the cleaning up. If you're mindlessly chewing on a piece of gum, you're less likely to find something else to eat. Also, you might think twice about having that dessert later on.

Bell Plantation's PB2....all the taste, none of the guilt.

I assume you mean a stationary bike? If you don't have a speedometer on it, the only thing I can think of (and it's probably over complicated for its own good) is to do this: a) Measure the length in inches of the pedal shaft (the part between what you put your foot on to the center of where it connects into the bike).…

First, figure out the type of shoe you should have for your foot/running type. Try the Shoe Dog app at Road Runner Sports (http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/product/shoe-dog.jsp). This will also give you ideas of the type of shoe to look for when you purchase locally. Make sure they fit and check to see if there's a…
