  • Love it! and agree...with many people here. Get it anyway! I have one that I only use in the winter but he says nothing about it because it does get used...of course I also use all of his training equipment too! So jump on his rowing machine, then see how quickly you can have your treadmill
  • I actually read that for every oz of coffee you drink you have to drink the same amount of water on top of the 32oz. you are suppose to drink each day!
  • WOW! You can tell your wife that i just found my new motivation. She looks amazing!!!! And I love that you are so proud of her that you would post her accomplishment
  • Welcome! You have come to the right place! Here you will definitely get all the help you need. Just remember, you didn't gain it all overnight so don't expect it all to come off overnight (an issue I had to overcome big time). It will take time, but if you stick with it it will come off!   …
  • Trust me I am no expert BUT having looked at your diary you are not drinking enough water (unles you don't keep track of it) and you are not eating all of your calories. It is very important to eat back at least half (but really it should be all) of your exercise calories. Plus after an initial big loss you sometimes level…
  • Oh my, the problem that I deal with everyday as well! And I still don't know the answer. There is a blog on this site about HRM and how good they are at determining calories burnt and I gather from what I read that unless you spent a butt load of money on your HRM is isn't accurate. So I use a website I found that uses…
  • If your food diary is right you are not eating enough food!!!! If you don't eat enough your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose a single pound! Also try drinking all of your water. I know it is hard, but I personally find it works :flowerforyou:
  • I like it....please tell me that when I head for my next piece of cake  But seriously, I hear you! I can turn down a lot of things, but I've yet to meet a piece of cake that I haven't at least tasted:sad:

  • I'm shaking it with ya!!!!!
  • Like stated above, after looking at your food diary you need to eat more. Sounds like a backward way to look at it but it is true.
  • I base it on the weight watchers system. You can carry points over (which are baically calories) so why not be able to carry calories over on MFP. As long as you don't go way over it can't be too bad and I for one don't believe in being hungry and miserable to lose weight and it has worked do far :flowerforyou:
  • I have to keep busy! If I sit idle and just watch TV or something I want to eat...and I will. My advice is get a hobby that keeps your mind occupied so that you don't want to stop it and head for the junk food!:flowerforyou: P.S. As someone who works at a University may I recommend studying  . JK
  • Don't give up on yourself. I think a lot of people on this site can relate to what you are going through, I know I am one of them! This is the start of my thrid attempt to reach my goal. I keep getting close and then sliding back into my old habits during the hoilday season. But if you stick to it I know it will work and I…
  • Hi, I haven't actually watch the show but my officemate tells me it is something called a Body Bug. if you google it you should be able to find the website. From what I understand it is basically a uber fancy HRM and you have to pay to get the result using their online set-up. Hope that helps
  • I too have recently developed this problem, but it seems to be really bad after lunch. I sleep fairly well during the night and feel fine until after I eat lunch, then I'm out of it for a couple of hours because I am soooooo sleepy. Let me know if you get an answer!
  • WEIGHT WEEK 1: 150 WEIGHT WEEK 2: 147 AIM FOR WEEK 3: 147 WHETHER YOU MANAGED TO DO 50 EXTRA SIT UPS PER DAY IN WEEK 2. I might not have managed to do them the nights I was suppose to but I did manage to do and average of 50 per night. And I plan on keeping it up!
  • WEIGHT THIS WEEK: 147 AIM FOR NEXT WEEK: 146 WHETHER YOU MANAGED A FULL WEEK WITHOUT CHOCOLATE IN WEEK 1?! If you failed - how and why did you fail, come on it's confession time! I knew would fail before I even began. It was "that time" and I didn't deny myself the craving. But since I lost 3 pounds I don't feel bad. I…
  • I'm in but I can't give up the chocolate this week. It is that "time" and if I don't eat chocolate someone will die....trust me it ain't pretty when the cravings hit. I will try but I make no promises. Next week, I will give up the chocolate for a week....that is a promise! Location: Newfoundland, Canada I like: Food,…
  • Does weight watcher still work on the 50 calories = 1 point system? If so, I would say you were not eating enough (16 points = 800 calories, but then again Veggies are 0 points). This site only goes as low as 1200 calories a day. Your body may have been in starvation mode. Try to eat all of the calories the site gives you…
  • CHOCOLATE!!!!! I have to have it or else I am no pleasant  , well maybe not that bad. But I have some everyday, even if it doesn't make it to my food diary :blushing: . And no matter what I won't be giving it up!. I'm on a diet, not dead  . I think even when trying to loose weight you should be enjoying what…
  • Hi Kim, I don't know if this will help or not, but when you add your food you are given the nutritional information for a certain serving size (i.e. 6 oz, 1 cup, 200g, etc.). What I do is figure out how much I ate (I like to measure everything these days) and divide it by the serving size given on the site. That is the…
  • Amen to that! Someone had to say it!
  • I'm with you. I work out a maximum of 6 times a week for about an hour or less. Gotta have time to live:drinker:
  • I vary from month to month but yes when it is my hungry month I am HUNGRY. And I hate to say it but I eat. I try to be good about it but if the bag of chips in the cupboard jumps in my head while the stomach is trying to eat is way out of my body I indulge myself. Just when I feel sane and back to myself again I go right…
  • Welcome! I have to agree with everyone else, this site is awesome and if you follow its guidelines it will work for you. I've lost 18 pounds so far and I don't even feel like I am dieting. I don't even really eat that differently, just smaller portions! And I still go out once a week with my girlies and eat whatever I want…
  • I too am set up for 1 pound a week. Like you I think it is the better way to do it. Sometimes, because of my daily activities I loss a little more but ususally it is 1 pound or less.
  • Being a woman I have to ask, are you near your time of the month? I know for me I can see my weight not change or (horror) go up by a couple of pounds the week before and during. So don't stress out about it, stay the course and see what happens. For me once it is over I drop the extra pounds (and usually one or two more).…
  • Way to Go!!!! I found your story very moving. I am so happy for you and keep up the good work!
  • Wow! Thanks for that. Some of those I knew but others (my favorite ground beef substitute for instance) I didn't. Again, thanks!
  • I have to say that all of my experiences with MFP are that it UNDERestimates my calories when compared to my HRM, my exercise equipment and a calorie burning calculator (it uses your average heart rate and time to calculate you calories burned) I found online. So I always just go with MFP and I have been dropping the…
